  1. I am going to Chili's tomorrow night, and I really do not go out to dinner very often at all. I was reading someone's post about the gluten-free options for March and it says to talk to the manager... BUT what do I say to him? I realize I tell him I have Celiac, but ( I probably sound soo dumb)... what else do I have to tell him?
  2. Thanks so much for posting... I'm going there for ST. PATTY's!! Sooo happy I can actually eat this time!
  3. I bought Kinnikinnick's pancake mix and I was sooo looking forward to eating them...but when i made them, the pancakes were runny and didn't seem to have the right texture. It seemed like too much liquid or something... I don't know what I did. Can someone help me? Or does anyone know exactly how they prepare them so they are nice and fluffy?
  4. I wasn't crazy about Pamela's products either. I know a lot of people swear by them, but it's a texture thing with me too. I love Kinnikinnick's prepackaged cookies. The Ginger Snaps and Montanas Chocolate Chip cookies taste like "normal" cookies. I agree with the Glutino breakfast bars, I personally like the apple ones. I also love rice cakes, and I...
  5. I am a cereal maniac! I love it.. I was not at all crazy about the Enjoy Life Granola. I got the cinnamon kind and it tasted like cardboard. But hey more power to those of you who enjoy it! I do love the Arrowhead Mills Maple Buckwheat Flakes (MMM), all of the Envirokids cereals, I just got Perky O's in apple cinnamon flavor and they aren't too bad...
  6. French Fries dipped in anything sounds good to me. Sometimes I even dipped them in a Wendy's Frosty... hmm... perfect PMS food! I also dipped doritos in cream cheese... YUM! I'm getting hungry!!!!
  7. HA! me too! I love them!! I wrote an email to Promise (as well) and they sent me a very cryptic e-mail saying their formulas change so frequently and I would just have to read the labels. But, what if they are hiding the gluten? It just seemed so vague... anyone get a straight answer or did anyone ever have problems with Promise?
  8. Hiya! I live in Ephrata- Lancaster County. The support groups that I know of are in Reading, PA at the Reading Hospital- and that would be way out of your way BUT... I wanted to tell you about The Grainless Baker. They are in PA and they can ship their goods to you. They are absolutely wonderful- their bread crumbs taste like "normal" bread...
  9. Does anyone know if Land O Lakes Lactose Free Milk is gluten-free?
  10. I am not sure if anyone here uses Olivio butter products, but I recieved an e-mail that says they are gluten-free. Just thought I would let everyone know!
  11. Is there anything that safe to eat at red lobster???
  12. I really liked the Chebe pizza crust. I thought it was really good and even better the next day. The chebe breadsticks are also really good. I'm really weird about some of the gluten-free food and I really want it to taste like "normal" food and I think the Chebe crust is the closest to normal that I've had in a long time. Vydorscope- I got a whole...
  13. Thanks, Oh and i know about the seperate everything- i've been gluten-free for over a year. But, I've had a few different sauces, and I am always concerned. My fiance eats my gluten-free food, even though he is not gluten-free... that makes everything easier!! Any more "saucy" suggestions!?
  14. Just wondering what kind of pasta sauces are safe out there. I read the ingredients, and I am not really sure why some sauces wouldn't be safe. Help!! I want some spaghetti!
  15. Anybody know if Malibu rum is safe? I hope so, because I had a Malibu Bay breeze - that was absolutely awesome!
  16. I love Alexia Fries... and McCain Smiles are the perfect comfort food!!
  17. That is almost exactly what happened to me. When I was tested for celiac disease, I had a thyroid test and an ANA test. My ANA test came back slightly high and my thyroid came back HYPO. I was supposed to go back to see a rheumatologist- but never did because my gastro told me that my ANA levels could be high from my thyroid or celiac disease. He also...
  18. I am Czech on my mother's side and Irish/Scottish on my father's side. I am 5'2", blue eyes, blonde hair -- but oops i have a round face!! Does anyone else look much younger than they really are? I get teased about this constantly- and I wasn't sure if it had something to do with Celiac. I am very small statured and my face is very baby like- I'm...
  19. Yeah, 115 would be nice... I hate people saying to me, "You're too thin...eat something." But I eat all the time!! I just can gain the weight. It's comforting to know that others understand your situation- especially when you feel like no one in the world could understand!
  20. I have the same weight issues as well. I lost a total of 20 pounds. Now, I am only 103 pounds and sometimes I fluctuate between 101-105. But really no big weight gain/loss (Since going gluten-free). I am only 5'2" so I guess I really don't need the extra weight, but I figured once I went gluten-free that some pounds would come back. Not so.
  21. I am in the same boat. I am not getting married till June 2008 (we're engaged, but saving for the ring... - if that makes sense). I live in a very rural area as well. It seems like it is going to be so difficult to plan the menu because of my disease. Hmm... well I told my fiance all I want for my wedding cake is an Outback brownie! Good luck, and if...
  22. Ever heard of Carrabba's? They just opened right next to my local Outback, so I figured to check them out. They have a gluten-free menu...Open Original Shared Link . I don't know if anyone has eaten here yet, or has heard of it. IF so please leave your info! THANKS! Gabby
  23. 1. Kinnikinnick Montana Chocolate Chip Cookies (and their breads are great too!) 2. Tinkyada pastas 3. Genisoy Southern Style Chunky Peanut butter/chocolate soy protein bars 4. Uncle Ben's Brown Rice (I put some butter and parmesan cheese on it and it's sooo yummy!) 5. Fruit (with Peanut butter of course!) 6. M&M's the staple to a gluten...
  24. Yeah, I definitely feel ya there. I appreciate you (ms sillyak screwed as well) listening to me rant. Food is such a focal point in American society. It is hard to do anything without incorporating food. People do not understand how difficult it can be for someone who can eat 1/4 of the items on a menu (and sometimes thats pushing it). It would...
  25. Celia: Before going on this diet I was a health nut so to speak. It is hard now when I am craving something very healthy -like wheat crackers or oatmeal- the only thing I can pick up is candy to satisfy me. I hate that. I hate that I can't go into a conveince store and get pretzels- and I have to leave with chips or yes, a Snickers Bar. I'm not knocking...
