  1. Hi, the dietitian called me back from Kroger today and they confirmed that the Kroger fruit snacks are gluten free. I had them check the Tom & Jerry Fruit Snacks but she said they all their fruit snacks are gluten-free. P.S. I'm sorry Michelle, I didn't see your post until after I had already called Kroger. They were very helpful and nice about...
  2. Thanks eveyone! I almost freaked out when I found out about the snacks. We went to my in-laws church to visit. Next time I'm going to bring snacks with us! I'm waiting on a call back from Kroger just to be on the safe side. Thanks again.
  3. Hi, I just wanted to add that I've been using a vanilla product from Frontier. Frontier has several "flavors" including vanilla that are made from real vanilla beans but are in a glycerin base. The "flavors" are alcohol free and have a thick, sweetness to them. I substitute the vanilla in all my recipes and it works great. Hope you have a great time...
  4. Hi, I found out that my child had the Kroger brand fruit snacks at sunday school today! Does anyone know if these contain gluten? I've never bought fruit snacks before so I'm clueless. Thanks for the info.
  5. Hi everyone, I've had really bad allergies over the last three years also. I've always had allergic rhinitis but after the birth of my child I started having anaphylatic reactions. I really feel for anyone who has gone through this because it's sooo scary. On my worse days I would have more than one reaction. I had the prick tests done on my back and ID...
  6. Medaka, Thanks so much! This looks beautiful....
  7. Hi, My family and I are planning at trip to Dollywood in the Smokie Mountains. Does anyone have any information on gluten free foods at the park? Thanks, Kasey's Mom
  8. Thanks everyone for the information you all are great! Kasey's Mom
  9. Thanks Katie, I'm sure she's getting some of the wipe chemicals in her mouth and also I clean the resturant tables with the wipes also. I try not to use the wipes on her bottom any more because her skin is so prone to eczema and psoriasis. This is great new about the Purell being gluten-free. I think I remember a recipe for making a baby wipe solution with...
  10. Thanks Lucy, That's what I thought too. My daughter sucks her thumb so I like to give her a quick scrub when I'm not where I can wash her hands. She's three so she hasn't figured out what's gross to touch and what's not. I'm finding that I'm obsessing a little about the whole gluten-free issue.
  11. Hi everyone! I'm a little further south! I live around the Bristol area. I called Welmont but I haven't had any luck on locating a group. We make a trip atleast once a month to Roanoke to see our allergist!
  12. Hi bsummers! I'm new to this forum also and it sounds like you're in a similiar situation as our family. The first test we had done was the anti-gliadin IgG & IgA and the Total IgA. Since that time another Dr. has ordered the EMA & Ttg, which are very specific to celiac disease. The anti-gliadin anti-bodies are used as a screening tool but they...
  13. I'm new to gluten-free and I'm trying to think of all the ways my child can be getting gluten. This may be a silly question but do baby wipes contain gluten? I mostly use baby wash cloths when we're at home. When we're out I use the wipes to clean my childs hands and high chair etc. I noticed she would get a diaper rash when I used wipes so I stopped a long...
  14. Hi, I'm looking for a celiac disease support group in South West, VA. Does anyone know about a group in this area or would you be interested in helping to start one? Thanks for the information.
  15. Thanks so much Beverly!
  16. Thanks, this is great. I think I may try to go ahead and order the test. As I'm sure you're aware, the testing and Dr. visits start getting a little pricey, but good health is worth it. I'm just afraid that there are food intolerances that we don't know about. Her pediatric Dr. mentioned also that the prick tests have a high false neg. rate. I have a feeling...
  17. Hi Jen, I have being wondering the same thing. I would like to use York if I can because I wouldn't have to have a Dr. percription. Hopefully some one can shed some light on the subject for us. My daughter is better gluten-free but I still think she has other issues that we haven't found. Best Wishes!
  18. Hi, I was wondering if anyone has used the ELISA FoodScan for other food intolerances? My child is now gluten-free but it seems that there are other things that she is either allergic or intolerant to. We've taken her to an immunologist and they did skin/prick tests for inhalents and foods. She only tested postive to inhalant allergies and her pediatric...
  19. Hi, Thanks for the info. I was really hoping that cleaning them well would work. Those toys can get to be pricey. She has a chicken that she's been dying to play with, she calls him "the filppin' chicken!" I'm going to wash them tonight and she'll be so thrilled tomorrow. Nisla-The play dough worked perfect. She kept the play dough out all day! I would...
  20. SofiEmiMom, As Katie mentioned these products are very helpful. I have CRC and I've been using the Whole Approach System and my daughter has celiac disease. They recommend Generation+ Digesticol digestive enzymes for both of us. I break open the capsule and only give my daughter about a 1/4 of the powder, which is sprinkled on her food. I take a whole capsule...
  21. Hi everyone, My daughter is now using the gluten-free play dough but we have two huge bags of toys that she used with her gluten play dough before celiac disease. The toys are plastic and I was wondering if the dishwasher would remove the gluten? Thanks for the advise, Kasey's Mom
  22. Thanks Nilsa! Take Care, Kasey's Mom
  23. Nini, That absolutely stinks! The insurance company doesn't even have to pay for med.'s. I'm finding every day that so many people don't even have a clue about gluten intolerance. I asked the doctor about the diagnosis for my daughter and he said he had to list sprue for the insurance to cover the bloodwork, talk about a double edged sword! Thanks again...
  24. Hi, I know you must be frustrated right now. My thoughts are with you and your daughter. I breastfeed my daughter and from early on she had mild reflux, colic, thrush and a few spots of eczema. I made her baby food from organic items and as long as she was nursing and eating pure, healthy foods her immune system was OK. Within about 5 or 6 months of stopping...
  25. Thanks Nini, I would be really interested in your play dough. We did notice that her rash got much worse this fall when she started playing with play dough. She would hold the play dough to her face and I'm sure she ate some of it! We took play dough away a couple of months ago and she's begging me to play with it. I have IBS and have never had testing for...
