ARCHIVED Looking For Doc In Nyc

If you can go to Brooklyn: Open Original Shared Link It's near the "Q" or "B" train.
  2. Here's a posting from a qualified supplement expert ("Marie") from another web site that I frequent: Most qualified, reputable naturopaths use magnesium glycinate. Magnesium oxides...definitely not (not absorbable) Magnesium citrate...ick...causes loose stools Magnesium orotate...you have to take too many of them because of their elemental calcium...
  3. A good magnesium supplement is in the form of Magnesium Glycinate*. I'm not an expert on it, but I use it for a heart-related condition. Some types are not worth the bottle that they come in. This form (glycinate) is often taken by professionals in the nutricional health field. The brand that I've been using is KAL, and is easily available. It seems...
  4. Open Original Shared Link Sorry, I hit my "Enter Key" too fast! See next message.
  5. How about: Celiacs just say "NO" to gluten! I didn't like the original saying (or the politics behind it) for "drugs", though. I think that Nancy Reagan was the one that started it.
  6. The July 2005 newsletter/publication from Consumer Reports on Health has an article on page 10 (and for their website subscribers) called Wheat 'allergy' - Is it Celiac Disease? One of the magazine's consultants for this article was Dr. Peter H.R. Green, of Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, New York. As many of us already know...

    ARCHIVED Awareness

I also talk it up, to anybody and everybopdy that is interested and will listen!
  8. Like many people here, I was also misdiagnosed even after visiting numerous specialists - including gastroenterologists, TWO hematologists, and others. After my own research pointed toward Celiac, I asked for the blood tests at a routine physical. Upon receiving the results, I went to a new endo in Feb., 2005 and got a small-intestine endoscopy w/biopsy...
  9. There is an article about celiac, page 64, in the latest FITNESS Magazine. It is called, "Are these foods making you sick?". There's no new information, but it's good for raising public awareness.
  10. Did you mean Columbia University? Open Original Shared Link Anne Roland Lee, MSEd, RD, CDN Nutritionist Anne joined the Celiac Disease Center in March 2002. She finished her Masters in Nutrition Education at Queens College in February 2002. Her research project studied the effects of a gluten-free diet on the quality of life of celiac...
  11. I know that CoCo Puffs have been mentioned, but I forgot what was said. Are they OK for Celiac people? I seem to recall that people thought they might have cross-contamination. Thanks
  12. I cannot do more than one at a time - the game freezes on whatver I picked and I have to close it and start it over, or open it in a different window. I can't get my score, or the correct answers, either LOL.
  13. I believe that I got glutened Saturday night at a diner - from french fries. I totally forgot that they can be contaminated. I had reactions last night (Sunday), and took some imodium - I feel better today. I also take an enzyme preparation every day for IBS, and forgot to take it on the day I got sick and the day before (the french fries). I don't...
  14. Thank you!
  15. I just joined and it says "Newbie" on my postings. How long do I have to have to be categorized as this? It kind of turns me off, and makes me reluctant to post since it makes one sound like a dummy, and an "advanced" member somebody worth listening to. Thank you. P.S. I know that everybody probably starts out as a "newbie".
  16. I've been using DaVinci Laboratories' Sublingual B12. I get it in the Vitaminshoppe store, and it's also available online.
