Thanks guys! So 2 cups authentic brown rice flour, 2/3 cup ptoato starch, 1/3 cup tapioca flour and then how much Guar or Xanthan? Again I'm terrible in the kitchen. This is all new to me! Or King's -

So you're saying you mix brown rice flour by Authentic foods with tapioca and potato starch? What would the amounts be of each? -
ARCHIVED Question Of Best Flour For Recipe
Lily127 posted a topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
First let me say I'm terrible in the kitchen but I'm trying! I have a recipe that uses butter, brown sugar, vanilla, eggs, baking powder, salt, white chocolate chips and shredded coconut. I made this before I knew I should be gluten-free and it was GREAT. It calls for 2 1/4 cups All Purpose Flour. Was wondering what you guys thought would be the right... -
ARCHIVED Amy's French Country Vegetable Soup
Lily127 replied to Lily127's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Yes, I don't like black beans either! This one has White Beans. I'm learning alot about beans from eating Amy's soups actually. This soup is soooo tasty. My palate is not sophisticated at all so for me this is like really exotic with beans and zucchini AND it's not overly spicy but it just smells so good too. I wish I could eat gallons of it! -

CareOne just recalled some Alcohol Swabs due to potential bacteria exposure. Aren't they the Shop & Stop brand? Have you ever taken CareOne before? -
ARCHIVED Food Intolerances - Sometimes Makes No Sense!
Lily127 replied to catarific's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Yes it is wierd! I definitely do better overall when I include more vegetables for fiber but you know how it goes, sometimes you just can't get yourself to eat them but without them you can get backed up. -
ARCHIVED Food Intolerances - Sometimes Makes No Sense!
Lily127 replied to catarific's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Sometimes if I'm constipated (which I am alot) I can get D just from the build up. Like if I don't go for several days and then eat something fatty or greasy (even if it's gluten free) I will suddenly get bad diarrhea and everything comes out. I don't know if that's your issue but it's happened to me enough times to suspect that it's not necessarily gluten... -
ARCHIVED Amy's French Country Vegetable Soup
Lily127 posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I bought a can of this soup and didn't expect to like it so much but it's very tasty. It's kind of fiber-packed and a bit on the oily side so I have a feeling it might go through me for those reasons. Wondered what experiences people have had with Amy's in general. I don't think her lines are dedicated. I don't seem to remember a reaction but I think I'm... -
Just wanted to say I've been on Ambien for 10 years and have maintained the same 10mg dose with good results in that it helps me sleep when nothing else did. Fall asleep I should say. I also gave it up in 2006 for 2 months and then was back to my normal can't fall asleep routine but luckily didn't find the absence of it too traumatic. I'm in alot of...

ARCHIVED Hand Weakness And Reduced Dexterity
Lily127 replied to Jacky's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I wanted to chime in and say I'm sorry for your pain. I get severe joint/tendon issues of late and I know how scary it is to not be able to turn a faucet or press the lotion bottle thingy down or open a bottle. That being said I have fibromyalgia. I'm never sure if it's gluten or fibro but the odd thing is that since I've been trying to go gluten free in... -
ARCHIVED Frito Lay New Updated List
Lily127 replied to GFreeMO's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I tried Lays Pepper Relish and really liked them. Didn't seem to have a reaction. I also tried Cape Cod's Five Cheese flavor but just didn't like the taste so I guess it doesn't matter if that one gave me a reaction or not (which it didn't seem to). I thought Cape Cod used to have a flavor called cheddar cheese and sour cream but they don't seem to make... -
ARCHIVED Poll: How Were You Diagnosed? (Or Were You?)
Lily127 replied to flutterby's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I got an Enterolabs stool test that came back slightly above normal which they said meant no more gluten. I had biopsies that were negative and blood was negative but when I took gluten out of my diet my stomach improved. My triglycerides are normal now as well for the first time in 12 years. I can't believe it -
ARCHIVED Gluten Free White Chocolate Bars
Lily127 replied to Lily127's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Oh wow thanks so much!! I don't know why I always feel like I'm treading water with this stuff. Like I should have known Toblerone was gluten-free. I guess I'll get it eventually. Today I bought Ghiardelli Vanilla Bean Squares. It said they are processed on equipment containing nuts and tree nuts so I felt it might be safe but given I don't really like... -
ARCHIVED Gluten Free White Chocolate Bars
Lily127 posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Hi all I am on a low oxalate diet and can't really indulge in regular chocolate. Does anyone know a good white chocolate candy bar? I was eating M&M's until my bladder started to protest the high oxalate content. I used to eat Lindt's White Chocolate Coconut bars but I read that they may be cross contaminated! Any suggestions would be great... -
I definitely feel less emotional/sad/angry the plainer I eat, less sugar, etc. Last time I had gluten (on purpose - I know, I'm ashamed) I felt TERRIBLE emotionally. I was shaky and was laying in bed with a massive anxiety attack. I don't know if it was just that I was mad at myself for cheating but it felt awful. It's experiences like that that make me...

ARCHIVED New Here W/ A Million Or So Questions (Important Ones Though)
Lily127 replied to jjb1234's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Hi Jen I'm too new to this myself to really address your questions but I will say I too have been diagnosed with Fibro, IBS, CFS and IC (as a youngster). I gave up gluten about 3 months ago and my bowels have improved alot. The rest has yet to improve but I think it takes more time. The first thing I would do is just try to stick to no gluten for now... -
ARCHIVED Trader Joes Taco Shells
Lily127 replied to mamarie's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Oh and I read the Celebrex (which I think is only made by one company because there is currently no generic) is Gluten Free on the drug list. I can't remember which list exactly but I'm almost 100% sure I read that Celebrex is indeed gluten-free. Celebrex is a life saver for me in that all the other ones never worked. I think Celebrex is the only Cox ... -

They were packaged nuts. I guess bin nuts are bad then? I actually have had strong reactions to Celebrex before but it didn't take that long (like you mentioned). I have to admit I'm feeling rather exhausted with all of this the past few days. I'm also still wondering about my Qualitest Valium since they wrote back to me and basically said they couldn... -
ARCHIVED Need Diet Soda, No Aspartame
Lily127 replied to MyMississippi's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
There is a brand called 'Waist Watchers' that uses Splenda. The Black Cherry is ok but tastes VERY sweet (they might haver root beer too, not sure). In a way it kind of works for me because rather than chugging down 2 glasses of it (or 3) I can just pour half a glass and sip on it to get that sweet taste I'm craving because a little of this stuff goes a... -

Lily127 replied to mamarie's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I'm new to all this and trying to figure out what is what. I was curious, how soon most people experience a reaction. I had been doing really well with no diarrhea for almost two months. I nearly got into a car accident (not my fault) and had back pain so I took a Celebrex last Monday night. Celebrex is infamous for giving me a sick stomach but I felt... -
ARCHIVED Southern Homestlye Cornflake Crumbs
Lily127 replied to Lily127's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
LOL OK, this proves again that I'm a terrible cook. It would seem to me if I took two tablespoons of melted butter and poured it into one cup of crumbs it would just get absorbed in one area of the crumbs. So let me ask, LOL, do you mean coat the chicken first and then sprinkle the butter over the chicken once it's breaded and ready to go into the oven? ... -
ARCHIVED Southern Homestlye Cornflake Crumbs
Lily127 replied to Lily127's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Thanks for the tips! I've never been a big fan of pepper but maybe now I can start to expand my choices to accommodate my new situation. Paprika, unfortunately, really upsets my tummy (even though I loooove it). I was thinking maybe a little onion powder too? I was too lazy for egg tonight so I used milk LOL. I wonder if egg would improve the taste?... -
ARCHIVED Southern Homestlye Cornflake Crumbs
Lily127 posted a topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
First of all I'm a terrible cook, no doubt about it. I just got these new corn flake things and I put a little McCormack garlic powder, oregano, salt and Kraft parmesan cheese in them to fry my chicken cutlet. Fried in Olive Oil. Needless to say it didn't taste too good. What am I missing? Is it Parsley?? One good thing though, these corn flakes don... -
ARCHIVED Milky Way Candy Bar
Lily127 replied to M&M LOVER's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
So M&M's, Dark Milky Ways, Snickers and Butterfingers are good? That's a pretty nice selection. I'm sure there are more but these would tide me over nicely!! Especially M&M's. Yummm!! Though I'm still mad they changed the tan color to blue LOL
