  1. Yes, I get that pain as well. For me, it does seem to be related to the fat content of what I eat, and also happens when I get glutened. It is 2-3" to the left of my sternum, and is sharp and burning. Drives me crazy, not to mention being painful. It was constant before I went gluten free, but now comes and goes.
  2. I also get cold frequently, particularly my feet. If it is below 70, I'm wearing a sweater. I keep a blanket on the couch all the time. And if I mistakenly ingest gluten, I feel like my whole internal thermostat goes wacky.
  3. Do whatever gives you your life back. If that is gluten free, then do it with no apologies and no regrets. I don't have any insurance either, and I am not concerned enough with an official diagnosis to bother with further testing. Eliminating gluten from my diet, and the difference it made in my health is all the answer I need. Tests can be wrong, and...
  4. Extreme nausea was one of the main symptoms of my intolerance to gluten. I still get extremely dizzy & lightheaded, even being on a gluten free diet. I have always had a problem with motion sickness. I don't know if the hypoglycemic type symptoms you describe are related to celiac or not.
  5. I take Cal-mag-D, one for hair, skin & nails, a wheat free multi vitamin and omega 3. (when I remember!) Also, all plant based & organic, no synthetic vitamins.
  6. Yes, I get extremely lethargic when I get into gluten.
  7. The elimination diet can be very effective, but for it to work, you have to completely eliminate gluten. I also found out from personal experience that even if a doctor tells you the blood test is negative, you could still have a serious problem with gluten. I had similar symptoms to yours, along with severe nausea, headache.( I was also diagnosed with...
  8. No. Learned my lesson a few weeks ago, the hard way.
  9. I have to add the umpteenth reporting of Ener-g Bread. Cardboard with butter would probably taste better. Glutino Corn Bread is a close second. I've read other descriptions - styrofoam insulation was also a pretty accurate. For favorites: Chebe as pizza crust - even my super picky 5 year old and husband ate it just fine. Quinoa pasta - again, my picky...
  10. I've been happiest making it from scratch. Chebe was also pretty good for a mix. I've found that making a regular pizza crust recipe and simply replacing the flour with a mix of gluten-free flours works the best and produces the closest I've come to the real thing. I use millet and sorghum with a bit of rice flour most of the time. Also had good results with...
  11. Wow, where to start. There have been so many positive effects. A lot of these come back almost immediately if I accidentally get into gluten. Joint/bone/muscle aches diminished by 80% within a few weeks of going gluten free. I had previously been given the catch all diagnosis of fibromyalgia for all of my pain. Lost 15 lbs - so far. No longer...
  12. I have definitely noticed that I eat less, and am much more aware of that full feeling. I never thought about my constant desire to eat in terms of my body not getting the nutrients that it needed, but it makes perfect sense.
  13. I also have problems with feeling tired/fuzzy/vertigo/joint aches & pains when I get into gluten, as well as nausea & headaches. I also feel like I am cold all the time. My blood test was negative, but I still decided to try gluten free and it made a drastic difference within 48 hours. I decided at that point that I did not need a doctors permission...
  14. I've had similar symptoms. I have been nauseous since July, headaches, extreme fatigue, joint & muscle pain, trouble swallowing pasta and anything whole wheat - but no trouble swallowing anything highly processed, though the nausea/headache was constant. All blood tests from my doctor turned up normal, also apparently negative for celiac, and I was told...
