  1. I was just looking up some McDonald's info and noticed the french fries very clearly say "Contains Wheat," now. I just wanted to make sure people knew that. Let us know how the McRib went!
  2. back to the boy scout popcorn here's what the company's site had "Trail's End products do not contain any material from barley, rye or oats. Our White Chocolatey Pretzels contain wheat gluten. The following products are manufactured in a facility that handles wheat: Chocolatey Triple Delight, Cheddar Cheese Corn, White Cheddar Cheese Corn, Caramel Corn...
  3. Hey all you preggers celiacs! I am recently Dx and we were hoping to have another little one soon. Looks like we're putting if off until I've healed a little longer! However I'm starting on some prenatals and was checking out Meijer's free prenatals to see if they were gluten-free. I've contacted all of the manufacturers and have heard back that all...
  4. Lamphead, I wanted to encourage you to get a blood panel as well. Particularly since you haven't begun a gluten-free diet yet. I have had serious environmental allergies my entire life. I have had spots determined to be eczema that have never left for more than a few months. My spots were not in the typical elbows and backs of knees. Mine have been...
  5. Thanks for the info. There's a compounding pharmacy close by me. I hope I don't have to change, but at least i know where one is if I have to.
  6. This made me curious i was told about a month ago by my pharmacist synthroid is gluten free. So, I called Abbott today and was told, "none of the current ingredients contain gluten from wheat, rye, barley, (and something else I had never heard of). Therefore, it is not likely synthroid has gluten in it." so not a 100% free, but basically sounds like...
  7. [\quote] This is where I need help. The pressure from the enlarged thyroid is making it difficult to swallow and it feels like it is pulsing. Have had an ultrasound, but are there any other tests I should be asking for, CT scan or MRI? Thanks
  8. Well, I had a longer post, but it was just deleted somehow when I went to edit it. So, to make a long story short I have been a life-long athlete and have had a lot of difficulty training the past 2 years. I ended up with a stress fracture training for a mini-marathon (how's that for malnutrition at 26yrs.?) I had blood test confirmation about two months...
  9. There is a group that meets in Louisville at Baptist Hospital East. I haven't been. I was recently diagnosed myself. They have a message board you can check out and newsletters if you join. There's an annual fee. They do a pitch in of gluten free food at each meeting as well. Hope this helps I don't know what part of Kentucky you're in. Meagan
  10. I've been buying the Jay-C store rotisserie chickens. They are owned by Kroger and Kroger has listed that their private label items will clearly list ingredients containing gluten. Supposedly if it says spices it does not contain gluten. This is what their letter to gluten free consumers says. Obviously this doesn't mean no CC. Just thought I'd share...
  11. Hey I just wanted to let everyone know I was given the email address to request gluten free info from Aldi. You still need to provide very specific information on the products you are concerned about. Brand, UPC, type ie.) cheddar vs. sharp cheddar. You also need to include the store you shop at. They have a few items that are already labeled gluten free...
  12. Thank you so much! I'm waiting to hear back from the Ped. office still. I really like them and they seem to want to help us. Also it's my doc's office too. They are an internist/pediatric practice, and were at least willing to spend some time doing some research and becoming informed. Definitely not the reaction my mom got from her PCP when she called...
  13. Hey celiac moms and dads! I was just diagnosed and need to get my kids tested. I think my 3yo has it, but not sure about the little one. 3yo has hyperactivity issues, was on zantac as a baby while breastfeeding and i was never able to give him any baby cereals besides rice, they all made him sick. Funny at the time I actually said to my aunt that he might...
  14. The discovery of colitis antibodies was so "random". As far as the colitis antibodies go did you have a colonoscopy? I have lymphocytic colitis, a type of microscopic colitis, after research probably the best to have. It was only found after the biopsy from my colonoscopy. It won't be found by the colonoscopy itself they have to do the biopsy to find...
  15. I had read about the false negatives and called my GI and asked, he said it takes much longer for any relsolution or regeneration to occur and it would be more helpful for me to go ahead and start getting it out of my diet. At this rate I will still be finding things in my diet in two weeks because I seem to constantly be finding new items and specific ingredients...
  16. After many years and many issues I received my elevated blood test results about 5 days ago. Have been wavering between shock and relief. Started looking for some answers about my moodiness the past couple of days. I even took a pregnancy test to make sure. I haven't been this emotional since i was post-partum. Seems like that's pretty normal. I have...
