  1. This may be the reason why I have so many cavities, have NO enamel (sensitive teeth) and why 2 of my children have had to have teeth removed due to bad cavities and the rest capped in the back when we've been so careful with taking care of their teeth and we don't eat a lot of sweets or dried fruits, etc. Very strange!
  2. Ya me too because I am sick of the symptoms and look forward to getting rid of how I am feeling now. I'm just tired of wondering, KWIM?
  3. My son has a GI appt with Celiac specialists in Baltimore, MD Oct 4th and my husband and I discussed whether we ought to give him small amounts of gluten a day until his appt. or should we just strictly abstain as usual. We decided on the small amounts of gluten until appt. day at least and that way he has a better chance at having a more accurate testing...
  4. I second this! This is recommended for laboring women (at home but in the hospital is good too!) to keep themeselves hydrated. I drank 2 large containers of this stuff and kept wonderfully hydrated during the birth of my last baby. It's also wonderful when you are having D.
  5. Wow, I have never heard of this and I have 6 kids. I ate flax throughout my entire last PG and she's now 6 months old. My midwife also never mentioned it and she's a naturopathic Dr as well. Weird!
  6. I plan to keep it up I think, even though I feel like crap. My GI symptoms really confuse me!
  7. My son tested positive for corn through both the skin and blood allergy testing and has had 2 anaphylactic reactions BUT both reactions came about after consuming products with corn syrup in them NOT fresh corn or something with corn flour or corn starch in it. In fact, he has stuff with corn starch in them often and never reacts but always does to a certain...
  8. Thank you for the replys I'm so confused though! The past 2 days I have really allowed myself to eat as much gluten as I have wanted to and today when I use the bathroom my poop was normal. This is what throws me off entirely and makes me doubt myself, I just don't know anymore.
  9. Ok, I have been gluten-free off and on for the past few years and KNOW it makes me feel better but most of my symptoms are neurological so I have troubles staying on it or believing I have anything more than an intolerance. I just recently did an elimination diet to see what was bugging my new baby and I eliminated wheat, dairy, soy and eggs. I naturally...
  10. Ok, so my sons appt. with a ped. GI isn't until the 4th of Oct and is better than the end of Oct as first planned but still, that is 4 weeks away! He got gluten somehow yesterday or maybe the day before and today's poop was green and yellow with blood mixed in and floated. Gaah! I just want this all fixed! I also have tried to contact the nutritionist...
  11. Boy,this sounds like what happens when my corn allergic son (older than the toddler in question) eats corn. He's had many small reactions, one rather drastic and one anaphylactic. Weird!
  12. Don't you just LOVE when your little ones find treasures in the couch? LOL His symptoms are all intestinal and he doesn't ever seem like he's in pain although the times he's eaten something he shouldn't have, he wakes up several times during the night and cries; I don't know if that is related or it's his age? When he has a poop after having gluten it...
  13. But does it diagnose celiac or the possibility of celiac? I don't quite understand this I'm sorry for so many questions.
  14. Isn't this really expensive? We cannot afford to breath right now and are anticipating a drive (fuel costs)to see a good doctor for him and that alone is going to kill us. I would LOVE to get that to get somewhere!
  15. This is what seems to be happening here. My son would always have his reactions 18-24 hours later; this was his first time bleeding though. Gosh, the more I ask questions about celiacs and my son, the more it seems it's a sure fit diagnosis for him. I cannot wait to figure SOMETHING out about this!
  16. I was told black was an upper intestinal bleed, red was lower. I think that is it anyway. My son is also going through some cloth like no tomorrow, ICK!
  17. Yes! 2 Months! My husband was furious! So much so, he went outside and cleaned the siding LOL I am watching his diaper but I am thinking it may simply have been the barley I trialed a bit over 2 weeks ago now. The poop was a definite positive in my book the day afterwards, the next was black and then next 3 were with fresh red blood and todays seems normal...
  18. I'm sorry it took so long, Drs can be so frustrating! I wish they'd do more listening and less verbal diarrhea of their own thoughts KWIM?
  19. Speaking of poop color, is a glutening ALWAYS going to make poop yellow? My sons will turn yellow and sometimes will float, sometimes not. I get confused. What does bright green mean? I know black is a bad thing but still cannot figure out why it would be black; I was told bleeding doesn't occur with Celiac's. I am so confused. Sorry to hijack!
  20. We took the kids camping a few weeks ago and I made homemade pancakes at home and put them in a Ziploc. I also made spagetti noodles and sauce (both in seperate bags), one morning was simply cold cereal, I put raw chicken in another ziploc and made a coke marinade and then cooked that up another night. YUM! Oh, I love pre-baked potatos then cup up and fried...
  21. Is this the norm when you have internal bleeding? Am I thinking it's more serious and it's really not? My 2 year old son has exhibited signs of intestinal bleeding with black stool and with fresh blood mixed in with his stool 4 times in 2 weeks and nobody but his unknowledgable Ped. will see him for this sooner than 2 months? How can I get them to be more...
  22. I really appreciate all of your advice and wonderful support! I am anxiously awaiting Monday morning to make some phone calls and get this ball rolling a bit faster!
  23. I'm sorry for quoting myself but I have always wondered about what I posted, is this particular pain a sometimes thing or is it everytime for everybody? Is it possible to have celiac disease when the pain is only sometimes as in just a few times a YEAR?
  24. I found it Open Original Shared Link
  25. Hmmmmmmmm..........I wonder if I should be going there instead? I honestly don't mind the travel if it's for somebody who's specialty is what I believe my son has. I wonder if they have a website I can visit, do you know? Thank you for this tip!
