ARCHIVED Being Glutened
BelievinMiracles replied to BelievinMiracles's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Ok...I wrote this post awhile ago and I'm still cramping and having to run to the bathroom...I feel like I constantly have to go. It's been more than a week since I ate gluten and was just wondering if this is normal to feel sick for this long? And I didn't start to get sick until 3 days after I ate gluten...is this weird or abnormal? -
ARCHIVED Frustrated With Mom
BelievinMiracles replied to BelievinMiracles's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease

I talked to mom this weekend and was just talking to her how I feel down and how bad I hurt from eating pizza from the weekend before and how I still hurt and among other things. And she said something along the fact that this is probably only temporary, that it'll go away when I'm less stressed out (the whole gluten intolerance/celiac thing). I don't know...

ARCHIVED Falling Into Temptation.
BelievinMiracles replied to SeMeCl's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Hi!! I've had many temptations and sadly enough I am WEAK when it comes to food...i mean I just long for pizza!!! I've only been on this diet for about 3 months and it's been super hard! This past weekend, I didn't have time to pack lunches for sat and sun and so the only thing I could buy was gluten filled stuff. So I bought and devoured it! Well this... -
ARCHIVED 22 And Helpless?
BelievinMiracles replied to NJCarder's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Hey I'm 21 and gluten free. I was never diagnosed but suggested to go gluten free a couple months ago because they weren't finding anything to be my problem other than an abnormal CRP test. Going gluten free especially while in college has been super stressful. I'd recommend going to a nutritionist or dietitian because i know you can't eat a lot of stuff... -
ARCHIVED Vodka
BelievinMiracles replied to BelievinMiracles's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
The vodka I had was Svedka vodka and it wasn't flavored. All I know was that I use to be able to drink it but now I just feel sick the next day and not hangover sick. I usually don't drink much when I do. I just think it's weird, I fine with wine also...that doesn't bother me. I did buy some potato vodka to try and we'll have to see if I get sick with... -
ARCHIVED Vodka
BelievinMiracles posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I have a question. I was never diagnosed as a celiac but went on the diet before they could figure it out. I was fine with drinking hard alcohol before the diet but after going gluten free I noticed that i get sick the next day with stomach pains and the poopies after drinking vodka, but not with the gluten free beers. I just think it's weird i react that... -

ARCHIVED Swollen Joint From Celiac?
BelievinMiracles replied to Lisa16's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Actually from what I understand, if you have one autoimmune disorder, you are more likely than others to have multiple autoimmune disorders, which can also be diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, etc -
ARCHIVED Swollen Joint From Celiac?
BelievinMiracles replied to Lisa16's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Hey I have the same problems except that my CRP levels were abnormal. I was supposed to go to a rheumatologist but my insurance changed right before my appointment. They were going to see if I had rheumatory arthritis, lupus, chronic fatigue and fibromalagya. My joints started hurting about the same time as my symptoms but the diet has helped my joints... -

ARCHIVED IgA/IgB
BelievinMiracles replied to BelievinMiracles's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
The test is called Antigliadin Antibody Panel. They tested IgA which was <3 U/mL. Then they tested IGG (haha before I referred to it as IgB....oops) which was 6 U/mL. Both of these were put on a scale of <11 Negative 11-17 equivocal 17> Positive -
ARCHIVED IgA/IgB
BelievinMiracles posted a topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I had an IgA/IgB test quite awhile ago and I decided to look at it recently. My IgA was <3 and IgB was 6. I was just wondering how numbers with those antigliadins usually turn up in blood tests, like for example should they be around the same numbers or is there a possiblity that I may be IgA deficient? I don't know how it works. I know my test was... -

I was just wondering how long it takes you guys to react when you have eaten gluten. I've been on the diet for about 3 months now and when I ate gluten I probably felt abnormal about 3 days later. I've never been diagnosed with Celiac though my doctor thought I should go on the diet since nothing else was working because I used to get real sick before going...

ARCHIVED When Will I Feel Better?
BelievinMiracles replied to glutenfreegirl's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I totally know how you feel. I probably started the diet late June and I'm still not feeling 100% ok. It took them 2 years to finally diagnose me and it's very frustrating. So I feel your pain. The biggest thing I want better for sure out of all my problems (stomach aces, kidney pains, headaches, fatigue) is for me to finally have my energy back. I can... -
ARCHIVED Losing Hope
BelievinMiracles replied to BelievinMiracles's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Sorry I haven't been on but it's so refreshing to hear all of your guys' support. It can be super frustrating especially because you pretty much have to go cold turkey, and I bet a lot of time people second guess themselves. I haven't been to a nutritionist yet (i plan to once school starts because then I can make an appt that i'll be able to go to) but... -
I've been gluten free for almost a month and a half with major slip ups here and there. At first it cleared up a lot of symptoms but lately they are back, but then again I'm getting sloppy with the diet. I find it so hard to keep up on this diet. I was never diagnosed with either celiac or gluten intolerance, just recommended to go on the diet. For diagnosed...

ARCHIVED Blood Results
BelievinMiracles replied to BelievinMiracles's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I don't know the reason why they didn't do the whole panel but they just recently took an autoimmunity disorder test and a thyroid one. -
Hi...I just recently had a blood test. They did the antigliadin antibody test. It was collected 6/05 received 6/06 and reported 6/06. I was just wondering usually how long it takes to show results for those tests, because I thought I read somewhere it can take up to two weeks! Just wondering...thank you!

ARCHIVED Oopsies!
BelievinMiracles replied to BelievinMiracles's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I think it contained gluten because I'm pretty sure they're made from flour tortillas but I did wake up this morning with horrible cramps and a gut ache my glands in my throat are all swollen and i have some itchy spots on me...so i'm pretty sure I was glutened and now paying for it -
ARCHIVED I Need Advice
BelievinMiracles replied to nikiann's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Mine first started 2 years ago after a Mono incident and since then I never felt good and never wanted to do anything. So yeah you don't always have it but once you get it, it doesn't go away unless you take gluten out. Good luck. -
Hi I'm new to being gluten-free...about 2 weeks now. But yesterday I ate a Taco Salad and the whole thing including the shell...it totally escaped my brain that it contain gluten. But today I haven't gotten stomach or gut aches yet but I did have a fever yesterday night and random "kidney" pains today that stop me in my tracks but only last for a couple...

ARCHIVED Large Tonsils And Adenoids
BelievinMiracles replied to mama2two's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
I had my adenoids out when I was in first grade. They were so big that I couldn't talk and was afraid to speak. They actually put me in a special ed class because they thought I had some learning disability. Haha now you can't get me to stop talking and I'm on the Dean's List. I'm glad they took mine out. -
ARCHIVED Burping!
BelievinMiracles replied to BelievinMiracles's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I've been gluten-free for 2 weeks now. I'm still burping and I don't think it's been long enough for me to notice yet.
