  1. Mine seem to have started since I went gluten free as well, but I am pretty sure they are diet related because I only get them if I am bloated or gassy. I am taking a fish oil pill with vitamin D and it seems to help. I do think it is strange that this started after I went gluten free. I am trying to cut out alot of the suger out of my diet and I noticed...
  2. Thanks again everyone. Yolo, my cousin is a licensed herbalist so I will talk to him about the stuff you mentioned in your post and see if he can get me a formula. pricklypear, I bought a gluten free supplement with omega-3 and vitamin D. I do need to look into a magnesium supplement as well I think. 1974girl, after also being an internet doctor and researching...
  3. Thanks for the responses everyone. I did have some blood work done and I was deficient in Vitamin D, Iron, and my inflammation levels were elevated. My cholesterol was 144, but my good cholesterol (HDL?) was low. Since then I have been taking a multivitamin and the palpatations stopped for a while only to come back. Maybe my multivitamin has gluten? ...
  4. I have been on a strict gluten free diet for 6 months. I have only gotten gluttened once or twice that entire time and have a new condition that is worrying me. For about the last month or two about once or twice a day I feel a boom in my chest like my heart takes a really strong heartbeat. This is not accompanied with any pain or discomfort in my chest...
  5. I have never heard of the veins looking stressed due to heat. That would alarm me to no end. I do get the chest tightness sometimes and would love to know the cause. I will be feeling like I am having a great day health wise and all of a sudden it feels like my heart takes a really hard beat and my chest feels really tight. Mine is different then yours...
  6. 16.5 pounds of weight loss in a month is quite a bit for someone who wasn't that heavy to begin with. I wonder if you need to up your calories a little bit. If you trust BMI, I believe 173 would now put you in the healthy category for a 5'10 male. I am also 5'10 and try to keep my weight around 175 (unfortunately at 185 right now). I am guessing 2 apples...
  7. I used to get dandruff really bad. I was always embarrased because my barber would try to figure it out for me. He had me using baby shampoo instead of regular shampoo. He had me not using shampoo as much. He couldn't figure it out because he could tell my scalp and hair was clean. I switched to a gluten free shampoo as well. It did get better gluten...
  8. Does anyone get the sensation of air bubbles popping in their legs? It doesn't happen everyday but once in a while I get this. The last two days I get this sensation of air going "pop-pop-pop-pop" in usually my calf but sometimes my thigh. When I research it most sites say it is muscle twitches from stress or anxiety but it doesn't feel like a muscle issue...
  9. I had a work lunch yesterday and I looked up the restaurant online and they said they had gluten free pizza, so I felt okay about going. I went and ordered my pizza and when it was delivered I took about 2 bites and stopped. It tasted a lot different then the other gluten free pizzas I have had in the past so I got a little paranoid. I looked at the crust...
  10. Definitely. After I got off gluten I stared having a bad reaction to corn, so my doctor ordered a blood test and low and behold I am allergic to corn now. I have ate corn my whole life and never had an issue with it before. Keep in mind I live in Omaha and can't eat corn in Nebraska. That's almost impossible. The common ones that people on this site...
  11. Not to scare anyone here because symptoms of lyme disease and celiac disease are very similar, but the floaters in the eyes are a very common symptom of lyme disease. When I researched my symptoms celiac and lyme always came up together. I have never been tested for lyme disease but I grew in a small town and had my share of tick bites. The reason I bring...
  12. I drink a lot of tea and always have. I love iced tea, the more bitter the better. Well, now I am worried I have an issue with it. I don't think it's the caffeine because I can drink a coke or dr. pepper and it actually helps settle my stomach a little bit. No issues at all with those drinks. I will go over break at work and get a glass of Gold Peak...
  13. Glad to hear you are slowly on the mend. It looks like your anxiety lingers a little longer than mine does after a 'glutening'. I will be interested to hear how your blood test comes back. Doctors are difficult, I wish I would have pushed it when I had the chance. She told me, "oh no, testing for that is way down the line. Let's just keep on the diet...
  14. Glad to hear you are feeling better. Acid reflux is a very common symptom and I have heard of the dark circles. My anxiety usually last about 2 days when I slip up and I get some tension headaches as well for a couple days along with all the GI issues I will spare you the details on. All those guys you mentioned are great and have great advice. I am guessing...
  15. Ha, that made me laugh because I work in finance and know all about Jim Rogers. Those are actually my initials. The 31 is just my football and basketball number from high school and in December will be my age this year. I am glad we are being helpful. People on this site have been great. I just started on July 8th, so I am only 3 1/2 months in. When...
  16. Hang in there. Anxiety was my worst symptom. I went from being an easy going person to staying up at night because I was afraid to fall asleep. I would pick up my kids from daycare and almost burst into tears because I was afraid I was going to die and leave them without a Dad. I had no reason to think that because I was young and in relatively good shape...
  17. Thanks for your response. That is interesting about the tooth enamel, she has this yellow tint on her teeth that I can't get off no matter how much we brush. I will push for her to be tested if she hasn't shown progress in the next 3 months. I would feel really bad if she gets it so young. I hope she doesn't resent dear old Dad if I passed this on to...
  18. My daughter had her three year old checkup today. She was in the 11th percentile for height. Ever since she was a baby her height has always been 9th percentile, 13th percentile, 12th percentile, etc. Today the doctor was concerned. He mentioned that she really isn't catching up in height and is a little behind with some of her language skills for a three...

    ARCHIVED Advice

I appreciate any advice you guys have for me. Back in January I got a sinus infection and that's when everything started going downhill. I have always had allergies, asthma, nose bleeds, sinus and inner ear surgeries all my life, and burning pain with my bm's but nothing I couldn't deal with. After my sinus infection I was miserable. Everything I ate...
  20. What's the big deal? Others have said it already, this is standard practice on TV these days. Fat jokes, jokes about religion, sexual orientation, race. Why not throw in food allergies? (end sarcasm) I honestly wasn't that offended because I don't expect much from sitcoms these days. I do get more offended by people that dismiss it completely that you...
  21. That's interesting. I never thought of them being related but I had TMJ long before my gluten intolerance diagnosis. The doctors thought that wearing the mouthpiece for TMJ would cause my headaches to go away. Well, that combined with eating gluten free finally did cause the headaches to get better.
  22. Thanks Raven. I do have another question. My Mother shows signs of gluten intolerance. I was wondering if these results meant that she for sure passed a gene on to me. I told her that I believed it did as it looked like I got both the DQ2 and DQ8 from both parents. Is that true based on these results? I really don't know anything about genetics and...
  23. Hello everyone, just hoping to get some advice from the experts (I consider this forum the experts, not the doctors). I got my lab back today with mixed results. After 2 months gluten free my IgA came back in the normal range. I was told 2 months wasn't long enough to skew the results that much. But my genetic results were interesting: HLA-DQB1 Moleculor...
  24. Sorry to hear that. I get it from my friends a little bit and the checker at the grocery store the other day said, "I don't get this gluten free thing, isn't whole wheat good for you?" My friends were just being typical guys, we are supposed to be silent suffers for some reason. I would hear, "You really aren't going to eat pizza or drink beer anymore...
  25. smeej, I am in the same boat. They could be tension headaches, but it just seems like too big of a coincidence that it started as soon as I cut gluten out of my diet and two other people on this post experienced the same thing. That's what makes me wonder what they are. AMom, I never would have considered my gallbladder but that is interesting because...
