  1. I have removed my current avatar several times and tried to boot up a new avatar picture and for some reason it keeps adding this one (it just changes the dimensions of the picture). I do not understand why,I have changed my avatar several times, and I can't seem to get rid of this picture. What's going on?
  2. I get the pregnant bloat sometimes too... not always. But this may be a stupid question- What is gut flora? And what kinds of things should you take to fix your belly- where do you find these things? I'm sorry if that's a dumb question, I am still learning so much.
  3. I have the same problem. But also I feel like I eat the same foods over and over again- and that's not good either. I find it very hard to have variety with this diet. They only variety I get is how many different ways I can top a rice cake. Hmm, I think there should be a nutritionist on this board that could give us all some hints on nutritional variation...
  4. Well, then I guess I won't be taking Sudafed- although it's the one thing that works so well for me. I guess I will switch over to Claritin D which I know is safe. I just don't understand why companies don't understand that they will lose business and valuable customers if they do not research their products more carefully.
  5. I know!! I just got off the phone with them too! I would take the regular Centrum but I can't swallow them. And, I know they (the chewables) were gluten-free last year but I guess everything changes. My body doesn't usually react right away to Gluten so it takes me so long to figure out what is making me sick- I hope I found it.
  6. Have you ever tried Mrs. May's Naturals? They are really wonderful. They are like "nut clusters" they have a little sweetness and a lot of crunch. My favorite are the almond, cashew and sunflower seed varieties. I have bought them at Wal-mart and at my nutrition store- if you see them, give them a try. They are gluten-free and they do not use any artificial...
  7. Thanks! I used to take their calcium tablets, but switched to Viactiv. I hope they have a chewable multi-vitamin!! Thanks for the post! OOHH! They do have a chewable multi vitamin!! Thanks again for the website!
  8. Man, I really need to follow up more on medications.... What does this mean??? Why can't they just test it and find out?! I take Sudafed all the time, should I be worried now? Just goes to show you that even people that have had this (celiac disease) for a little while can still be utterly and absolutely confused.
  9. I have used Centrum Vitamins (Chewables) since I was diagnosed in Jan 2005, at that time my pharmacy called Centrum and confirmed that they were gluten-free. I have taken them since then and since I have been feeling lousy the last couple weeks I decided to call a couple different companies to get their gluten-free info. Well, to my surprise Centrum chewables...
  10. I really missed cheesecake since going gluten-free. I had a recipe for those really cute mini cheesecakes that you make in the muffin tins. Well, the crust originally is one vanilla wafer in the bottom of each muffin liner- and obviously I can't eat vanilla wafers so I improvised. I used 2 cups (which was a little too much) of Envirokids vanilla cookies...
  11. Thanks for replying. This is going to sound really weird, but I don't react the same way a lot of Celiacs do to being glutened. I usually get a headache and a little nauseated- usually not diarrea... So, this is kind of new to me. And, I have thought maybe something else could be making me ill, but what? I already feel like I barely eat!!! Also, I...
  12. I don't really understand my body. I have been careful with the gluten-free diet, and I really do not think that I have been glutened but, I've had diarrea the last 2 days and for a week before the diarrea started I had loose stool (it was like between normal and diarrea disgusting I know, I apologize... ). My stomach feels upset and I feel like I need...
  13. Thank you for the quick response!!!!! I will enjoy!
  14. Are Ore-Ida tator tots (seasoned, shredded potatoes) gluten-free. I didn't see anything on the packaging that would seem suspicious, and my darling hubby just made me some for dinner and they smell grreat- So I REALLY want to eat some! Anyone know?
  15. Hmm... perhaps it was something else then... I am not sure, but I felt crampy! blueeyedmanda- I usually don't have a problem with gluten-free cereals in the taste department. I really like Arrowhead Mills maple buckwheat flakes, and the envirokids cereals. There are a couple good places to shop down here in Lancaster county... in Akron, PA there is...
  16. I've never heard of femglide, and perhaps i should give it a try. I honestly hate and i say that again HATE lubricants, because after sex I have burning/dry sensations. I am very sensitive and my husband and I can not find a lubricant that doesn't irritate me. We've tried astroglide, KY and something else I forget what it was called. Plus, I have an allergy...
  17. I also have TMJ with horrible teeth grinding/clenching. I do not have a mouth guard that is fit to my teeth exactly, but I was given a temporary mouth guard to pillow my teeth from grinding. My dentist said that I should wear the guard during the day if I feel stressful (because I clench my teeth when I get stressed). Maybe that would help... I know TMJ...
  18. I forget whose post I read on here that said the Neopets cereal was/is gluten-free. So I tried it, because lets face it any food you can get in a regular market is worth trying... and I HAD A REACTION!! I ate it for a couple weeks and I usually do not react right away, but I started having horrible stomach pains. I just wanted to ask if anyone else has...
  19. I have a Celtic cross on the small of my back- I like it, but I got it when I was 18 and trying to rebel...ChelsE is right, make sure you really like what you are putting on yourself since it will be there forever!! ChelsE I wanted to ask you a question... my boyfriend has a tattoo and sometimes it gets raised/ puffy and itchy. He's had it for like...
  20. Hey, more power to those of you that can eat the Activia and feel fine. I usually eat Yoplait- but I thought I would try this. I had the peach kind, and it did make my stomach hurt (as well as a few other unmentionable things...). I didn't mean to stir up anything by saying it made me ill- but it's the truth!! I'll stick with the yoplait, and thank you...
  21. WOW!! That's so nice! I always wanted to try a Red Robin, and I am definitely willing to travel for good food and service!! I will have to get to Exton! Thanks for letting me know!
  22. Haha! Side chats are always helpful!! Thank you so much all of you for your advice. The truth is I do feel bashful, because a lot of people look at me as though I am an alien (I am sure many of you know the look- and the feeling). I can be rather shy at times, but I have to grow a spine and explain to people my restrictions so I don't get ill. I'm still...
  23. Thanks... NO WONDER I FELT HORRIBLE!!!!! Oh well, at least I know now. Thanks so much for the info!
  24. I printed out the similar thing from someone else's post and it says to talk to the manager about your restrictions- and since I've really never have done that, I really don't know what to tell him/her. Do I have to tell him about it? Or can I just talk to the waitress? Hmm, this is why I don't go out to eat.
  25. I'm in the long eye lash club too. I wear my glasses lower on my face so my lashes don't brush up against the lens. I also have big eyes, when I was little my mom used to say I looked like a Precious Moments doll. I dont really know if that's a compliment... Oh well, I think that this one indicator of celiac disease that I don't mind having!
