  1. My issues (although not diagnosed yet) were very sudden in the beginning. I had 4 weeks of diarreah and went from 102 lbs to 92 lbs within that 4 week time frame. I was down to eating rice, applesauce and ensure by the time they decided to get serious about testing me for things. After that I had intermittent diah....then after about 3 years it switched to...
  2. As some of you may know I had allergy testing done Monday that resulted in many high results to a number of foods and a bunch of seasonal allergens. After teh allergist faxed the results to the gastro - his secretary called and informed me that they want to now to a "Capsule Endoscopy" to further evaluate Celiac even though blood work is negative. I am...
  3. First - thank you so much for your response!! Sounds liek you have definitely been where I am right now and have alot of good advice to share:) The second allergist I saw tested me , found the multiple seasonal and food allergens, and sent me on my way. Of course they gave me an epi-pen kit, inhaler, claritin, and singulair , and a copy of my allergens...
  4. I had this for quite some time post baby. My son is now 4, and I do not see this at all. I wouldn't say it was a Stretch Mark however. Just a reddish line that ran all the way down to my pubic bone. It seemed like it took forever to go away - maybe a few years. If you have any young children - maybe it is just the hormone levels in your body still a little...
  5. I have very itchy skin at times. I use Jergens Cherry-Almond scented lotion. Even with all of my multiple allergies - this lotion works really well for me and does not irritate my skin. I use it head to toe in the morning and at night (and especially head to toe if you take a shower). Another good one is unscented Palmers Cocoa Butter lotion. I find that...
  6. I am hoping that if I just go gluten free the other allergies will subside as you guys have mentioned. I have been calling the one dietician in my town for two months and we are playing phone tag I honestly beleive that my system must be in hyper drive to have that many allergies - but I do not know what to eat if I eliminate all vegetables (besides cauliflower...
  7. I am not sure either. I have had blood RAST testing and skin testing done both revealing the same results. All I can do is attempt to eliminate the allergens and see how my body reacts. I am willing to try anything - so we will see how it goes.
  8. So here I am again after my second allergist appointment with the new allergist. They performed testing in their office and were shocked that I reacted to so many things. After cutting the test off early (9 minutes rather than 15) wiping me down with cream, and giving me an oral anti-histamine - they told me my results. I am basically a 4+ and a...
  9. There is another allergist in my town who travels here two days a week from a larger city =) I specifically told them before scheduling that I need to be sure that the Dr. is familiar with and able to assess multiple food allergies or possible intolerances, and asked if they work with elimination diets and what have you and she assured me they did. She said...
  10. I unfortunatley live in a small town and it is difficult to get solid answers/guidance. My allergist is in an extremely busy practice - and just told me to "eliminate wheat for 6 mos then add it back in slowly every 4 days" The nurse practitioner and nurses looked at my results and said I needed an allergy bracelet, and were the ones to give me the literature...
  11. I am going to have to try elimination diets and forgo what the general physician has said. I can't go on this way. Last night I had a dinner that consisted of noodles (just egg noodles and chicken broth), mashed potatoes, and corn and I have been bloated/distended/gassy and feeling "full" since. That was at 5:00 P.M and it is 8 A.M the next day and I still...
  12. Anemia can cause leg cramps. I would venture to say that it is not the Gluten Free Diet as much as it is probably a need for increased iron (through a good multi-V).
  13. Hello all =) This is just a follow up to a previous post. I picked up my blood test results (in entirety) today. It looks as though I do not test positive at all for Celiac Disease. This has been a very frustrating process as I was sure that this was the cause of my issues. I am going to post all of the results I have and see if anyone has any suggestions...
  14. Those are my EXACT symptoms.....down to a "T" !!! If you figure anything out - pleaseeee let me know as I am still awaiting a diagnosis. I am on Nexium but it does nothing for the Sharp left side pain, bloating and Gas, deep belching, underweight, or constipation issue. I like you am pale and have the ridges as well.
  15. OK....so I found out a few of the results - and it doesn't look like I have Celiac. Frustrating but good nonetheless. Basically I have had a number of tests run and all come back negative. Its not my Gall Bladder, Gastoparasis (sp), or Celiac...so I get the lovely IBS diagnosis. I now have to come to terms with the fact that I will have pain my whole life...
  16. Thank you GottaSki, Ravenwoodglass, and Hydrokube. I will definitely take all of your responses to heart and try and learn from your experiences ~ I too have always been underweight (never over 102 my whole life), but recently gained 6 lbs. on Nexium over the past two months (first time trying Nexium). It would be my luck that I would see the gastro...
  17. Thanks for the responses. I went to the Gastro appointment, and again left feeling a bit uneasy about everything. The doc basically shot down my thoughts about celiac and only wanted to consider IBS. He does not want to re-scope me (I had a scope done 4/07 by a gastro who is no longer practicing). He said that my original scope was to check for malabsorption...
  18. Hello all! I have had troubles with my stomach for about 3.5 years now. It started when my little guy was about 6 months old, although I did have terrible heartburn the whole pregnancy. It started very seldom then became a daily and every time I ate kind of thing. I had diarreah for 4 weeks straight, went down to 92 lbs from 102 lbs, and then the diarreah...
  19. Happy birthday and may God bless you today!

  20. Hello all. I am curious about DH. Is it a very noticible type of blister/rash, and is it always multiple lesions or blisters? I have only been gluten free for like 3 days to see if it helps my tummy troubles, and last night I and a worlds finest chocolate caramel bar (daughter selling them for cheerleading). This AM I have a few blisters that are itchy...
  21. From reading the boards I have found out that there is genetic testing that can be done for your family members, including your 5 year old daughter. Enterolab does it, and I am sure the doc. who diagnosed your Celiac would gladly do it as well. I am certainly no expert, but from what I read they are looking at the DQ genes and different combinations of them...
  22. Went to the Primary doc today to get a referral to another gastro because my referral to OSU Medical Center did not get approved by my insurance I also followed up with the docs that originally did my endoscopy two years ago and asked them specifically if they tested for Celiac b/c I remember biopsies being taken. They said they are unable to locate anywhere...

ARCHIVED Recommend A Doctor In You State

If you find anyone in this area, or get any responses PLEASE let me know. I am almost 100% sure that Celiac is what I have and cannot get anyone to do testing:( Even though having a wheat allergy come up positive, the primary care doc here states that I cannot have Celiac because it is a malabsorption disease and I am gaining weight. He said back when I was...
