  1. My daughter (also 4) had bloodwork and a scope/biopsy. She has no problems with either.
  2. Constant hunger was one of my main concerns when I took my daughter to see the dr. She would eat and 5 mins later ask for a snack, then 5 minutes after that ask for another snack and then start asking for lunch etc. It was silly. She did not eat overly large amounts but just ate non stop. She was always hungry. Since going going gluten free she does not constantly...
  3. Ya, I am in Canada. I will keep looking for a gluten-free Worchestershire sauce.
  4. For the last few months (prior to blood tests) my daughter has complained about an itchy back. She complained more often as the weeks progressed. Before I could not see any rash or bumps, now I do. It is mostly along the sides of her back. We have now been gluten-free for about 6 days. I see a HUGE improvement in many of her symtoms but not this. I would...
  5. The worchestershire sauce I have has gluten. I have not found one that doesn't.....yet.
  6. That was quick! Nothing worse than waiting and giving yourself food you know will make you ill. Good luck.
  7. I normally use a premade mix for Shepard's Pie. What can I use instead??
  8. Is there a place here where favorite recipes are shared/stored? Are they just posts somewhere within this forum?? Can the recipes be posted somewhere together? I am looking for easy but delicious gluten-free dinner recipes. I don't want to spend a fortune or go hunting for strange ingredients. However we are already bored of the few gluten-free dinners...
  9. My daughter is 4 and had a positive blood test.
  10. Would a positive blood test occur with gluten intolerance or ONLY with celiac disease? Do people with gluten intolerance usually have all negative tests but respond to a gluten-free diet? Would you say with a positive blood test and positive response to a gluten-free diet that it is celiac disease?
  11. Darn. Ok, thanks for your tips!
  12. Are these gluten free?
  13. I normally make burritos for dinner using flour tortillas. Tonight I used corn tortillas for my daughter. The corn tortilla did not roll up at all, instead it ripped open in places as I tried to roll. I ended up making her some kind of squished together quesadilla. She ate it but I am wondering if there is some secret to getting them to roll up or if they...
  14. I would like to know the answers to these questions as well! The dr we saw the other day briefly mentioned that positve blood (TTG)in the 40-100 ranges are not positive for celiac. What???? That totally confused me.
  15. My daughter had the scope/biopsy yesterday. Everything looked normal to the eye but we are awaiting biopsy results. We have decided to go gluten free regardless of the outcome. A positive blood test plus many symptoms are enough for me to try her gluten-free. So is it crazy to think that one day of gluten-free would be enough to provide some relief? I swear...
  16. No they are not. I emailed Betty Crocker and they told me they are not available up here. They also said they do not have any plans to make them available in the near future. They did pass along my comments so maybe encourage your sister to send them an email! The more comments they get maybe they will hurry up!
  17. I was wondering how up on celiac research they were. If I will have to point out things they may not know. Just worrying as we wait for biopsy results.
  18. Has anyone seen the pediatric gastro docs here?
  19. Well the test went well, my daughter is a superstar! I was hoping to come out with information that would help us move forward. Instead I am more confused. Eveything looked normal so now we wait (10 days) for the biopsy results. The dr did tell me though that maybe she was false positive, that blood test results in the 40-100 range aren't necessarily positive...
  20. My daughter is having her scope/biopsy today. I am nervous, excited, all kinds of emotions. Wish us luck and answers please!
  21. You at least should have also had the total IgA serum. Without that one the TTG can be false. I would ask if she can run that one as well.
  22. Thank you, that would be great! I am sure that this will be me in a few weeks
  23. Hi. I found this old topic but I was wondering if you were successful in finding any gluten free playdough in Canada or if you found a good home made recipe? Thanks.
  24. My 4 year olds blood test was positive (TTG IgA was 41) and her biopsy/scope is Monday. Should I over gluten her to try to get a positive diagnosis or do you think we will get one without overdoing it on the gluten? A few more days until we have all our answers, can't wait! Also, when it says she can have clear fluids until 5am and then nothing, what are...
