    ARCHIVED Milwaukee Doctor?

Does anyone know of a good GI doctor in the Greater Milwaukee area who listens?
  2. What about black olives? Are they okay to eat?
  3. Yep, me too! Half German, quarter English, quarter Irish. That's also one of the first questions, my doc asked me. Pam
  4. calico jo, when you said that you had a few "safe" staples, what did that include?
  5. Well, then if your blood work was inconclusive, didn't your doctor want to do a biopsy? And if so, why did you not do it?
  6. I've been on a gluten-free diet for 8 weeks now and feel awesome. (I did this before seeing a doctor) Now I went to the doctor and he wants me to do a gluten challenge in order to get a proper diagnosis. He says there definitely is enough evidence to show that I have the disease, but still wants to do the endoscopy after a 4 week challenge. I don't want to...
  7. I would like to know the answer to the creamer questions too, but not only that, what about coffee. I've read that some coffee contains gluten. After a bad reaction last time I had coffee I'm very hesitant to try any unless I know for sure that it is gluten-free.

She looked at me kind of funny and said she didn't think so. She then proceeded to the back to get the box of frozen chicken and had me come back in the kitchen area with her. She let me look at the label on the box...
  10. Do you find that the restaurants that offer a gluten-free menu are really careful when preparing your food as to avoid cross-contamination? I would still be nervous that I would end up sick.

    ARCHIVED Weight Gain

I agree with KayJay. I too had gained a few pounds before I started the gluten-free diet and now have lost about double that. I guess because I avoid all cookies, candies and muffins because of their gluten content. And I just can't justify spending so much money something that I shouldn't really be eating anyways.
  12. I totally agree. When I stopped eating gluten I was hungry at first all the time. Now that I am getting used to being gluten-free I am much less hungry. I have lost about 10 pounds in 5 weeks and feel great. I no longer have the 3pm need for munchies - I can eat an apple and I'm fine.
