  1. OK, so I would by no means consider myself an optimist. Although, it is good to look at the brighter side of things sometimes. Obviously, celiac has a lot of downside to it or there wouldn't be a forum dedicated to it. I believe good can come out of bad. So, in your minds, what good can come out of having celiac disease?? Think creatively. I'll start...
  2. Lactose intolerance is typical in people with celiac disease, starting out. Lactose intolerance can affect the breath. You might want to try cutting out dairy products until your gluten free diet is under control and your intestines are healed. I drink almond milk and eat goat cheese
  3. Hi Raven, My heart goes out to you. I am so sorry to hear about your situation. Please know you are not alone. Please know that no matter what you believe God IS with you and He has a purpose for your life. When I was undiagnosed, I didn't know what was going on. I felt so worthless, ashamed, and confused of all that was going on and I couldn't explain...
  4. Well, it sounds like you feel better when you don't eat gluten. Is the official diagnosis necessary? Although, it would give a peace of mind to have something confirmed. Chinese dishes do contain a lot of soy sauce most of the time and the soy sauce contains gluten most of the time. In America there's gluten-free soy sauce, but obviously that's not accessible...
  5. [quote name='bridgetm' timestamp='1316526709' post='732237' Any tips??? I'm going crazy.... And I think part of that craziness can be attributed to the effects of the CC.
  6. Wow, it sounds like I wrote this! I am living on campus with 3 others and it is extremely frustrating. Things that I "normally" shouldn't frustrate me do. They don't understand although they say they do! I don't think people realize how it affects our WHOLE life. Sometimes, it's like I don't want to see anyone and I wish everyone would just leave me alone...
  7. Does anyone know of a lactose free, gluten free chocolate???
  8. Thanks for the encouragement! I keep hearing it gets better in time...I just need to stick with it!
  9. No, I wasn't tested for any of that. I guess I should try taking vitamin supplements and see if it makes a difference...
  10. I've been on this gluten free diet for 3 weeks now. The symptoms seemed to have lessened, but I still feel so tired all the time! Every few hours I feel like I need a nap, but I have better things I could be doing! How long did it take for you to feel better??
  11. Are you on a gluten free diet because of celiac? I'm extremely tired all the time and I've been gluten free for 3 weeks. I guess patience is key. They say it takes time...
  12. Good words about will power!! Concerning the gluten free diet, so far so good. I'm sick and tired of feeling sick and tired, so I do my best to stay away from gluten. I've only been gluten-free for 3 weeks. I'm sure when you start feeling healthy again, the temptation to eat gluten is much stronger. I can't wait to be feeling healthy again. Speaking of...
  13. Hi! I've been diagnosed celiac and gluten free for about 2 weeks. In the past week, I've noticed the I've had an extremely watery mouth and need to swallow excessively. I thought it could be related to anxiety caused by C.D., but it also occurs when I am trying to sleep! Or maybe because I'm hungry a lot...I don't know. Has anyone experienced anything like...
