  1. Thanks Irish heartv:) I think I'm also fishing for reasons why I'm not feeling any better :/
  2. Stupid question, I share a tube of toothpaste with my girlfriend who is not gluten-free. I just read an article saying that could easily contaminate. Is this true? Is that enough to cause a lack of progress for me? Just wondering...and probably over-thinking.
  3. Thanks guys. It is a new, ceramic bowl. Used once
  4. If I want to microwave something gluten free in a bowl that has been used for non gluten free food is it ok to just thoroughly wash it and use it? Thanks
  5. Thanks guys for the continued info, it is all very appreciated! (just need to absorb and and use it correctly!) My plan for now is to continue how I am eating (just gluten free, not really worrying about only eating vegetables and eat), do that for another week or 10 days. If I dont feel better at all, I will go to the stricter diet of just all natural stuff...
  6. The dining halls have a small fridge with "gluten free things". There are english muffins, cream cheese, brownies, and a really small pizza thing, with a gluten-free toaster. That is really it. And I really can't live off of english muffins...which is my concern :/ I think I might starting eating baked beans too for protein. Read that bush's products are...
  7. Is regular dextin gluten free? I bought some dried vegetables to find they had some...and I've been reading mixed opinions on it
  8. Applegirl, When you say you had the same issues, which issues? If you had a yeast infection were you having a lot of digestive problems? My main worry is that like most people here I don't have obvious digestive problems...so that discourages me. thanks for your input! And ya, I have thought of doing just meat and veggies...but that is very hard for me...
  9. Thanks so much guys! This is all very very helpful...still not noticing much of an improvement, but I am going to keep at it for now. Etta, that is what I am paranoid about. Deciding what to eat, but then realizing maybe I am eating one little thing that has one little ingredient that is messing me up...or if I am allergic to something else that I am not...
  10. Did you end up being sensitive to gluten dairy and soy? Why were your symptoms worse? (also, was it hard to keep at it?) I think I am a person with a delay with my symptoms (if it is indeed some kind of food) because it doesn't happen immediately or anything. Thanks for the info!
  11. Thanks a lot guys! Another quick question, If I am the diet and gluten or soy or dairy is a problem, will I feel a little better even if i mess up a couple times with cross contamination or whatever, or will I never know? All I want is a sign that this is working...and after a week I don't have one. But I am sure I have messed up a couple times. I wish...
  12. Thank you guys! It is very hard to do something like this without knowing the outcome, but then again, I have tried a lot of other things! Last night I went out and bought some things. I bought some hormel lunch meat (looked it up on their website) and some hotdogs...I have really missed meat! Also decided to eat some cheese (do you think that is smart...
  13. The dorm has a kitchen with a microwave and an oven. We can't have stuff like that in our rooms. I tested negative on the blood test.
  14. Thank you... I think my biggest problem is I don't know if this is really the problem. It really sounds like it should be, but my blood was negative and I just decided to start cold turkey. Basically I have been eating fruit, vegetables, eggs, gluten free rice, and some "gluten free" labeled frozen meals that I just found out were processed on machinery...
  15. Well, I decided to start the diet Monday in high hopes that gluten was my problem. I have been very afraid to start in fear that it wouldn't help (this kind of seems like my last hope)...5 full days in I don't feel any better...exactly the same. The constant brain fog, weird nauseous headaches/migraines every day, weakness, etc. Maybe I am jumping the gun...
  16. At my school they have a few different frozen dinners that say "gluten free" on them but then they say that they were processed using machinery that also handle wheat....what the? How does that make sense? Should I not eat these. I am trying the diet and it's one of the only "meals" I can eat...
  17. How did you end up finding what foods you had problems with and what deficiencies followed?
  18. thanks october... I'm willing to do anything...I just feel like the possibilities are endless! Plus, neurological symptoms supposedly take longer to "go away" so I might be doing this for a while not even knowing if food (of any kind) is the cause :/ blahhh Thanks!!
  19. reading this kind of scares me...it seems like the list of possibilities are endless. Just curious what your guys symptoms are/were. I have less digestive problems and more neurological (brain fog, migraines/headaches, weakness, fatigue) I started gluten free 2 days ago...but I mean, in your experience do different foods cause different symptoms? It feels...
  20. Thanks GfinDC! I'm just afraid that somehow I'm not doing the whole diet right and that I won't get results (even if I should) Didnt realize how hard it would be living on campus! But I'm trying to get the hang of it. And ya, I have heard that neurological problems take longer. And it will definitely be worth the wait if this is the solution...more than...
  21. I'm in the process of going on the diet myself to see if it is what is causing my problems. I have heard that a lot of people that have problems with gluten also have problems with soy and dairy. Is this true even if the symptoms are more neurological? Also, can soy, dairy, etc cause brain fog/migraines/weakness/fatigue etc as well? I'm asking because...
  22. Awesome. I hope I can be in that boat soon! (Can't imagine what it would feel like to be clear again..)
  23. Did you feel gradually better or was it most noticeable after the 2 weeks?? Like, a day or 2 into it did you know it was helping? (sorry, It's definitely not everyday I get to pick the brain of someone who can at least relate to what's going on in my head!)
  24. Thanks again Aerina... It's just so hard feeling the same...I want immediate results! (even though its only been a day and I dont know for sure this is the problem) I feel like I have exhausted every other possibility and I am really started to lose hope and feeling like I'm never going to get my life back... I know people say it takes about 2 weeks...
  25. Is there a way to know if something has been processed with wheat? I've seen a lot of things I would like to eat, but I'm not 100% sure (beef jerky, cracker jacks, planters cashews. etc). Is the only way just to call? Thanks so much for the help! this definitely has a learning curve...I would be much more enthusiastic if I knew for sure gluten was the problem...
