  1. Hi! Sorry you are feeling rotten! For sure Celiac & Gluten sensitivities can do very weird things to people. My husband, his sis, and their dad all have biopsy-confirmed celiac -all three had many weird things happening to their bodies - and between the three of them they basically had zero overlapping symptoms. We are in the process of trying...
  2. Hi Readers, I see a couple people are following this thread, and maybe it will be useful to someone else in the future, so I thought I'd update. I sent a follow up email to the center with my questions, a request for clarification of some things relating to DH, and a request for the full genetic test, and they recommended I come in to see a different...
  3. I don't know if this would be a faster possible route in Canada or not, but this sounds like possible dermatitis herpetiformis - a skin manifestation of celiac disease. You might want to read up on it and figure out if a scoop skin biopsy of your rash (very important that it be next to a leison NOT on it) would be faster to get than 300 days wait for the...
  4. Hey, Sorry you are feeling awful. I have been researching symptoms like crazy , because one of my kids had contradictory testing, but has a lot of autoimmune symptoms and a strong family history of celiac/dh and related autoimmune disorders and we are trying to get to a figure out what is going on (and to hopefully prevent further damage!) Anyway...
  5. I photo'd her rash. They are the actually the best photos I've ever taken one of her rash outbreaks with my phone. I know that might sound goofy, but I've been trying to get a decent photo of these random rash outbreaks for over a year. They really don't photo well. (And they are not nearly as extensive as some of the rash outbreaks I saw of DH on this site...
  6. Hi Again, I want to thank everyone who replied to my long post and questions. I can't tell you how much it means to me to feel supported as we try to sort out what to do next. You guys were also amazingly fast. If more people out there see the post and have further ideas for any of my 8,000 questions please continue to reply if you can. Feeling...
  7. Hi Everyone, I am looking for any relevant medical studies, and some general support, that may help me sort out contradictory test results and follow up for my daughter. First family history: My husband presented with pediatric DH and was confirmed through skin biopsy at age 11. His younger sister had GI issues forever, but no rashes. She was given...
  8. Hi All, First of all, thanks for the replies. I really appreciate it. We did ask our OB, and she indicated a conviction that gluten I ingest will not harm the baby in utero. We were at least a little reassured when she immediately knew what we were talking about, and indicated that she'd cared for other patients with similar circumstances. She did recommended...
  9. Hi All! This is my first post. My husband was diagnosed celiac at age 11 and has followed a gluten-free diet pretty closely for years. He is 31 now, and we are pregnant with our first! Fortunately we had absolutely no problem getting pregnant. I am not a celiac, nor am I gluten intolerant. I am wondering if I should be following a gluten-free diet...
