  1. Thanks Sroomie (and everyone else). Just called the doctor that klark's friend recommended . They need a referral. Now the question is, do I ask my GI for the referral. Klark said i should just ask him if he thinks he can help me and if not ask him for it. Pfeeling awkward. i see him in an hour and then my brother and SIL will be here for the weekend. ...
  2. Thanks to all my dear psillies for the and support. I don't know what I'd do without you or the laughter this thread gives me. I've been on medicine for the ulcer for a month (he didn't want to see me before I had been on it for at least that long). Never heard about the blood work for the H Pylori so I'm assuming I didn't test positive for it. Of course...
  3. I'll be there in spirit. Looking forward to hearing how it goes! Loey
  4. I can't wait to hear how the shoot goes. I was a TV technician for 20 years. Prepared for them to move things around. Loey
  5. I wish he could but my brother and SIL are flying in from Va. and he needs to pick him up at the airport at the same time that my appointment is. I really think that if the GI doesn't have any new suggestions (or returns to being dismissive) I'm going to try a different doctor. I've given up eating almost everything between the celiac and the ulcer. I'm sick...
  6. Hope you're pfeeling better curlyfries. I'm still spending most of my time in bed. The pain is worse. Seeing GI tomorrow. My brother and SIL are flying in from Va. for the weekend. I really want to be able o enjoy the visit. Loey
  7. She'll definitely come back for breaks. If she's like my son she'll bring lots of laundry. OK, really going to class now (really don't want to leave the house). It's a torrential downpour so that doesn't help. Loey
  8. So sorry about last night. Sending lots of healing (((HUGS))) Loey
  9. They sound understanding so is there a way you can bring a cooler and heat your food as you need it? That way you can be 100% sure it won't be CC'd. You've got my total empathy. I've been in excruciating pain and i think it's the ulcer more than the celiac. I would have called my doctor but I already have an appointment on Friday. Hang in there an remember...
  10. On this forum no one and nothing ever sounds crazy. We're here to totally help each other. Getting glutened can cause depression and anxiety but also just having this illness can cause it. I've been in pain for almost 2 months now (an ulcer added to the mix) and I know that it's causing me to be depressed and anxious. Just remember that you're not alone....
  11. P.S. here are some more links that you might want to share with sister #2. Hope that it helps her to understand the importance of you not getting glutenized! BTW, the links below are more informative than the first post. Loey
  12. Clearly sister # 2 does not understand the severity of how gluten affects us. Most supermarkets now have a Gluten Free Section. She can easily find broth there that is labeled gluten free (I think Pacific is one brand). In the future I would just politely pass on her soup. Another option is to offer to buy her the broth to use as the stock. Your health is...
  13. I'm so sorry for your reaction to your Thanksgiving dinner. It must have been a terrifying experience. It doesn't take much to set you off if you're new to celiac and if you're sensitive to nitrates. There are also other ingredients in those products that can affect us. Boarshead has gluten-free meats. They're the safest bet. Being new to this diet I think...
  14. Shroomie, what would we do without your knowledge and wit? Hope we never have to find out!!!!!!!!!!! ((HUGS)) Loey
  15. If she's going to Brown I have a handsome son who'll be a sophomore. Thank you all for the love and support. You guys are the absolute best and I'm blessed that Karaaanngg brought me here!!!!! Lots of Loey
  16. Were you gluten-free when you had the tests that were negative? That could cause it. I was newly diagnosed in June and my GI said that she thought that I had it for decades. Right now I'm concerned about the damage that may have already been done to my organs. The vilii in my duodenal is nonexistent. If you're feeling better without eating gluten than follow...
  17. If you are already following a gluten-free diet the tests might come up negative. It depends on whether or not you want a doctor to confirm the diagnosis. Loey
  18. Welcome to the forum. Here's a list of medications that are supposed to be gluten free. As with everything else we need to carefully read the labels. Also, I have discovered many foods that are gluten free that I am intolerant to. It is an individual thing. I've discovered that I have a lot of food allergies. You've found the best place in the world to...
  19. She's gorgeous!!!!! Mine is a freshman in college this year. I still haven't figured out how to attach a photo. Bet you're not ready to let go. I know I wasn't!!! Loey
  20. Thanks to all my well wishing psillies. I still don't know why I pfeel worse. I see my GI on Friday and Klark is insistanting that if he doesn't have any new suggestions that I go to the doctor his friend uses. I'm really tired of this set back. Other than eating potatoes (gluten-free) on duck day I haven't cheated, yet the pain (Celiac and ulcer is worse...
  21. You got a plus for suggesting the con setting!!! Just mad I ate the potatoes and basted with OJ but that's on me. Now off to shower and see if I'm up to seeing HP again Loey
  22. Hello My dear Psillies, The quackers were delicious but I basted them in a combination of OJ and grape jelly ( it was yummy) but I've been paying for it with my ulcer ever since. I also was a bad girl and ate some of the potatoes. Spent all of yesterday in bed. Hoping to feel well enough later to go see HP again with the boys. We assumed that Tony had...
