  1. THANK YOU guys so much for your responses. WOW!!! I didn't realize all of that. I can't believe some of the additional symptoms that you guys mentioned that sound like me. I have been diagnosed with ADD a couple times and I think now it's celiacs... in addition struggle with depression and can't figure out why and depression medications never worked. ...
  2. awwww thank you. It is a little overwhelming to sort through if I'm just paranoid / making it be wheat because I just want something to fix the problem. Due to failure to thrive I am very anxious for this to be the cure-all... Such a bummer that it's so hard to get a positive test result at this age. (My husband doesn't see the wheat problems and it would...
  3. ok... thank you!!! i will do that
  4. where is "view new content"?
  5. Hi. New to board. Is there an easy way to know if people respond to threads I start? Also is there a way to find out if people respond to a thread I didn't start but responded to or possibly didn't respond to but just interested in? Are the notifications through email? Or just on the board? Possible to just have it show up for me somewhere on the...
  6. ohhhh and do you know what else can typically cause failure to thrive??? It's been 9 months with no weight gain.
  7. I think you are right!!! We should get the test results back on Monday. If no positive results on the blood test but she still hasn't gained any weight after this week of eating wheat (as my husband wants) than I'm going to put her on a gluten free diet and see if she starts gaining weight. It has been 9 months of no gain so if she suddenly starts gaining...
  8. Thank you for your response. Hopefully I'll hear something on Monday and then go from there.
  9. Thanks for the info. Hopefully will get test results Monday and then go from there. Right now she is eating wheat and dribbling all over the floor. I think one morning of a bunch of pee accidents may be enough to convince him to try getting serious about going wheat free.
  10. I am new to celiacs. So totally confused here... I thought you could have a negative test result but still have celiacs????? Am I wrong about this? Should you do a gluten challenge like I was just reading about??? Any answer would also help me as I begin this journey...
  11. Hi... this is an idiotic sounding post. What is the worst that can happen if you have celiacs and don't go gluten-free. I am new to the whole celiacs thing. I suspect that my husband, myself, and my 18 mo. old have celiacs. I know for her it means failure to thrive etc. Horrible stuff for her. For myself I will have no problem going gluten-free even...
  12. The doctor had my daughter tested for celiacs even though she had been pretty much gluten free for the 10 days previous to test. There had been a few bites here and there of gluten but not much. I'm hearing about gluten challenge being needed b4 test. Also my daughter is 18 months old. Was it worthless to even do blood test at that point???
  13. This is going to be hard to figure out how to write... My daughter is 18 months old. Have to explain we have followed elimination communication from birth. Starting about 3 weeks ago I suspected she might have a wheat allergy because for several months now she has slept through the night with a dry diaper. After an increase in wheat to both of...
  14. Hi... Did you notice a difference in how your little one sleeps when on or off gluten?? She seems to have nightmares when she's had gluten even though she is only 18 months old. She wakes up crying out or whimpering in her sleep.
  15. Hi... she hasn't had any diarrhea today. She is still a shaky walker.
  16. Hi... I wrote my original post in a very confusing way. She started diarrhea and throwing up on Saturday. On Wednesday we went to the doctor for her 18 month checkup. Due to failure to thrive since 9 months he had her go for blood tests. During that appointment he asked about celiacs in the family (I think the diarrhea and throwing up may have been what...
  17. I am new to learning about celiacs. My daughter is 18 months old. She may have celiacs disease. We just did a blood test yesterday to find out if she has it - due to failure to thrive (gain weight) and diarrhea and vomitting. (She has not even gained one ounce since 9 months old and has actually lost two pounds during the time that she has had diarrhea...
