  1. Hi everyone! So, I know that you have to check with manufacturers to see if their particular vanilla extract is gluten-free. But tonight I'm going out to dinner and having a dessert made with vanilla extract. It's made frm scratch at the restaurant. What exactly should I be asking the chef to make sure that it's gluten-free? Am I asking about which alcohol...
  2. Yes, I'm talking about the fresh spring rolls wrapped in rice paper, not the fried ones. Anyone have any advice on my Thai question? Kris
  3. Hi everyone! So, I've searched the board for answers to this question but am not finding exactly what I am looking for. It seems that most people believe that black olives are gluten-free. Is this ALL balck olives? What about the yummier, green and greek olives? I miss my olives. I also found a listing of gluten-free pickles but still have a question. ...
  4. I took my mom to Mama's on Mother's day and it was incredible! The owner came over to our table every 10 inutes to see how we liked things and just to talk about gluten-free food. I gave him a bunch of new info and he's even going to try and order gluten-free beer!!!!!! He's VERY open to whatever suggestions you may have. The food was amazing and I'm italian...

Fresh spring rolls are also a safe bet as long as you don't use the sauce that comes with them.I've been trying to figure out what's safe to eat at Thai restaurants. I use Thai Kitchen products all of the...

  8. I recently ate at Vinci and it was an incredible experience! The food was amazing and the entire staff was well-educated in celiac. My dessert came out with crumbs on top and as soon as the food runner saw that the dessert was for me he turned right back around and got me a new one.....all this without me speaking a word! They were fabulous! Plus, you can...

    ARCHIVED Seasonings

I'm new to celiac as well and was confused about the whole spice thing. When research says that "spices" aren't always safe does this mean ALL dried spices or just ground spices, such as ground ginger. For example, do I have to worry about something like Oregano or Garlic powder?
  10. You can order it off their website. I had it in NY at a gluten-free restaurant and it rocked! It tastes like an IPA and is a bit hoppy but it was pretty exciting to be drinking beer again It's $60 a case, so a bit expensive but I say just order a cse and drink it at a slower pace than normal. Cheers to you!
