  1. Thank you for posting ! I am reading everything and anything that I can about this disease - (I'm newly diagnosed)... Thanks to other posts I bought Wheat Free, Worry Free....by Danna Korn and Shelly Case's gluten-free Diet: Comprehensive Resource Guide. I've read about 1/2 of Danna Korns book and think it's great - she writes in a way that makes...
  2. Hi - I'm a newbie - just recently diagnosed. I agree that the depression/mood symptoms that I found others were experiencing were a surprise to me. It made me feel so much better about myself - because I have been dealing with depression/moodiness for some time. It's so much easier to know and understand that the physical problems are real and related...
  3. Hi - I also was disappointed in the way two of my doctors were so quick to label it IBS and then just say 'deal with it'. As my health got worse I investigated the web and self diagnosed myself and did find a GI that knew of the disease and did a biopsy to confirm. I've decided to try to educate people I know about celiac disease. (I've labeled myself...
  4. Gapspan - this is the first I've seen on the clicking/popping jaw... I have been dealing with that for a few years too. Is this something related to celiac ?? I'm a newbie (just officially diagnosed last week) - do you have any information on how this is connected ? ( I also have clicking in my knee - but just thought that was normal wear & tear)...
  5. I was first diagnosed with IBS - and now a confirmed celiac disease. My first doctor didn't even know about celiac disease. Last year I lost 20 lbs in a few months, then gained back weight in a month, now am losing again. I also felt very "full" after eating a small portion of food..and I bloated. I did have the frequent bowels movements - but from what...
  6. Hi Berneses- I think you are the first one that I see suffered from night sweats... I also was having that experience as well as other symptoms - I wondered if that was just me or celiac. Mary
  7. Hi - I just wanted to add that I was 'lucky' to be diagnosed after only a two year period of symptoms. However, after two years of being in poor health and searching and being told by a few doctors that my problems were emotional, I was at my wits end. I can not imagine the pain and the emotions that you folks who dealt with this for years and years...
  8. Thank you - I found the thread. I guess I also thought a nutritionist may be able to assist me in the amount of additional vitamins/minerals I could take to help me feel better quicker.
  9. Hi all- I wonder if most of you found it helpful to go to a nutritionist / dietician after being diagnosed with Celiac ? I had a friend recommend one - and wonder if it is necessary or can I just find out the necessary information on this site and other web sites ? My background: I recently received a confirmed diagnosis of having Celiac Disease...
  10. Thanks for the replies I just heard my results from the endoscopy - and I am now confirmed with celiac disease. I'll have to read and learn to be gluten-free and I hope for better health in the near future ! Mary
  11. Hi - I am rather new to this board - have not yet been 'officially' diagnosed with celiac disease; had my endoscopy/biopsy last week and am waiting for the results. However, I believe that celiac disease is the correct diagnosis, based on my blood tests, my symptoms, etc. I am still very much in the learning phase !! My question: from reading...
  12. Hi again Yes, I have had symptoms for about the last 2 years. I have bloating, abdominal pain, gas, a change in my bowels - that seem to fit celiac. Also anemia, fatigue, headaches and I would say depression - or feeling pretty blah. The first few doctors labeled it as IBS (I had a colonoscopy that came out with no physical problems)..but I never...
  13. Hi - I'm one of the newbies... I had an endoscopy yesterday and the Dr. won't be able to tell me the results of my biopsy for a few days. But he did note two things from the endoscopy - one is that I had a scalloped duodenum ? I think that is an indicator of celiac ? The other is that I have an indication of Gastroparesis, a disorder where the stomach...
  14. Thank you for your responses ! I hope to have a diagnosis soon and then may be able to go gluten-free and hopefully have less fatigue.
  15. Hi all - I'm new to this site but have read many helpful posts over the last few days. I'm glad to have found this site ! I have been having digestive problems (bloating, abdominal pain, change in bowels) for about a year and 1/2 as well as anemia, fatigue, headaches, low level depression. I was 'diagnosed' after a colonscopy as IBS, and my doctor...
