  1. I am only on week3 and already see a small difference in nails.. they are getting back to being stronger like when I was younger in my 20's (now I am ~32)
  2. Since I had gestational diabetes 2.5 years ago, following a small portion and calculated meals has become part of my routine. I've been (very randomly) checking glucose since then and sadly it has been on the way higher side of "normal" like 100-105 fasting and 120 Post prandial. 2 weeks ago I shifted to a gluten free diet. I know Ravenwood had her...
  3. "My neuropathies were mostly a tingling sensation like you get when something falls asleep. But I also had a great deal of brain impact that effected my ability to move, it hit my right side heaviest and I usually dragged my right leg or swung it out from the hip when I walked as the nerve impulses just were not getting down into my legs. Have you tried...
  4. Ravenwood, Thanks.. I came across a site that said processed foods containing non-obvious gluten like 'modified starch', 'veg gum', 'vegetarian protein' were to be all avoided. I may have sneaked something with that a little bit in 3 days.. Y'day it seemed like the neuropathy was striking in my feet again and I got really scared because I've been...
  5. I have this issue too.. people look at you funny and laugh like you come from Mars. Friends (so called) shrug shoulders and say they never heard of it.. In laws say "you should eat a little bit" Socially people think it is an attnetion seeking gimmick.. can you imagine that.. I feel sorry for these mentally sick people.
  6. I am recently a little confused. The more research I do the more I realise that glutne is probably effecting people even those who ar not proven celaic in bad ways and yet the market is so so "wheat centric" Everything is marked with whole wheat and I do not see the gluten free increasing in the gluten free aisles. Why do people in general have a whole...
  7. I have only antigliadin antibodies and the only reaction I have (I think it is from glutne) is neuropathy and raynaud's in a few fingers i am only 31..
  8. Ravenwood, Do you know how long it takes for these horrid antigliadin antobidies to go away after going gluten free ?
  9. Thanks ravenwood, I am just amazed how doctors never diagnosed me because only the antigliadin antibody marker was positive. I am hopeful I have found the solution. I am also hopeful my daughter doesn't have this problem. She is fine so far and growing and has been ahead of her milestones but I am a little worried about her and will bring it up in the...
  10. Something I've been noticing :- 15 days ago I had this sensation of feeling light headed everytime I ate (generally every meal had gluten earlier) Recently I feel that feeling is very minimal... It been only 12 days gluten free. I have not bought new pots and pans but be as careful about contamination as possible. I roll out the sorghum bread on different...
  11. I am self diagnosed. All my tests were negative except the antigliadin tests were very positive. I've been 12 days gluten free and feel like it is helping.
  12. I mean gluten. I am SO sorry I always miss it because for me gluten = wheat because I don't consume the other sources of gluten.. I will use the word "gluten" in future. I did get gluten free oats which I don't know what to do with know.. I am of South Asian descent and wheat bread is something I've grown up with and a meal does not feel complete without...
  13. I don't know if this is a lucky patch but the neuropathic pain is far better in the last 10 days than it has been in the last 1 year. Could it really be gluten ? Could stopping it have results in one week ? (Only positive antiGliadin antibodies for me as a self diagnosis)
  14. Thanks so much for the responses. I have more questions When I read labels, I know malt flavoring has gluten but there are lots of colors.. are they glutened ? Like hershey M & M seem to not have gluten.. if I don't know what the colours contain ? Any info here or pointers to resources ? On the labels for packaged things (not deli or local...
  15. Hi, After a miserable 2.5 years trying to diagnose my problems.. NOw i am self diagnosed celiac (I have +ve r antigliadin antibodies but the doctors do not believe I ma celiac) and I have neuropathic pain which is better one week since I am gluten free. (I started a celiac diet a week ago) I also have hashimoto thyroiditis and am on medication. I...
  16. Also, where does everyone shop ? I find the TX Hebs and whole foods are comparabale wrt the stocks of gluten-free foods.. Other resources ? Thank you I REALLY appreicate the help
  17. Thank you so much for your replies. Sorry not a can of tomato but a can of tomato paste says it has gluten.. I don't remmeber the brand... I bought quinoa and I bought gluten free oatmeal.. these gluten-free foods are leaving a hole in my pocket.. I still want cake and cookies abd brownies once in a whle but they are TOOOO expensive.. what do you...
  18. Hi, I am realiszing following a gluten-free diet also means compromising on protein ALOT if you aren't a heavy meat eater. I am a chicken eater 1-2 times a week and a daily lentil eater BUT I think the amount of protein dips on a gluten-free diet. The aisle of gluten-free foods in whole foods is hardly sufficient for all my meals.. how do I reaad labels...
  19. Thankyou ravenwood.. I am being completely meticulous because I can't play a chase game of dcotors anymore and all my internet research shows antigliading antobodies attack nerves whether or not proven celiac.. Thank you for answering.. I need the hope.
  20. Have you checked your blood pressure when you feel like this ?How has it been ?
  21. After many many tests all inconclusive yet I think I have a gluten issue for sure. This is based on a very positive antigliadin antibody test. I think I have small fiber neurpathy given the low blood pressure I have with the severs burning in hands and feet. I've did do a 3 month wheat abstinence and maybe it wasn't too meticulous and I started another...
  22. Alright, I will quit even the cornflakes.. I'll get the special gluten free cornflakes. I'll call about the salad dressing or BETTER will quit them and just make my own.. vinegar + olive oil + spices.. There is nothing left to cut out.. All Iknow is the neuropathy progression is so fast I am left with nothing to do and no one to go to.. All...
  23. Ravenwood.. Thanks.. Actually they tested B12 a while ago and it was more wonderful.. I don't take B12 supplements .. I tried taking it last week and realised (maybe not related) the pain and "zzzzzzzz"/burning feeling in my legs/wrists is worse than EVER.. It seems it may be even creeping up my knees It has NEVER been this bad.. I am quite careful...
  24. Any advice about my last post ? Thank you
  25. Veggie, raven, Thanks .. Yet, the parasthesias are back recently and they are worrisome .. maybe I ate some hidden gluten .. but I can't thik of anything I ate with gluten in the past week. Though some things are definitely better... like the insomnia.. some fasciculations.. weakness .. some weight gain .. since I went off gluten a month ago.. the...
