  1. i'm getting closer to an official diagnoses for my son. his GI doc is counting on his blood work to come back positive this week. i plan on doing any necessary testing to have a diagnoses. we'll also be testing my daughter and i may pursue a biopsy for me since my blood work came back negative. once that happens i will need to educate family on our new...
  2. i could say the same as Reba32, 100% better but not 100%. i was excited this morning that i felt like blow drying my hair and brushing my teeth. a month or two ago i would have just sat back down and probably fallen asleep. i think i need to pull a few more things from my diet but everyday is better then the last.
  3. his appt. is this afternoon. we had blood work on Friday but i'm not expecting the results for a few more days. i'm excited yet scared to figure this all out. i just want him to feel better and not be embarrassed by his bodily functions. we had been gluten-free since Thursday and he got into some cake at a friends party on Saturday night. within an...
  4. my 6yo son has been complaining of stomach aches since school started last fall. that was also when we started eating dairy and wheat after being off it for nearly 6 months. it has been getting worse and worse over the months. a few weeks ago i finally got our ped. to take some stool samples after we eliminated dairy and he was still having stomach aches...
  5. when i went on my first round of gluten/dairy free diet i lost nearly 30lbs in 5 months. at the time i was 5 months post partum, breastfeeding(burns around 500 calories a day) and working full time on my feet. i was not eating enough fat but i also think a lot of that weight was inflammation. i've been on and off gluten for the last 1.5yrs and gained back...
  6. i have KP as do my sister and mother. they both have gluten intolerance. my mother has thyroid issues also. my daughter seems to have skin issues and she has a wheat intolerance. there's definitely a connection with our family.
  7. unfortunately my oven does not have a self cleaning option. can i just bake it as high as it will go for a significant amount of time? i just got a KA mixer for Christmas with enameled attachments. i'm just going to give them a super cleaning and call it good. i think i've only used it maybe 12-15 times. what about silicone cookware? i got two...
  8. i've been reading through old post and i've an idea of where to start. i'll be replacing my beloved cast iron pans, wooden cooking utensils and my metal strainers. what about wood cutting boards? can i sand them and oil them? can i clean my stainless steel pots or do they need to be replaced? do i need to replace my toaster oven if i order a new rack...
  9. my daughter(2.5yo) has terrible teeth. she showed an intolerance to wheat via IgG testing. her four top teeth have severe decay and many of her molars are quickly crumbling. her hair and nails also break very easily and he skin is super sensitive. i'm about to take her back off gluten/wheat and try to heal her system. hopefully it's not to late to...
  10. hi everyone. i've been lurking for a few weeks and have learned so much from reading everyone else's experiences. since there's not an introduction board i guess this is the best place to start. i suspect i've had life long issues with gluten/wheat. as a child i had chronic stomach aches. i spent a few years bouncing around from doctor to doctor and...
