  1. Have any of you had problems with Carlson brand of vitamins? I know they're not sure if their facilities are CC'd but they do know that all their products are gluten free so I just want a second opinion. Thanks!
  2. I'm a major nut eater and I always eat planters -at least most of their peanut, mixed nuts, and cashew brands do not contain wheat. But I heard from them about a year ago that they don't know about if their facilities are gluten free they just know that they'll tell you if they are free of the "common allergens". Nuts Online have gluten free raw cashews...
  3. Does anyone know where to purchase gluten-free hummus and cocoa nibs? I was specifically wondering if the former could be bought from Henry's (I think they have a gluten-free one, any info. on that?), and if the latter could be from Trader Joe's? Thanks all!
  4. I was wondering if microwaving sponges is okay, that is if the heat somehow creates "gluten-vapors" that you might breath in? Thanks Also, I feel like saying that if anyone wants anti-oxidants Countrylife has a good gluten-free brand. It doesn't really affect my question but I figured "why not add it".
  5. then just to double check, I think I'll be keeping my glass out in the open (in a space w/little chance of gluten CC) for about 1 hour not upside down. I think that should be okay? (Sorry, I'm kinda hypochondriac on this)
  6. Does this rule apply to every gluten-intolerant person or should some people store away their stuff even if there's little chance of aerial gluten?
  7. What are your experiences -is it safe to leave utensils/cups out of a cupboard as long as the area is pretty gluten-free or should one keep their utensils stored away?
  8. I'm pretty sure it is but just double-checking...
  9. So I'm guessing the butcher's counter at vons is perfectly gluten free?
  10. I just buy meat pre-packaged from the supermarket (away from the butcher's counter)where it is not immediately butchered before me.
  11. I thought, that at the market, because the butchers also deal with "pre-seasoned meats" and such that there are CC issues?
  12. I suppose the butcher's is too "gluteny" to order liver from them. So if not them who? Where should I turn to get some liver?
  13. If I use my own cup and if altar wine is gluten free, I might be able to take the wine at communion. But I've heard equivocal things about wine's gluten-free-ness. Is it frequently glutened? Are most wines glutened by wheat paste seals or some other source? Or are most american wines safe? Thanks!
  14. I noticed that they test for beneath 5 ppm of gluten. Does anyone react to only 1 ppm -how sensitive can people be?
  15. Just further purifying my diet, and I wanted to see what gluten free, unprocessed nuts are out there? I suppose that I could order them over the internet or go to a farmer's market? Thanks
  16. Hmmm, well when I'm feeling "eh" I usually feel like I've been glutened except to a very low degree. Like constipation w/occasional pain is how I feel immediately after I eat gluten. But when not, I feel a very slight pain (from incomplete evacuation?) in my lower left colon right after I'm done poohing (excuse the image). Is this close enough to my gluten...
  17. I've had bouts of a week or two where I'm feeling glutenened. Oppositely I have times where I feel totally normal. But the great majority of the time I feel more "in-between" with an emphasis towards the normal end of the spectrum. My question is, is this "abnormality" after this amount of time enough to warrant looking for a new diagnosis. Is it enough...
  18. I was wondering about communion and to figure out if I can take it, I suppose I should get a celiac-test. My only question is whether or not this is advisable since these tests are not accurate enough and plus I already feel good gluten-free. So what would be the best test for celiac? Should I take it (maybe multiple times?)? Thanks all!
  19. I'll be honest with you, I'm not an expert, but those food don't seem to be coming out normally. Granted that this is coming from an adult but still, I think it is not normal for even a baby. Some cause for concern is presented.
  20. wait a second -Costco=Kirkland? so that means all kirkland brands are ok?
  21. Well, its been about one year since going gluten-free and it has made me feel better; sometimes I even have totally normal days. But for about a week I've been getting more constipated (my normal glutening feeling) and yet not without some differences. For instance, I don't get the pain and immediate onset of constipation as I normally did when I got CC....
  22. Hi, Is parchment paper gluten free? I heard it was but that was a long time ago. Thanks
  23. Well some dates for instance, are so coated in order to keep the fruits from sticking together as I've heard.
  24. I was wondering if there should be a celiac wiki or if there should be updated info. on wikipedia? This is because as I was trying to figure out what my condition was, I would frequent wikipedia sometimes for "food for thought". But never once was it mentioned that constipation was a part of the problem so all the while I thought even porphyria was a better...
  25. I was going to call them and I've seen their FAQ but I noticed that they don't mention fruit. Now some fruit is dusted with gluten -do you know if oceanspray does this? Do I have enough info. or should I call them? Thanks
