  1. B12 and iron deficiencies definitely can contribute to hair loss. If you haven't gotten your iron or b12 checked, that's a really good idea (as is getting your thyroid checked). Make sure that for iron the ferritin is tested and for b12 MMA & homocysteine are also checked, because you can have deficiencies that don't quite show up on standard b12...
  2. I hope there's not like 30000 threads of this nature out there, but I need a place to say it! Almost 3 weeks in--My anxiety, heartburn, and general moodiness are easing up (still there, but easier to deal with). Liquid poo looks to be a thing of the past. I have some gas, so some food isn't agreeing with me I think (eggs? I had eggs today). Baby...
  3. My dad made turkey stuffed with apples and celery (he consulted me and ACTUALLY LISTENED before going and making it! Thank god ). We also had mashed potatoes and gravy made with cornstarch. My dad said he almost liked the cornstarch better because it made the gravy so thick. And the apple added very interesting flavor to the turkey. They had stuffing, and...
  4. I still live with my parents, and at a job where I make barely over minimum wage, it's going to stay that way for awhile. God, this would be 15000 times easier living on my own. I haven't been officially diagnosed (I can't bring myself to deal with more doctors right now). So I'm doing gluten-free on my own (I guess I may have to see docs if I still have...
  5. I've been gluten free for TWO WHOLE DAYS! Such a long time! I have CONSTANT HUNGER OMGGGG. I *did* use the search function and it seems the feeling hungry all the time is normal, and that increasing protein and decreasing sugar is helpful. Also, small meals frequently. I'm thinking about keeping a food diary, but I don't typically have dedication for...
  6. I went to this doc on recommendation, but she's so far away and really not worth the drive. But I guess I can call a bunch of offices nearby and see what their knowledge of celiac is.

    ARCHIVED Tampa Bay Gi Doc?

Thank you, it's so nice to have someone spell this stuff out for me (and I'm not being sarcastic either--I'm a prime example of why "common sense" isn't actually that common xD). Well, I'm young too, and have no experience with this awfulness. I might have to write myself a script here. I can call a lot of offices; that makes me nervous, but not as bad as...

    ARCHIVED Tampa Bay Gi Doc?

I guess it doesn't need to be a GI doc... Does anyone know a doc in the Tampa Bay area that takes celiac seriously? Like, I can almost certainly get the celiac panel done if I go in and ask for it? I have stomach pain and stuff, but admittedly my biggest symptoms are fatigue, depression, and anxiety. But doctors make me REALLY REALLY UNBELIEVABLY anxious...
  9. At work we've been warned about copier material scams (companies trying to sell you a "good deal" on, say, toners, where "good deal" means charging 10x as much as the legit company), so I'm not surprised some people out there are doing this. Ugh.
  10. Hi everyone. I'm 21 (My mom was still woozy from the anesthetic, ok? xD). I guess I'll start off by saying I like terrible jokes. It started with seeing a doc about the slight dizziness, fatigue, and numbness in my feet about 3 years ago. After blood tests, the only thing wrong was "Your b12 is a little low." It was about 305. I give her props for seeing...
