He loves Mi-Del arrowroot cookies (like animal cookies) and their cho. chip cookies. He also likes the Enjoy Life apple cookies. I normally keep a bag in the car for him to munch on. Glutino Pretzels are wonderful. Stax potatoe chips and cheetos are good also. My non-celiac daughter loves all of the above and so does my son...

ARCHIVED Glutened Or Sick?bear6954 replied to sugarsue's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs I just double check what they are eating and ask them the symptoms. My 2 1/2 yr old will tell me when his tummy hurts and how. Lots of those viruses are going around, so I would wait a few days and they have her checked.

His bottom was so sore again. I thought that I was cross contaimanting him somehow and I racked my mind for about 1 week. I even bought his own butter tray and toaster oven. I started to keep a diary of what he ate, at what time and when he pooped. I also described the poop and times...

ARCHIVED How You Found Out Your Child Had Celiacbear6954 replied to kimis's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs Before my son was diagnosed he would have night fevers almost every night. He would also get fevers at other times, that would last maybe two days with no other symptoms. About the time we were getting tested for celiacs disease, they did a liver panel and found that his liver was not functioning right. This was before going gluten free. After about ...

You can have your son dna tested (runs about $375.00) if your insurance wont pay for it and it is a cheek swipe. Our gi dr did this to my son before he did the bioposy. I still nurse my son (naps and bedtime). I have tried milk at dinner when mommy and daddy are drinking it. I have tried different flavors and he refuses to drink it. I will keep trying, because I do understand that those calories are empty. I have been keeping a calorie chart on him and if you include only food he is taking in between 400 and 900 calories...

ARCHIVED Intolerance(s) In My Son...bear6954 replied to Mother of Jibril's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs He may be bothered by the sugar in the fruits and veggies. My son has some intolerance to sugar. Juices, to much koolaide and fruit give him awful runny, smelly poops. They also give him awful diaper rash - especially around his anus.

ARCHIVED 18 Month Old Just Testedbear6954 replied to Avasmom12's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs My two year old was tested by blood 2 times and they both came back negative. We had a bioposy done and it was very positive. I think that the blood work is not accurate for children under 2 yrs...

Thanks everyone for the advise. Yes my son can drink milk so I will try eggnog. I would have never thought of it! I will also try smoothies again. I tried a couple months ago and he did not like it. I am not sure if it is the cold or the sweet. But nevertheless, my daughter will drink it!

Thanks for the advise, but my son needs the calories to grow. How many children at age 2 1/2 need 1200 calories just to begin to grow again. There is no way he will eat that many in a day and my son needs those calories to begin to grow. This diet was recommended by three different specialists and I plan on following it. My son, for the most part, will...

ARCHIVED Constant Bm's And Pottying/ Should I Try A Diet Anyways?bear6954 replied to mommywithplenty's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs My son is 2 1/2 years old and I so want to be done with diapers, but I want to get his bm's better defined. I have started on the urine part and he does ok, but he does ask for a pullup for pooping. We have gotten his poops to be almost solid - at least not runny anymore. He has a hard time trying to poop on the potty, but he will tell me when he has to...

ARCHIVED Catch Up Growthbear6954 replied to bear6954's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs My son had huge behavioral issues - cranky, grumpy, clingy etc. Once we went gluten free he completly changed. We wakes up and tells me he is happy today. He acts like anormal little boy! Celiacs react to the protien in the wheat or gluten. There body attacks the intestines resulting in damage to the intestine. My son had the runs, projectile vomiting...
