  1. You're welcome! I'm lucky that my husband and son understand my special needs (and that gluten will never be in my house) but when i try to explain it to others I get a glazed look. Glad if you'll be able to show it to someone and have them learn what it means to be on this diet and what it does to us if we're not. Have a happy gluten free Thanksgiving...
  2. I'm with you Shroomie, it doesn't look good. Still keeping them in my prayers. Loey
  3. Think you need BE to keep you warm!!!! Sending lots of warm ((((HUGS)))) Loey P.S. Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!!!!!! Going to pick up our son this afternoon so I'll be cooking my arse off and doing non stop laundry (that is when he's not singing in the shower where the washer/dryer are)
  4. Hi Bobby Jo, Welcome to our family. I was diagnosed last June after being bedridden for 6 weeks. After running the gamut of tests my GI gave me the test results literally the night before we moved to a new state. I had severe celiac disease and she thought it had gone undiagnosed for decades. When we got to our new state I found a GI and had my son genetically...
  5. I've posted this on other threads but there's a great company that sells gluten-free products body called Body Sense. Go under their special products to find those that are gluten-free. Loey Open Original Shared Link
  6. I personally use gluten-free make-up and shampoo products. If you use it in your line of work then I think using gloves should be al right. The main thing with shampoos for ourselves is if they drip into our eyes or mouths. Loey P.S. Peter posted something about this a way back
  7. I'm with you about firing the doctor. Demand the test or fin a new doctor. Whether or not the believe it doctors are not Gods! Loey
  8. Shroomie- you rock!!!! Loey
  9. Sometimes the pharmaceutical companies that make the product will give it to you. It would be worth checking into. I know AstraZeneca does that when a patient can't afford to pay for their prescription. Loey
  10. Welcome Kim, I think you have just found the most amazing group of people you could ever hope to find in one place on this forum. I joined in October and have learned something new every day. As for taking time of from work you need to decide if that's best for you. I'm currently on unemployment because I'm not able to work and am considering switching...
  11. Welcome and yes, if it was used with regular bread then I personally would replace it. I don't know how thoroughly you can clean it from the the cross contamination. Loey
  12. You might be sensitive to dairy. I cut it out of my diet. You might want to try going dairy free for a while. Loey
  13. I hit the plus button to even it out. But stick to the gluten-free diet!!!!! Loey
  14. Sending lots of thought, prayers and positive energy and will continue to do so! Hugs, Loey
  15. Jewish Penicillin is chicken soup. The ingredients are an old Jewish remedy for curing a cold (or whatever else ails you). It's basically the regular way you make chicken soup and it supposedly helps to cure you faster. That and being made with love (#1 ingredient). Keeping him fed in my gluten-free restricted house will be the trick. Your dinner last...
  16. Thanks!!! As a relative newbie i appreciate your input. Loey
  17. I appreciate your insight and wisdom. I wholeheartedly agree with you. When I initially went gluten-free I was using products that were marked gluten-free but had ingredients in them that I was allergic to and due to the FDA not having stringent labeling rules I had a major flare. Right now I'm following a very strict diet (rice, veggies and eggs). Pretty...
  18. The pic was Russell Brand who married Katy Perry. Loey
  19. Here's a picture of him. He just married Katy Perry. Loey Open Original Shared Link
  20. We watch it and can't imagine who's going to replace him. Have you seen the British version? Ricky Gervais is another favorite of mine. He's making a fortune on the residuals of both versions of the office. Back to Russell brand. I do find him hot but have to admit to a very long lived crush on Robert Downey Jr. My son finds it gross. Loey
  21. I know I'm a very bad girl!!! Loey
  22. Great information!!! We all have to know what we're sensitive to. Unfortunately as I mentioned I'm sensitize to more than gluten right now. I rather give up food than be in pain and/or depressed. I'm cooking Thanksgiving and it will be gluten-free but I won't be able to eat everything I make for my husband and son (can't handle potatoes right now). I'm going...
  23. Nikki, Where do you live? When we were first coming up to our new house we frequented an Irish Diner and I LOVED the bangers. I never connected them to the fact that I suffered the big D within a half hour. Now my husband and son go there without me as everything is cooked on the same grill and there's no way for me not to be glutened. Boy do I ever...
  24. Now that sound phallic (tee-hee) time to get my mind out of the gutter. This thread is certainly good for what ails you! Thanks to you all (and mostly Kareng for bringing me here and walking and pfeeding me). Loey
  25. I make a rice omelette for breakfast frequently and it's delicious. Loey Off to see HP in a half hour Perhaps that will cheer me up. I HATE being in the dumps!
