  1. Yes that is what I was wondering. So its ok? I was just really suprized when I saw it even listed. I'm so used to seeing it here in the context of bloodwork that it took me a wee bit by suprise.
  2. What do you guys make of transglutaminase as an ingredient? Its in the context of a fish oil additive. Open Original Shared Link
  3. Could you have been pregnant? It almost sounds like a miscarriage, especially with the lateness, spotting and then the clotting
  4. It sounds like food allergy to me. It sounds like blood pressure from ingestion of food. Open Original Shared Link I would ask for food allergy testing and stay away from the nuts for the time being.
  5. I was dx 9 months ago and my iron keeps doing odd bouncing. Doc said that is to be expected with metabolic/digestive issues. I also have thryoid issues which can also affect your ferritin levels. I have had iron shots which seem to have gotten it up to a level where I feel really good. You may have something else going on too.
  6. That looks like early celiac to me. I think you feeling better after going gluten-free for a few days is your biggest clue.
  7. You should have your thyroid levels checked too. Shaking and fatigue can be signs of Graves.
  8. You should get a copy of the blood work results and see the results for yourself and perhaps share here for further thoughts.
  9. Oh gee, I am 5'5" and I was 168 lbs at dx and I am now 182. I eat really healthy and exercise too. I have had two gluten-free cookies this month so definately not from sweets and eating calorie pack gluten-free goodies. Sigh. I wish I could say I lost but alas nope!
  10. Being in canada, dietician at the hospital was covered. I knew at least as much as she did just from reading on the net. The ONLY useful thing she said was not to eat oatmeal for a year until the tummy heals which I suspect is really good advice. Other than that, she was nice but not particularly useful. I did however enjoy seeing the plastic veggies...
  11. No I did not have the EMA. My antigliadin IgA at 17 is a completely different test. the EMA and the TTG are both the autoimmune component, the measure of your body attacking itself. The antigliadin IgA and IgG are antibodies your body makes toward wheat. From what you posted, you didn't have either of these tests. The IgA test you have at 625 is...
  12. YES! I would get a hangover from a single beer. I would have a thudding headache and would feel wretched. I could never figure out why I would feel so horrid after a single beer. Now I know.
  13. I'm going to ask for a repeat on my next appt. I really want to see where my TTG is at. For me its almost lke getting an A on a test if its low it means I've been dilligent Or so I'm hoping!
  14. My TTG was 74. I also had the gliadin Iga and IgG done. They were 17 and 56 respectively.
  15. Its funny because I've had it for years but the latest batch is WAY worse itch wise than anything I've had before. I'm wondering if its like the whole gut reaction that gets worse if you get glutened after going gluten-free. I'm going to ask for a ref to a dermo. I'm just worried it will take ages and it will be gone before I get to see them. I looked...
  16. How do I find your blog? Is there a good way to select a dermo? This is a better picture. I have had this sort of a rash for years and years but just sort of ignored it. I'd have my hubby scratch my back every night. I always thought it was just acne becaue I could never see it. I went to a new doc and he tesed me for celiac on a blood panel last...
  17. Does this look like DH? I'm going to try and post pictures but I'm not sure I know how. I'd appreciate thoughts.
  18. My understanding is that the blood work is grossly inaccurate in small children. At 21 months I'd certainly give it a go while she is still small and its easier. Have you thought about enterolab?
  19. oh that's GREAT! I'm pretty much sure my mother had it too but by the time I figured it out it was, alas, too late. I hope she takes it to heart! It also gives you confirmation too!
  20. I do do that with the dreadmill in the winter. I bike in the summer (and tow my son in a trailer behind my bike). I eat very little grains and don't really buy any of the gluten-free products out there. I've stared doing yoga and I have quite the disparity between upper and lower body strength. I've been making green smoothies too with spinich and various...
  21. There are definately links between tinnitus and iron levels. I have it too and it gets louder if my iron gets crazy low and I know it can start if you have hemochromatosis. I have never had it go away completely. Mine stared one night the winter I was in grade 9 and had never completely gone away.
  22. How old is your daughter? I think I would try the gluten-free diet. What have you got to lose? Even is she is gluten intolerant and not full blown celiac you may still really notice a difference.
  23. I am in the process of iron injections myself. I have had three of five and WHOA, I noticed a HUGE difference in how I felt afte the second one. I have been gluten-free since last may and the iron seems to be my nemesis. It was going up with oral iron but EVER so slowly. I haven't had the blood work yet but I can tell its gotten way higher.
  24. Oh my, did the GI do the allergy tests? The thing that concerns me is there is no such thing as a little allergic to peanuts. YOu need to check that out too.
  25. We were on Celebrity over xmas and they were great. They even made me gluten-free gravy for my chirstams dinner. Their gluten-free bread was some of the best I've ever had
