  1. I have been gluten free since Sept. 2010, but off and on I go through bouts of issues and I am not always sure why. I did try to keep a food diary, but as soon as I was feeling better I stopped. I'd like to know how everyone is logging their food. I mean, how is it organized? What info should be recorded etc... Thanks in advance to the help. I am feeling...
  2. I'm so sorry that you are dealing with the pain and mental anguish. You and I became gluten free about the same time, so I have no real advice to offer. I just want you to know that we all know how it feels to be told...."everything came back normal; there's nothing more we can do for you right now." Please hang in there; get help for depression if you...
  3. No Advice; but am praying that you and the baby make a very speedy recovery.
  4. Thanks for posting. I found it to be very helpful.
  5. For years I have noticed that my brain doesn't work like it used to. I thought that gluten free was going to be my answer, but I still struggle with slow thinking and not being able to manipulate complex ideas in my head...It is so frustrating!!! I hate to say it, but I feel like I am getting dumber. In meetings I listen to others speak and project ideas...
  6. As with the others, the more I eat the worse it gets. I order enchiladas in our local restaurant who are typically careful, but after taking three bites I knew something was wrong. They had used flour to thicken the sauce. I stopped eating as soon as I got the first stomach pain. I was symptomatic for 2 days, but I know it would have been much worse if I...
  7. It's just nice to know that they are thinking about you when they order and they eat. That your situation does not go unnoticed. Sounds like your hubby is a keeper, too.
  8. Wow!!! What an amazing friend. Thanks for sharing your story! It's the beautiful things in life that keep us going.
  9. Awwwwww, I love it! It's amazing that these little things can really make a huge difference. I'm glad that you are supported in your journey. I know that if feels great!!!
  10. I am so happy your family is starting to support you in a more expressive way. It sounds like you are starting to feel better. I sure hope this is the answer for you. You sound like an amazing person. I am in awe of your maturity. You feel, to me, like an amazing person who will overcome and doing important things with your life. Stay strong. I'm rooting...
  11. The sweetest thing happened to me today. It was my turn to grocery shop and as I was walking through the store filling my basket, while carefully reading the ingredient labels, I looked down at my list and there written next to bread was (sorry ). I almost burst into tears at how sweet it was for my husband to feel bad that he likes to eat sandwiches...
  12. Your post intrigued me, but putting that aside. I agree with the other person who wrote about the gluten challenge; it can be done. Judging by your post I think you will be just fine. It takes a strong person to even suggest such an idea and you seem very committed to this. My only advice would be do plan for the brain fog. When I am affected by cc...
  13. Okay everyone just a little update. I have been feeling very good for the last few days and again today was struck by gluten unintentionally. Today when reviewing this posting I noticed a common food item- the sugar free pudding pack. I'm still not sure it's the culprit, but I went to Hunt's website to explore and they do not give the SF chocolate pudding...
  14. Sorry you feel so bad; hope it lets up soon. I wanted to thank you for the reminder. I had to come home from work today after getting glutened. I'm trying to investigate the culprit and you reminded me that it's not just wheat that is the culprit, so thanks. I hope you feel better.
  15. I had a moment a few days ago. I was walking through Walgreens on my way to fill prescriptions when I rounded the corner and was face to face with Christmas Circus Cookies. I love them!!! Let's be clear that I have probably only eaten them 3 times in my life, because let's face it...they're not good for you, but now I can never have them again. Never! It...
  16. I am brand new to this, but I am shocked about how intense my reactions are. A few months ago I didn't feel well at all, but I was getting through my days eating gluten and not ever connecting the dots of what was making me feel so bad. Yesterday I got glutened after being gluten free for only 4 months and my head was spinning with all the things that...
  17. You all are amazing!! Thank you for all the ideas and information!!! I read the back of the craisen package, which was from WalMart, and it said "may contain traces of wheat." We also have a bag of Ocean Spray that says "Gluten-free" and made in a gluten free facility. I'm pretty sure that must have been it. I haven't been having problems with almonds...
  18. I am new to all of this and had my first "glutening" happen yesterday. I have been gluten free for four months now and this was my first slip up. It was from "trace" amounts of wheat on craisens; won't make that mistake again. Within the first 10 minutes my stomach bloated and started rumbling and making lots of noise followed by migraine, neck pain, brain...
  19. I am feeling terrible tonight and have no idea how I could have been glutened. I had 1 cup of plain yogurt for breakfast followed by dry plain almonds and craisins. For lunch: left over roast beef with veggies that I made, so no chance there, a cup of sugar-free chocolate pudding- I checked the label and finally I took 2 Excedrin Migraine. I am very diligent...

    ARCHIVED Worth Getting Diagnosed?

Thank you all for the information. I think I have made my decision, no endoscope unless it is absolutely needed...for me. I just want to take a minute and say how sorry I am for all of those who have suffered for so long. I have only been sick since March of last year and can't bear the thought of purposely eating gluten again. I am in awe of those who have...

    ARCHIVED Worth Getting Diagnosed?

I am also new to this site and while I have nothing of worth to offer just wanted to say that I am in the same boat. I had blood tests that were moderately elevated, but I had already been gluten free for over a month. I also have vitamin and mineral deficiencies. I am supposed to schedule an appointment with a gastro for the scope but have been dragging...
