  1. Oh yes, sorry, I forgot to mention that my mother had mature onset diabetes, and a bone disease called Paget's Disease. Mum also had heart troubles, and died 2001 after a lot of heart/lung problems. On my Dad's side, there is a lot of cancer, as well as the problems I mentioned. My Dad died of bladder cancer. Maggie
  2. My mother's side is English/Scotish. I don't think her family had celiac disease anywhere. Just thyoid trouble (which I also have). My father's side is mainly English. I'm not too sure what else. I think Dad had coeliac disease. (He passed awy at 88 this past August). He always had trouble with his stomach, and used to gag on food etc., have a lot of pain...
  3. It is like a light has come on in my head since I started reading the posts here! Recently, I have started gagging on some foods, mainly meat. It is really embarrasing when it happens in front of people. Trying to hide the fact that I cannot swallow it, or spit it out is simply aweful. How do you handle it when in that situation Tiffany?   4. Wow, I'm finding out that a lot of what I thought was just MY problems, are really common for a lot of coeliacs. I crave sugary food something chronic. I can't eat proper chocolate because of migraines. I've assumed I'm allergic to it. But if I get anywhere near white chocolate, I eat the lot in one sitting. It seems like a real addiction...is it maybe...
  5. Hi everyone. Well, I've been gluten-free for just one day, having received the results of my biopsy and blood workd two days ago. which confirmed why I have had pain and problems since I was a baby. I'm now 48! So, it's a final relief....(well, at least I know now). With Christmas coming up, there's going to be get-togethers with family and friends...
