    I made my own version of red beans and rice as I don't like a lot of meats (especially pork) and it turned out pretty good! I checked all labels and search internet and made sure my brands were gluten free. I made white rice in the rice steamer substituted half cup of water with low sodium - gluten free chicken broth to give the rice some "flavor"....

    Don't judge my web designer skills based on that website! LOL We're reworking it. I hope that lip balm helps (I never use lip balm, I live in Texas!). I know it's vegan and gluten free.     Her response to my asking to go gluten free is what "freed" me, I guess you could say. Hearing that I "shouldn't go 'overboard'" with gluten free made me realize that she does NOT know everything and obviously very little about gluten issues!

I'm so glad to read that some of your symptoms are improving and I hope your thyroid meds can start working for you asap.     That's my hope. Since I only had gluten for one meal yesterday (in my return to gluten I had some noodles) I'm just going to consider it an OOPS. I went straight back on gluten free today.

    I've had it up to HERE (ummm.. high up) with my Doctor's! They've for the most part been proactive but they will NOT consider the possibility that I have Celiac's or a gluten intolerance. My GI doctor insists that I have IBS. I DO.NOT.HAVE.IBS.! With IBS your abdominal pain is relieved by having a bm. MINE isn't! With IBS you have recurring constipation...

    Wow, thank you for pointing that out. I did not know that. I was someone who thought that intolerance wasn't as "bad" as Celiac.

    My friend in Dallas eats Open Original Shared Link She says it's good but that it goes "soggy" fast. Austin's pizza did NOT go soggy but if it's good, then it's good! I'd miss pizza if I couldn't ever have it.

    Did you alcohol consumption include beer? I'm sure you know WAY more about gluten diets than I do but I remember my friend who is gluten free saying he couldn't drink beer so that stuck out to me.

    I think that was me. I didn't articulate clearly what I meant. I hope I can say it better this time. I just know that some people are more sensitive than others (kissing a child or spouse who's eaten gluten, etc). I am following a strict gluten-free diet for myself but for now, since I'm in my infancy of gluten-free, I'm hoping that I won't be as sensitive...

    My kids are 13, 6 and 3. I don't think I can take the house completely gluten free at this time (will down the road after I've figured out if this is the right path for me). I am desperately hoping that if I do have a gluten issue, that it is mild and therefore not have to worry so much about cross-contamination and such. I'm going to go with my "gut"...

    You can easily do a WordPress or Blogspot blog and set it to Private (they're free). That way it's online and in a diary like format.

    Ok, there is no sacrificing flavor when you eat a gluton free pizza from Open Original Shared Link! OMG, it was SO GOOD! My husband watched them make it, they use their own utensils, own workstation and own cutters to keep from cross contamination. He said they handled the pizza in a completely different area. And the taste.... OH Yeah! It tastes BETTER...
