  1. Thanks Shauna! Ya...I'm still confused. I get a migraine usually without fail about 21 hours after eating dairy (mainly cheese)...yet some days where I didn't have cheese or anything dairy the day before I still get a migraine. So I am in the process of doing a daily, in depth food journal. (something I should have started years ago...but better late than...
  2. freihofer's whole grain white doesn't have any milk
  3. Ya, that's what I was afraid of. I am having the hardest time pinpointing anything...especially because I am almost positive whatever it is has a significant delay with reactions. I recently started keeping a very detailed journal, so hopefully that will help
  4. Just curious if anyone here has had the ELISA testing done, and if it was helpful or not. I keep getting so close to finding the answer to my health problems, and I am still convinced it is food related...just looking for a means to find some real answers. Is it accurate? Is it helpful? Also, is it something my GP could do or do I need to go to an allergy...
  5. I actually was thinking that was a possibility too since I eat a lot of lunch meat and things with "caramel color, natural ingredients, etc etc" that I have read could contain casein. However, over the past few weeks where I was headache free I did eat some of those things problem free...which is why I'm confused (and discouraged)
  6. For yesterday, I am sure. I checked every label. All I ate was oatmeal with water and sugar, a sandwich with turkey, lettuce and tomato on whole grain white with 100% natural potato chips, and then popcorn chicken and frozen french fries later in the day...checked he label and saw no dairy. However, the day before, I had pasta with a SMALL amount of parmesan...
  7. About a year ago I actually became a member here and was very active on the board, thinking I definitely had celiacs. I got most of the tests you listed as well as a colonoscopy and biopsy. On top of the that, on my own, I did a FULL gluten free diet for about free months (down to all new cooking utensils and shampoo) with ZERO positive results. At...
  8. I've had many chronic symtoms over the past probably 7 or 8 years...getting worse over the past 2 years. The core symtoms are chronic nauseous, dizzy, headaches/migraines (nearly every day), general fatigue and weakness, and brain fog. I've seen MANY doctors. Multiple GPs, multiple neurologists, a GI, an ENT, eye doctors, dermatologists, therapists, you...
  9. Thanks for the reply! Ya, the only things that really changed were the vitamin D and the diet...got a new script for the D, and trying to stick to a better diet. For the biopsy, do I still need to be on gluten for 3 months? (ive gotten the bloodwork done twice by 2 different doctors while eating gluten, both negative) Thanks again!
  10. Thanks love2travel. I have only had bloodwork done. If I wanted to get a biopsy or something, is 6 weeks eating gluten enough or no? Just don't know what to do next :/
  11. Well the problem is that I felt better going OFF the diet...which is why I am so confused. I guess my bottom line question is could it take 6 weeks OFF the diet for the gluten to start affecting me again? You said that this sounds "dangerous" a few times...what exactly do you mean by that?
  12. I haven't posted on here in a while. I have had a lot of health issues over the past year or so, and decided to try gluten free on my own (negative blood work) I was gluten free for over 3 months with no (noticeable) difference, so I went off the diet. I have been off for about a month-6weeks, and most of that felt a little better, noticeably better...but...
  13. Thanks again guys...and sorry for all the complaining. I guess it boils down to what you were saying...you saw SOME symptoms go (like maybe stomach problems) within the few months...but I haven't. My stomach is worse than it ever was and everything else is the same. I guess that's where my doubt and discouragement comes from. Also, I think me wanting this...
  14. Im just getting more and more depressed (and insanely jealous) reading of all the recent people who felt so much better after days... I really feel like I would have felt somewhat better after months. I know I am repeating myself...but this so discouraging. I feel like I just wasted a lot of money and stress on 3 months of this Dont get me wrong...I...
  15. Earlier in the semester I did try to eat only fresh meat, rice, and vegetables for about 2 weeks. There was no noticeable difference. But once I am home from school, things might be able to be more controlled, and I am willing to try everything. Unfortunately I am going over seas for about 10 days soon after I get home...so that is going to be very hard...
  16. Salax, I have scrutinized every part of my life for gluten as much as I can...from buying all new cooking utensils, pans etc...to toothpaste, etc. I am as sure as I can be that I am 100% gluten free...but I mean, how far do I worry? Should I assume there is something I am missing or not? That is part of the problem :/ I just don't know. I have been mostly...
  17. Ravenwood: I have gotten vitamins etc checked. I have a D deficiency which I am on a prescription for. But I believe that is from dropping dairy (another problem I can tie to actually going on the diet, besides losing more weight than I can give up) I have eaten very little if any processed food over the last few months. Mostly fresh meat/veggies, coldcuts...
  18. First of all, I have been on this board for about 4 months now, and everyone has been nothing but help. Here we go, When I first heard about what celiacs was and its symptoms I was so excited. I have been sick for so long, with nothing even close to an answer. Quick recap: my main symptoms include some digestive problems (upset stomach every morning, after...
  19. Thanks eatmeat4good and Mushroom... I have tried eliminating other things. I didnt eat dairy or soy or gluten for a good chunk of the six weeks. But being in college my choices for food are severely cut enough with gluten, so I added gluten and soy back (after no results either way) I mean, for them, will it also take up to 3 months? It seems like trial...
  20. iamsurar, how long were you on the gluten free diet with no change? And when you say NO change, was there literally nothing? I just feel like if I am cutting 99% (even if I am missing something little) it should help SOME... I have already checked toothpaste, mints, etc...I think I am cutting everything. I was never the hypochondriac type, but now I...
  21. Like everything else I've tried, I was praying so hard gluten was the answer, and so far, like everything else, it has done absolutely nothing. I have had chronic headaches and weakness and most recently brain fog (my scariest symptom) I went gluten free on my own about 6 weeks ago after testing negative through the blood test. The brain fog, headaches...
  22. Hi Zebaldwin, I found this article on flora and apples and I remembered you wanting to improve your flora... this is so neat - eat 2 apples a day! http://intestinalgardener.blogspot.com/

Just wanted to pass it along.. I thought it was an easy, and healthy 'trick'.

  23. I suppose you're right and I think I'm inpatient for a lot of reasons. I do plan on giving it the best try I can though. (even though 4 months sounds like eternity right now haha)
