    Jerseyangel - does it contain brown sugar? Their regular sandwhich bread contains brown sugar and my son really needs to limit his sugar.

    I currently use Pamela's mix for pancakes etc and Gluten Free Pantry for bread mix. My son now needs to be dairy and sugar free and I am looking for an all purpose mix and bread mix that taste good. Do you have any suggestions on those items? Thanks for your help.

    Since blood work is questionable in young children, you may ask your dr if he can run a dna test to determine if your daughter has the dna to have celiacs. You could do it yourself, but it can get costly. But, its the least invasive (cheek swab) way to get tested.

    My son was diagnosed 2 with celiac. He had very classic symptoms to the point that he quit growing for almost a year. He fell off the growth chart and was so clingy and grumpy.     I finally got a hold of the gi dr. we are going in for a gastric emptying scan next month. the dr wants to make sure his stomach is emptying on time and this will also diagnose gerd.     Something like that happens to my son still. I have narrowed to two things - to much sugar or fruit sugars and acid reflux. he tells me his tummy feels bad and that his throat hurts.

    Thanks for the support. When the dr told me that they found ee when they did the endoscopy, i asked a ton of questions. I was told that they do not know what causes it. He has not had any food that he has not had since the first round of steroids. I am wondering if Zyrtec does not bother him or Claritin. I really dont want to subject him to an allergy...

    My son is 2 1/2 and when we went gluten free he had his first solid poop! I was thrilled. A few months later I noticed his poops were getting softer and it was burning his bottom. After the process of elimination, I found that sugar and fruit causes his to have very runny poops and it burns his bottom. I do not give him juice and he has never really liked...

    I was thinking about your situation and could your son have an issue with sugar? I had some of the same issues as yours (as I stated earlier) and once I took sugar out of his diet (or limited sugar) no more problems. To much sugar also burns his bottom when he poops.

    I have a 5 year old daugher who is does not have celiac and I use to see chunks of food in her diaper before she chewed her food real good. My 2 1/2 yr old son has the same thing happen sometimes. Its normally hard food like pickles and I know he does not chew it that well. He does not have his two yr molars yet.

    My 2 1/2 yr old use to hate gluten free food. For a few months I could only get him to eat cheetos and chips. As he began to heal, he began to try new foods. We like the trader joes organic brown rice noodles. They have the same texture as regular pasta. I cook mine for 15 minutes because my son likes it softer. Enjoy life cookies are pretty good....

    I believe it was $395.00 per person, but our ped gi dr and our family dr submitted it to our health insurance and they covered the cost. I dont remember the name of the lab, but I can find out if you need it.

    We don't live near a whole foods either. We have a few health food stores that sell gluten food. My son is 2 1/2. My son loved ravoli before he went gluten-free. Our sub is whole grain brown rice pasts and then I mix it with Ragu Traditional (medium size) and 7 garden (smaller size) and he chows! Enjoy Life cookies are real good.

    My sons family dr and his GI dr worked closely together. Since my son was positive, my daughter, husband and myself were dna tested. Our insurance covered it (tricare).
