  1. Maybe some of the problems are how you come across. Personally, I find that saying "unless" completely negates the fact you said no which can make things confusing for others. Also, when most people talk about foods such as, cake, pasta, doughnut they are talking about the glutinous versions. So the correct answer to they question can you eat doughnuts is...
  2. I agree about reusing the ice cream being a health code violation. I figure that the ice cream machines have changed in the last decade. I know that at the DQ in my town the ice cream liquid comes in sealed prepackaged containers like the syrup for fountain soda. It would be almost impossible to put it back. I know that it comes in a sealed package because...
  3. A benefit of testing is knowing whether or not a gluten-free diet is really needed. While your kids might be ok with going gluten-free now and not knowing they absolutely have to. As they grow up that opinion may change especially when they are teens and spend more time with friends eating outside of the house. If they don't know whether or not they have...
  4. Yes I do realize that I will probably go back to eating tons of wheat, and I'm ok with that. But, can I request a second battery of tests? I would like to go to a different GI dr since I am generally unhappy with the one I have been seeing since I've waited 2 weeks now to get my b-12 levels back.
  5. I haven't really been eating gluten-free recently, more of trying to choose foods that are naturally gluten-free. I'm trying to decide whether or not to get retested before I go completely gluten-free.
  6. Last year I had an upper endoscopy with 1 biopsy because of some digestive issues I'd been having. My says that the vili looked normal and that nothing was wrong with my gut. Then I was tested for food allergies to gluten and those were negative. My allergist said that I most likely have as gluten intolerance and that if I could try going gluten-free. I went...
  7. Without an official diagnosis schools don't have to do anything, and in some cases can't. Even with a diagnosis you will probably need a 504 plan to have the school comply fully. Then you and the planning and placement team can decide what accommodations are needed for your child. Without any official diagnosis schools have the right to say no to your requests...
  8. Back to the OP, how were things listen on the gluten-free menu? I know at outback the burgers are gluten free as long as you ask for it not on a bun. Did the menu say anything about having to make changes to an item for it to be gluten-free? Or that the things were naturally gluten free. Also, if CC is a significant issue, I would go as far as to ask the...
  9. Yes, I do want an actual diagnosis on paper. I have several other chronic health conditions including a mental illness so my parents and some close family discredit how I feel/react to things and claim "it's all in my head" If it's on paper they have to accept it. And part of me really doesn't want it to be true.
  10. Here's a little back story to my dr problems. Last year, while trying to dx the tingling in my fingers it was discovered that my b 12 levels were deficient. I had the endoscopy/biopsy done and was told the biopsy was negative and there was only one minor finding (gastritis). So my allergist tested me for food allergies to wheat, barley, rye. I reacted to...
  11. what is the best gluten-free bread that can be found in the US? I'm new to eating gluten-free and I am having problems finding a gluten-free bread I like.
  12. It could also be a against company policy and or a liability if they allow you to bring your own food. If an establishment that serves food allows you to bring in food and you get sick they are liable. I am new to eating completely gluten-free so please don't get offended by my question. Why didn't the op just plan to go to the bounce place around meal...
