ARCHIVED Will Celiac Disease Go Away Once My Leaky Gut Is Gone?
alicewa posted a topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I've heard leaky gut can cause food allergies and intolerances can go away once the gut barrier is completely healed. As I understand it, a normal healthy gut lining only allows small food particles into the bloodstream at a time and blocks out the larger proteins. Does that mean that once a celiac's gut heals completely (i.e. no longer has a leaky gut... -
Hi, I have been following the gluten free diet since late last year at the time of my diagnosis. I felt really well for the last month but now I seem to be straining when I go to poo. My bowel movements (BMs) are frequent (twice a day or so) but there seems to be an awfully painful sensation in the large intestine after I have passed my BM. My doctor...

ARCHIVED Type 1 Diabetes - Triggers From Celiac Or Dairy?
alicewa replied to alicewa's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I've heard about zonulin and the problems it can cause. Would there be any side affects to inhibiting its production though? -
ARCHIVED Is Hla-Dq 2.2 A Celiac Gene?
alicewa posted a topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Is HLA-DQ 2.2 a celiac gene? I thought only DQ 2.5, 7.5 and 8.1 were, until I recently saw in the celiac disease-medics that they included dq2.2 -

What sort of probiotic would be best for celiacs? The one I have has two different bacteria. Wouldn't a prebiotic be fairly important? -
ARCHIVED Type 1 Diabetes - Triggers From Celiac Or Dairy?

Is organic milk safe? What about organic butter. These products can be from holstein cattle too, can't they? I drink jersey milk, it agrees with me better. Can't find any A2/jersey butter at all. Also do all holstein cattle have A1 beta casein in them? -
ARCHIVED Type 1 Diabetes - Triggers From Celiac Or Dairy?
alicewa posted a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I'm curious about celiac and it's link to other autoimmune diseases. Would a gluten free diet for life reduce the risk of type 1 diabetes? I've heard of people developing T1 diabetes many years before being diagnosed with celiac but I have yet to hear of a case of someone developing T1 diabetes who's already been following a gluten free diet for many years... -
ARCHIVED Difference Between Ttg, Ema And Dgp?
alicewa posted a topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Does anyone here know the difference between TTG, EMA and DGP blood tests? I know they all assess the extent of tissue antibodies but don't assess the body's reaction to gluten. -
ARCHIVED Do Elevated Agas Cause Ttg/ema/dgp To Rise?
alicewa posted a topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I've heard that DH is a sign of elevated IgA AGA and damage to the lining of the small bowel is a sign of elevated TTG/EMA/DGP IgA reactions. Tell me if this is true and also let me know if I'm right in assuming that the rise in TTG/EMA/DGP levels is directly a sign of the AGA being elevated. -
ARCHIVED Do All Celiacs Have A Leaky Gut?
alicewa posted a topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Do all celiacs have a Leaky Gut? Even when on the gluten free diet? I've heard they normally do (and almost always will continue to do so) as damage can occur even when gluten free. Mine was a mild-to-moderate case. I'm really worried. This can be the cause of diabetes and other autoimmune diseases!!! Please help if you can. I'm worried -
ARCHIVED Iga Booster
alicewa posted a topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Hi, Would this be helpful or harmful for people with celiac disease? Many of us are deficient in IgA antibodies but others react negatively because of high IgA levels. I'm so confused... Here's the video on a product to help boost IgA levels. I'd like to know whether this may be helpful or harmful for those of us with gluten issues... -
yes i dipped my sushi in soy sauce.
-
The sushi didn't seem to be contaminated. Last two weeks I had it on its own from the same place and was fine. The soy sauce definitely contained wheat.
-
I have a very 'slight' but subtle irritable stomach and although it's not enough discomfort for me to not be able to do my stuff, I also have some reflux. I had sushi for lunch and it had soy sauce in it. I didn't realise soy sauce contains wheat. I looked online and some say it's safe because there's hardly any detectable gluten in it. It was a shoyu...

ARCHIVED Celiac Blood Test Came Back Negative...

I believe the EnteroLab stool test is better at measuring this sort of thing for most people. Without your numbers, it's hard to say. -

It may be fructose malabsorption, that is making you react to apples. -

Ok, I'm getting the idea. That's why I'm asking you. I had no intention of getting the product from CureZone, I was just interested in what caused this problem in case I someday have kids. I know there's not a whole lot that can be done or prevented. Should stop living with regret. -

ARCHIVED Intrahepatic Stones And Liver Function

Has anyone heard about this? Open Original Shared Link I was searching in Google under "what causes celiac disease". I wasn't looking for a cure, but wanted to know what could be done to prevent my children from getting celiac disease like I have. Is it actually caused by something to do with the 'liver' as the article suggests? -

So, what do you feed your cat then? I'm thinking of making the family pets we get go gluten-free now. -

How come no one has posted online that gluten relief hasn't helped them then, if it doesn't work? The makers say they've sold over 2000 bottles in the video. Open Original Shared Link. Makes me sob just looking at it (especially the teary-eyed picture). I seem to really be able to relate, as well. -

Love your cat photo! Looks like he/she'd say the same thing. I don't suppose it would do any harm, if I was willing to stay totally gluten-free would it? Maybe I'd be protected from 'incidents'
