  1. Happy birthday and may God bless you today!

  2. Most of my tests were negative, and I was only attempting a gluten-free diet when the blood tests all came back negative. In the summer, Two of three came back negative and one was inconclusive (not sure which one). An endoscopy revealed a hyatal hernia, colonoscopy revealed nothing but fissures and hemrhoids. The scan they did (not sure the name of scan...
  3. I was 27 when I had my colonoscopy. I survived.
  4. Maggie - I've been rocking back and forth for years!!!! It's sad, but I'm hoping to get some much needed relief. I have medication for the fissures and hemrhoids, but I haven't had the money to get it filled.
  5. I started having noticible stomach problems back in January of 2004. I'm not sure if they just occurred out of nowhere. I had been pregnant for two years (my kids are 2 1/2 and 17 months), so there were obviously changes in my body that I just blamed on pregnancy. Anyway, back in January '04, I talked to my PCP about stomach cramping. I couldn't really...
  6. Thank you again for all of your responses. I saw my new GI last week, and he gave me some MiraLax, and it seems to be working. My only problem is that I don't want it to work to the point where I might get diarrhea, but the doctor said that I can just take it once every other day or even less if it starts to get to that point. Relief! Thank the Lord!
  7. BamBam, I think I saw the commercials for zelnorm. Isn't it for women with IBS like symptoms, pain and bloating, etc.? Every time that commercial comes on, my husband elbows me and tells me I should get that. I will talk to my doctor about that on Monday. Thanks. Jud, Yeah, when I had my colonoscopy over the summer, I figured that my system would be...
  8. Thank you all for your replies and advice.
  9. WARNING: THIS E-MAIL MAY GROSS YOU OUT! Okay, so I'm sure that most of you are having the opposite problem. I've been constipated since I had my first child . . . he'll be three in May. I'm not just talking about being irregular. I'm talking about not being able to go at all for days at a time (up to a week) and crying at the though of having to prepare...
  10. I've had the worst moodswings and have dealt with depression and anxiety for almost a year. I am thanking celiac for that.
  11. Hello all. I'm having a hard time grocery shopping. It takes forever. I was wondering if anyone had a list of regular gluten-free foods that I can get at a normal grocery store. Are there items that you buy on a regular basis that are currently gluten free? (I know, check the ingredients often in case they change). I have lists from various sites with...

    ARCHIVED Survey

Celiac: I guess so. My bloodwork was "questionable", my biopsy was negative, my gene bloodwork was "questionable", but the expert my GI sent all of my tests to says I "probably" have it. Diabetes: Glucose test two days ago. Waiting for the results. Will let you know. Sex: Female ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I also had...
  13. Alrighty! Thanks for your help with my evergrowing inability to understand modern technology, despite my profession.
  14. No! It looks the same. Oh well!
  15. Oh, wait! I don't like that font. This might be better.
  16. Here's my post. I'm checking to see if I have a signature. Hello all!
  17. Thanks SO much for the survival guide. I'm having such a difficult time sticking to the gluten-free diet. Our funds are so very limited that sometimes, when we run out of gluten-free items, I have no choice but to eat some mac&cheese or romain noodles. This is definitely a rich man's disease.
  18. whimsygirl: I've gained four pounds since my last weigh in at my doctors six weeks ago. I know it's because of those darn McDonald's M&M Frostys . . . or could it be the two a day Snicker bar habit I have? The Doritos probably aren't helping either. It seems that once I found out that I could eat these things, I decided to splurge daily, and now...
  19. I've only been gluten free for less than a month. But I'm having new problems. I've been getting dizzy . . . like a feeling like I'm overly medicated (even though I'm not on anything). I kind of feel blurred vision or like I'm out of my body and things are going around me so slowly . . . like I can't concentrate or remember things. This cannot be normal...
  20. Well, I've only been gluten free for less than a month. But I'm having new problems. I've been getting dizzy . . . like a feeling like I'm overly medicated (even though I'm not on anything). 21. Hi Voni. Unfortunately, many of the gluten-free foods specifically made to be gluten free are expensive. However, there are mainstream foods out there that are naturally gluten-free. I know I came across a link on one of the boards on this very site that allowed me to print out lots of items at a normal grocery store that I could buy. Hienz ketchup is...
  22. Hello all. I am newly celiac disease, and I was wondering what else I should get tested for. I don't really care for my current Gastro Dr. and am planning on switching docs, but there aren't any available slots until March, but I'm sure there are things my pcp can handle. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

    ARCHIVED Cd & Exercise

You should try a treadmill. Of course, I have a membership at a gym that I haven't been to in a month or so. I'm new to gluten-free, so I'm having a hard time getting adjusted, and I'm SO SO SO tired.
  24. Yes, Tammy. That's the mix I bought. I'm excited about making it, but I have a full-time job plus two in diapers, and since I'm just starting my attempts of gluten-free life, I'm too tired to do much, but boy would I love a piece of bread that taste like bread. My grandfather used to make it all the time when I was a kid (of course it wasn't gluten-free...
  25. Hi. I'm from Pittsburgh, PA. But the chain grocery store your talking about is not here. DARNIT! We do have Giant Eagle, and they have a few isles of all natural foods (including a bunch of gluten-free stuff in the mix). Last night, I bought a bag of gluten-free bread mix and some of that rice bread in the frozen section. I haven't had the chance to...
