    I just double check what they are eating and ask them the symptoms. My 2 1/2 yr old will tell me when his tummy hurts and how. Lots of those viruses are going around, so I would wait a few days and they have her checked.

    I was told that 5 years after diagnosis that my son would need to have a bone scan to make sure he does not have osteoperosis (sp?). I asked my dr to do a blood test to check my sons liver fuction.

    I still nurse my son (naps and bedtime). I have tried milk at dinner when mommy and daddy are drinking it. I have tried different flavors and he refuses to drink it.     He may be bothered by the sugar in the fruits and veggies. My son has some intolerance to sugar. Juices, to much koolaide and fruit give him awful runny, smelly poops. They also give him awful diaper rash - especially around his anus.

    Thanks everyone for the advise. Yes my son can drink milk so I will try eggnog. I would have never thought of it! I will also try smoothies again. I tried a couple months ago and he did not like it. I am not sure if it is the cold or the sweet. But nevertheless, my daughter will drink it!

    Thanks for the advise, but my son needs the calories to grow. How many children at age 2 1/2 need 1200 calories just to begin to grow again. There is no way he will eat that many in a day and my son needs those calories to begin to grow. This diet was recommended by three different specialists and I plan on following it.     My sons gi dr said that we should not have to do another bioposy unless he shows no improvement in the blood work and other symptoms. He did say that 5 yrs from when he was diagnosed he would need a bone scan to make sure he is not getting oestoperious (cant spell it!)
