It's a bit confusing trying to figure out what symptoms were from gluten or candida because there is such an overlap. I cut out gluten, sugar and dairy all at the same time so it made it harder to figure out. But the symptoms I had include, fatigue, brain fog, dizziness, sugar and carb cravings, super itchy scalp, sinus inflamation, sore throat-ecspecially...

I am not an expert in this area but I did try to treat myself naturally for candida over the summer. I did a lot of research and almost bought threelac but then decided to go for a strong probiotic at the health store. I did this because a couple reviewers stated that it would be just as effective and less expensive...But I don't know for sure? I also completely...

I'm sorry to hear that-that's frustrating. I feel like I need to be my own doctor everytime I go to the doctor. That's interesting about the connection with thyroid and fibroids because I had a fibroid removed from one of my breasts about 3 years ago-before knowing my thyroid was off. I noticed that since cutting out refined sugars and dairy (in addition...

To be honest, I'm not sure what my numbers were? My primary care doctor told me they were normally and my naturopath doctor told me it was a bit sluggish. I am going to look into a selenium supplement and ask my doctor about that. I had symptoms like hair thinning, cold hands and finger nails breaking and I use to have fatique ecspecially in the morning-but...

also- his one story about the patient who had her Hashimoto's antibodies at 128 or something... and the doc wanted her to take Synthroid- but she refused, and then opted to take Kelp... then her antibodies shot up another 100 points... i would assume this is because she did not take the T4 supplement- and so her TPO antibodies went up because her thyroid...

Thanks for your response! I am gluten free and casein free. My blood work for thyroid came back in the normal range-but I had all the symptoms of hypo and 5 people in my family have it). I went to a naturopatic doctor and he tested my thyroid using a meriden stress analysis and found my thryoid to be slightly weak and told me it was primary hypothyroid. Many...

I was wondering if any of you would suggest Spirulina for hypothyroid as a pose to iodine? My thyroid hormone is only slightly off and the doctor prescribed kelp. I am trying to stay away from too much iodine however due to d.h. I realize the Spirulina contains some idoine but not as much. I have also heard that iodine in the long run may not be good for...

ARCHIVED Develop Other Food Allergies Besides Gluten?
Lalama replied to Juls's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
The same thing just started happening to me. Over the last month I began breaking out in hives while eating eggs and a couple of other foods that have never bothered me before. I am still trying to pinpoint what other foods I need to stay away from. I think I am going to start a rotation diet and plan what I am going to have each day to so I can more easily... -

Interesting...thanks for your replies. I am thinking since I have leaky gut syndrome that maybe I am developing other food allergies as well. The gluten free chicken salad I purchased was from a restaraunt so most likely it wasn't organic-normally I don't eat much meat and when I do I only eat organic which doesn't seem to bother me. I have been eating a... -
I am not sure why this happened but the other day I ate some gluten free chicken salad that had a little bit of spice to it. As i was eating it, my scalp and the back of my neck started to burn and I felt this weird sensation like pins and needles. Then today i ate some eggs that I made-and I had a smiliar sensation but not half as bad. Anyone else experience...

ARCHIVED First Menstrual Period gluten-free, Feeling Aweful!
Lalama replied to possiblyglutensensitive's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
The site below may be helpful. In addition to being gluten free, dairy free (and mostly refined sugar free) I try to adhere to this diet at least 5-7 before my period. I don't have endometriosis but extremely painful cramps if I don't eat right. It definitly seems to helps... Open Original Shared Link -
That's encouraging to hear! I just need a little patience

Just a quick update to my post about hair falling out. My thyroid is low even though my blood work came back normal. I went to a naturopathic that knows a lot about the throid. He just started me on supplements a week ago and so far so good. We will see how things progress

ARCHIVED Any Other Foods To Cut Out When You First Go Gluten Free?
Lalama replied to Lalama's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Yeah...I think I will have to do cooked garlic until my leaky gut clears up. I didn't always have this problem-so I am assuming that is what's causing it. Thanks for your response! -
Thanks for all your suggestions I definitly drink a good deal of water-so that's a plus! I have never heard of silicone sheets-sounds interesting, I will definitly look into that as well as the DMAE serum. Now I just need patience

ARCHIVED Any Other Foods To Cut Out When You First Go Gluten Free?
Lalama posted a topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I have been gluten free for about 4 months now. Occasionally when I eat fresh garlic my stomach bloats. A friend of mine told me there are certain foods that you should cut out (besides casein, soy, eggs...and other common allergen foods)that your body reacts to as though you've eaten gluten. She said garlic is one of them. Is this the case? And are there... -
Thank you for your replies! I feel like all the pieces of the puzzle are starting to come together, after all these years of wierd symptoms. Although it is frustrating when these things come and go, at least I know what I need to do to keep them at bay. The only good thing about dh on my face is that, that is what lead me to figure out I needed to give up...

For the last 6 months I have had red bumps right around my mouth area. It started on the right side and then I got them on the left side in the same spot. The dermetologist said that it was perioral dermititis. After I went home and researched it, it said to cut gluten out of your diet. I did just that and after about 3 months my face started to clear up...

On a similar note: Does anyone experience diabetes-like symptoms (i.e. sugar crashes, excessive thirst, etc)? I think the excessive thirst is a side-effect of the Bentyl as it tends to fluctuate in line with dose changes (sometimes I need 3/day, other days just 1 at breakfast gets me through the day) and the sugar crashes could just be the crazy diet changes...

Good idea on taking the vitamins seperately. I just started taking a different multi-vitamin because my last one made me nauseous. I also started taking Dr. Ohhira probiotics...although sometimes I think they are to blame for the nausea? Lots of trial and error!

Thanks everyone for your support and quick responses So nice to have people to share this with-as most other people begin to think your full of it! I forgot to mention that I have been tested for thyroid disorder twice and both times they came back normal. I did however, just read an excellent book called "Why am I still have thyroid symptoms? When...

ARCHIVED How Many People Are Actually Self-diagnosed?
Lalama replied to no-more-muffins's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I am also self diagnosed-with my nutrionist who agreed with me. I had "ibs" issues since I was a child including joint pain, ITP (platelet levels drop extremely low), bad acne, fatigue, brain fog, bad menstrual cycles. Then in 2009 I had dh on the back of my elbows that persisted for eight months and then directly after that I had appendicitis. After the...
