  1. Sorry my mistake, I should have said put her on Gluten free, not keep her on gluten-free, she has been eating gluten prior to the biopsy. My husband wants to wait for the results, but I would like her to go gluten-free straight away. I had a negative biopsy years ago, but then saying that, testing has improved since then, but if only I had gone gluten...
  2. Well DD had her biopsy today, she said it actually looked very good, we don't have the biopsy results yet so it not negative, but this got me thinking what if it is negative, why would you have positive Antibodies if you didn't have celiac?? I am sure this has been mentioned many times but any replies would be great. I am sure we will decide to keep...
  3. I decided to call my GI and ask his advice just waiting on a reply. I am very nervous about taking anything if its possible it contains gluten even such minimal amounts. My Psychiatrist made me feel I was been silly and told me to continue taking them, I do have severe anxiety atm, so I guess he is just trying to control that but he didn't seem to take...
  4. When you switched from Pristiq to Xanax did you just switch over or cut down and start. Did you have any side effects from Xanax? Thanks Lisa
  5. I am extra careful, I try not to have anything that could have possible traces, I also am very anal at home with cleanliness, also having separate butters, jams, toasters, boards. Apart from the bread the whole house is gluten-free, but unfortunately bread is the most worst product for contamination. I haven't seen the GI as yet, my appointment is on...
  6. Thanks, I will definately give that a go.
  7. What medication or alternative treatments have you used for Major anxiety. I have just started pristiq although already got major constipation, for the first time since going gluten-free. I suffered major constipation prior to diagnoses, I have looked up most meds for anxiety and they all seem to have a side effect of constipation.
  8. I have access to a fridge, so I take alot of left overs, soup, salads, rice crackers with various toppings. I freeze lots of soup, risottos, rice dishes in single serves so I can defrost and take to work for lunches. I have not had the school lunch problem yet, although as of next week DD will have to start eating gluten-free so I am in for a challenge...
  9. Thanks very much, thats made me feel alot more at ease, I have been worried, thinking what am I doing wrong and it should be right down, I didnt realise it could take a long time. I think once DD has her biopsy we will have less chance of contamination as we will not have as much if any gluten in the house. Thanks Lisa
  10. Thanks, since going gluten-free I have been feeling a little better, not 100% but improvement, bloating gone, headaches less often. I suffered major constipation prior to diagnoses which seems to have improved greatly since going gluten-free. I am still having bad anxiety and lower back pain occasionally. The anxiety I have noticed really effects...
  11. I managed to get hold of my GP today, who said the its only traces of gluten and its so so small in the coating of the tablet, it would have no effect and has asked me to stay on them until I see my Gastroenterologist in a couple of weeks. Did anyone else try Pristiq? Do you think such small amounts of traces would be safe? Due to them been Antidepressants...
  12. I had a recent follow up blood test IgA Anti-t.Tg and they came back at 26 which is still too high. They were 127 when I was first diagnosed. For the last 4 months, I have been so careful with contamination and with what I eat, some people think I go overboard. But I don't want to risk anything. Now I am confused as to why? Did anyone else have...
  13. Thanks, I wont continue I am not to happy with the small trace of gluten, I dont feel that any trace amount is safe especially when it can be avoided. Thanks for the reply I will chat with my GP. I am taking Mirtazapine already, which does seem to help especially with sleeping although I am still getting bad anxiety throughout the day. Thanks for...
  14. Has anyone known of Pristiq for anxiety, since been diagnosed with Celiac I have had major anxiety. I have recently been put on Pristiq only 4 days now, although I checked with my pharmacist who checked the ingredients and said it was safe for Celiac, then I rang another chemist who contacted the manufacturer and was told it had slight traces of gluten...

  16. I have been gluten-free for 8 weeks, also have an allergy to nightshades. I was thinking dairy was causing a bit of tummy problems as after I had cheese one day my tummy didnt feel the best, but that may have not been the cause. I went soy, just over a week ago and this week my skin is awful I have been breaking out in an awful pimple rash on...
  17. I have been gluten-free for 7 weeks now, I was really expecting to feel great, but I am not, still got quite bad anxiety and occasional bloating I am been so very careful not to contaminate and not eating out yet so I don't think I have accidentally eaten any gluten. I get worried it could be something more which makes my anxiety worse and I its hard...

  20. Well I was diagnosed 6 weeks ago, both my kids had a blood test and my 4yr old daugher has come back with likely celiac and need to have a biobsy. I am not surprised as a baby she had tummy problems, and we was told she was secondary lactose intolerant due to many gastro bugs. She has been fine on cows milk since she was two, although we have had problems...

  22. I was just doing a seach on Lectin Free diets and came across this older post. Just wondering if anyone had tried this. I was just doing some searching on the net and found some really interesting things that link Lectin Sensitivity to celiac other allergies, anxiety, stress, acne and much much more. Anyone else know much about Lectin? Thanks Lisa
  23. I have recently been diagnosed, I am wonder to what degree of damage I have. I didn't get a great deal of discussing with my GI he just confirmed celiac. Can anyone understand this comment? My report from the GP states: The villus crypt ratio is at best 1:1. The lamina propria is expanded by a moderate numbers of monoculear cells and numerous intraepithelial...
  24. Hi I feel exactly the same way, I am 29 from Western Australia and diagnosed a month ago, I have two little kids 3 and 4yrs old, a huge fear is not been around for my kids. Its a huge fear of mine getting a serious illness, cancer and dying. I took this all that bad, my GP has put me on anxiety meds to try calm me, I am feeling a little better but...
