  1. My son (22months) who has on celiac gene but negative bloodwork at age one often has undigested food. Our pediatrician said he would not worry about it at such a young age because they often do not chew their food well. We will be doing follow up blood work at his 2 year check up as his older brother has celiac. I would watch it and maybe bring it up with...
  2. I was totally shocked when I saw how they made them on the history channel and saw them dump in a bunch of flour! Who would have guessed?
  3. We have been on the hunt for a new church because of this exact problem...our 3 year old is gluten-free and we cannot seem to find a "safe" environment for him...any suggestions?
  4. Any idea of which vitamins or nutrients?
  5. I find that if I have a couple of comfort meals on hand that we used to eat in our pre-gluten free days (shepherds pie...ours never had a crust on it just potatoes, roast beef, mashed and a veggie, that happen to be gluten free I can whip them up and not feel overwhelmed. We do tend to eat a lot of grilled fish and chicken with grilled veggies (zucchini...
  6. I have not been able to pin point what triggers it. Once I have a "flair up" I can hardly eat anything.
  7. We are in Northern VA...let me know if we can help! We are major budget people so I have my lists of where I get things...Trader Joes, Wegmans, Whole Foods are good options...(Company Name Removed - They Spammed This Forum and are Banned) is also great!
  8. I have a gluten-free 3 year old who is pretty picky...but you can change their eating little by little. For dry cereal we do Gorilla Munch and the entire Envirokidz line. They also make crispy rice bars that both my kids love. I make oatmeal in my crockpot everynight so that we can eat if for breakfast in the AM. I put 2 peeled cored and cubed apples...
  9. You could see if she is interested in joining the teens section of this forum...once she makes connections she might not think it so bad. She can have friends in the same boat to vent with and encourage her.
  10. You guys just gave me the greatest laugh of my life! Thanks
  11. I have the worst geographic tongue in the world! I cannot find out what makes it bad. It gets so painful that I cannot eat sometimes. Every doctor I have ever seen says that GT is a benign condition and they cannot do anything about it. What makes something benign? If it affects my day to day life does it still fall in the category of benign?
  12. Not sure if it is any good but when I was at Wegmans the other day I saw a gluten-free sugar cookie mix....if you want simple this would be it. I could take note of the brand next time I am there.
  13. Can you tell me where that is? My dad lives in Raleigh and we visit all the time...we are looking at relocating there next summer. My son would be soooo happy to go for pizza next time we are there!
  14. You could do what we did with our second son since our first has celiac...we had the genetic blood work done so we would have an idea of what we were working with. We figured that if he had the genes we would be on the look out for any symptoms but if he didn't we wouldn't be panicking at any little bit of D and fussiness.
  15. We buy our gluten-free oats at Wegmans..they are in the gluten-free aisle but they go fast so we usually pick up a bunch when they are there. They are really good about helping you out there to so ask if you can't find them. Hope this helps!
