I have HYPOthryroidism and when i was first diagnosed I was taking Levoxyl. It seemed to work really well and I did not have any side effects. BUT NOW, my doctor put me on what i am guessing to be generic Levothyroxine. My menstrual cycle has been irregular 2 months in a row. It shows up nearly 1 week late with the absolute worst cramps i've ever had...

ARCHIVED Poop
gabrielle replied to Eliza13's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I do know for a fact that vitamins can make your urine have more of a flourescent yellow color, also the odor can be a little stronger. I just watched Oprah about 2 weeks ago and there was this doctor on that wrote a book called "The Owner's Manual: YOU" and he discussed poo He said that our bowel movements should: a.) have very little sound... -
because i am studying nutrition to be a dietician i must put my 2 sense in. i think it's a bogus idea, because it does eliminate food groups. the only diet plan in my opinion is moderation.

ARCHIVED Gluten-free Coffee?
gabrielle replied to amyfeistel's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Just a little insight- coffee in many people causes diarrehia. Perhaps, your system was sensitive to the coffee just because it was coffee. Certain coffees make me ill, because they are strong (not just caffeine wise, because I drink decaf), but because the coffee bean itself is just stronger. Here's the website that is from Open Original Shared Link... -

ARCHIVED Natural Stomach Healer
gabrielle replied to bklyn's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Ginger also works well. Vitamin/natural food stores usually have pieces of dried ginger that you can buy, and you just need to chew a little piece for it to relieve your stomach. If you don't want to do that, I enjoy ginger teas. -
ARCHIVED Monosodium Glutamate
gabrielle posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Since going on a gluten-free diet, I wasn't sure at first if I could have Monosodium glutamate- but I read somewhere that it wasn't derived from wheat so it was okay. BUT-I've eaten things that seem to be gluten-free but have Monosodium glutamate in them and I get sick. I had a few potato chips with this ingredient and I was hunched over grabbing my stomach... -

I am 20 years old and I too have hypothyroidism. But unlike many, I am very thin- which doctors blame on celiac disease. I was just diagnosed in January so I am not very knowledgable about the condition(Hypo) (except that in my case it is genetic).

gabrielle replied to SharonF's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
