  1. I was tested for everything under the sun. Thyroid, Lymes, Autoimmune Disease, Blood Cell counts, Inflamation markers, H. Pylori, Ulcers, Parasites, Candida, Potassium, Organ Functioning, Blood Sugar, Rheumatoid Arthritis. According to all the tests I was a picture of health! They said I was depressed, Viral, whatever. My Dr was convinced it was Celiac and...
  2. Yes they are enteric coated. I like the minty breath too, but Its making my throat and tummy cold feeling. Did they help u right away or did u have to take them for a while? Arent they suppost to help with heartburn? Why do they cause it? Should I try again or get something else? Will they help with intestinal healing?
  3. It happened again! After I read this post I decided to try taking one. Its the Now brand, and I took it at 10am. At 6pm I started burping peppermint! Has this happened to anyone else?
  4. I worked in a supplement dept. in a health food store for a lot of years and Peppermint gels are awesome. I took one one time, and burped it. The peppermint went in my nose, all up my throat so make sure you have swallowed them and they dont burst. The tea works really well too in this case. Gripe Water, its usually for colichy babies, works really well for...
  5. Thank you so much for all your advice chemistmama! I am still learning when I have eaten something with gluten. I havent been feeling well the last couple of days and figured out the bbq sauce I was using has caramel color and modified food starch. As for my kitchen, it could use improving. I do have my own toaster, though. It seems like I am less sensitive...
  6. That is kind of how I am. I use the Pamela's gluten-free baking mix which has cultured buttermilk and Im fine but if I was to have milk, sour cream or cheese Id be on the toilet all day! I think it can be like that. If I eat it one day I might be fine but if I eat it 3 or more days in a row it will catch up to me. Have you tried Dairy enzymes? Those were...
  7. I havent filled the prescription yet but I think it says TAC cream. Ill let you know if it works. You just reminded me. I better ask the pharmacist if its gluten free!! What is the CYA statement on products? Do you have any more pointers on making sure things are gluten free. Im new to this, thanks!
  8. Update: Dr says Im doing great on the gluten free diet. He says gluten is in everything so be extremely careful. Even corn tortillas can be rolled out on flour surfaces!! I never thought of this! He gave me some cream for the DH and says it will go away eventually if Im strictly gluten free.
  9. Thats Awesome! Im so stoked that more celebs are sharing their celiac stories!!
  10. I have itchy, deep water blisters on my fingers and toes. Ive been gluten free 4mos and still breaking out. They go from these tiny deep blisters (hard to pop) to a patch of dry skin. Am I detoxing the gluten from my skin? It comes and goes weeks on and weeks off. Nobody else in my house has it so Im pretty sure its not scabies or anything like that. Can...
  11. I too have noticed a huge improvement in my fibromyalgia and nerve pain by eating gluten free. I have so many more good days than bad! I also have WAY mor energy than I ever have! I'm no longer a couch potato!!
  12. I take a supplement but I am wondering about using the oil. You spray it on your skin and it absorbs through your skin. It completely bypasses your digestive tract. Just wondering if anyone has used it.
  13. Ya my Dr. is awesome. He told me forever that I had to stop eating wheat. I finally listened when I got really sick. He tested me for everything under the sun and all clean bill of health. He said hes convinced Im celiac. Thanks to him I will never eat gluten again. He stays up on all the new health breakthroughs, hes organic and he and his wife dont eat...
  14. I have some lingering muscle pain since being gluten free 4mos.,although it is much improved. I am taking magnesium in the morning and at night. I think its giving me loose stool and gas/bloating. I have read alot about Magnesium oils. They absorb transdermally and people with fibromyalgia have claimed it to be a "miracle" on some of the testimonies. Has...
  15. I totally agree!! Take the ezymes! They really help. Make sure you take them with every meal.
  16. I really like digestive enzymes, too. I take one by Enzymatic Therapy that is actually called gluten defense. It claims to help digest trace amounts of gluten and dairy. Digestion is one of my main issues and thanks to enzymes and acidophilus it has greatly improved. www.enzy.com is the link.
  17. Thats good. I am the same way. They would do good if your having trouble with digestion.
  18. Not that I know of. I think thats just medicines. It should be dissolved in your stomach and intestine. I dont think its like that for vitamins. You could drink them, they have kefir, yogurt and other foods with naturally occuring bacteria. IE: miso, kim-chee,. There is also powdered forms available. You could open the capsules into smoothies if you want...
  19. I personally believe probiotics are really vital to intestinal health. I take tons of them a day. If you have celiac your intestine probably isnt making them very well and you may need to supplement. Enteric-coated are going to implant better. Jarro is the premier brand of probiotics and they are shelf stable so no refrigeration necessary. I have met alot...
  20. WOW! I did not know this. I totally crave chocolate so bad and if I eat too much of it I get a tummy ache. Im definatley gonna read this book! Sounds like I need it!LOL!
  21. Thats about how much I take now. I take it now with my morning and dinner regimine.
  22. Have you tried magnesium or sublingual b12? I learned about those for celiacs on this site. I have to say they have both helped though my symptoms still linger. Im starting to think taht my vitamins get really depleated during my menstral cycle and every time it takes a week or two to get them back on track. Does anyone think hormones are a factor? Will this...
  23. I know how you feel. I think I was glutened by a tamale on sat. I am so sick today. I went home from work as well. I relate to the improvement. It is easy to get discouraged when you have a set back but like you in the 4mos Ive been gluten-free I feel alot better. Its a slow process, I am trying to be patient also and really nurture myself on the bad days...
  24. Thank you. I shop at a health food store for all my vitamins and am pretty dilligent about checking labels. Im 99% sure they are all gluten free. I work at a busy hotel/bar and after a long night of bartending when its slammed I feel like crap for like 2 days! I am only 28 and I cant beleive my body is so taxed. I have 2 kids and Im very active. I just try...
