  1. Possibly an old wives tale, but I had once heard that some exposure to sunlight helps increase the absorption of Vitamin K.
  2. I've been eating at Taco Bell...despite the class D meat . I just order a crunchy taco. I can't add sauces...most of them have gluten. Their website is very, very good at listing what is ok and what is not. They put the ingredients of absolutely everything separately so you can request it exactly how you can eat it. They have short list which is OVERLY...
  3. I wouldn't touch it either, due to fear of reactions to the MULTIPLE gluten ingredients. And thus far, I'm going to have to say making your own gluten-free bread is the only option. The prepackaged stuff I've found has all been so heavy, thick and untasty that it just isn't a substitute for bread. I've completely resorted to white corn tortillas for my substitute...
  4. I can't recall the name brand at the moment, but I've found some corn noodles at Whole Foods that taste amazingly similar to wheat noodles and only slightly more in cost. They are a little thinner in texture, but the taste is great. I'd wonder if the cheese sauce in a brand box of mac n' cheese has gluten? Just throw out the noodles and use the sauce? Could...
  5. As a relative newbie myself, I've tried to stay with whole meats and baked potatoes when I go out. You can write down and slip a piece of paper to a server requesting a freshly cleaned grill for 'allergy' purposes. Most restaurants have no issue doing a quick clean, even during a busy time, for allergies otherwise they worry about liability. What I mean by...
  6. I do hope you like a few other kinds of Doritos, as some of them are gluten free. I've replaced the standard Nacho chip (not gluten-free) with their Tacos at Midnight (a new flavor), which is gluten-free.
  7. I inject 1 cc per week to keep up. It's common with Gastric bypass patients...and celiac...but it may take more time for your intestines to heal than 2 1/2 months. Most seem to think its between 6 - 9 months before substantive enough healing occurs for proper absorption to recur.
  8. I've done some checking on the net, and haven't been able to track down what kind of malt process they use. I've found that two of their products (a wheat and a stout) are most definitely NOT gluten-free. Their pilsner may be, but I don't know the malting they use. Ingredients are only water, rice and malt. Personal recommendation: Red Bridge by Anheuser...
  9. I am grateful that you have posted these. I've been struggling with so many issues for my lifetime, and now I'm starting to get some clue about there being a single cause. Endometriosis is one of them, as well as low hemoglobin levels...etc etc. I won't bother with a full medical inventory, but I'll just say the more I research, the more I realize that I...
  10. Have you had a laparoscopic procedure to rule this out? I have had multiple procedures to remove endometriosis. It is not detectable on any scan or test. It has to be visualized. With the gas and bloating - my endometriosis has a habit of wrapping around my colon causing trapped, painful gas, bloating and issues with bowel movements. I wouldn't suggest ruling...
  11. I'm just starting a gluten free diet (about four weeks). I'm not sure if I'm celiac, or if I would ever know because I don't plan on doing a Gluten Challenge. I had gastric bypass in 2002. I have had multiple issues with stenosis, ulcers, malnutrition...additionally reproductive issues up the wazoo. About two weeks after the surgery I became extremely...
