  1. And last I had heard/checked - the caramel was gluten free (ask to read their packaging if you're not sure, most will let you.) They specifically told you the caramel was included gluten - or just that they can't guarantee it being gluten free? I've had caramel macchiatos after doing my homework more than once and have not gotten sick when I am typically...
  2. I'm not sure what the update is here? The last few years every time someone contacts Starbucks this is exactly the reply you get (well, minus the tea debate). Starbucks has not and will not say any of their drink items are gluten free. Even if you ask about their plain black coffee or a cup of milk - they'll tell you there is a risk of cross contamination...
  3. This place isn't too far from downtown and is one of my fave places - I have to visit every time I go to Chicago. Parking kind of sucks, and it's small & quaint, but GOOD and pretty inexpensive! Open Original Shared Link Urban Spoon has some good listings & maybe some locals have better ideas?
  4. I have a lot of tats (well ok not A LOT but 7 and counting!) and at this point my arms are screwed with a forearm tat (pretty script) and a tiny one on wrist, so arms/back/sides are all fair game now and I figure I'll need to wear long sleeves at a job interview anyway... and dye my hair... and remove my nose ring. I really want a thigh tat if I can...
  5. The brand makes a number of items - as a whole you can't say "they" are gluten free - Open Original Shared Link Some of their items may be gluten-free in that they don't inherently contain gluten - but it would depend on the actual manufacturing if there were CC issues or not.
  6. When I went on a train ride (11 years ago - yeesh!) from Hong Kong to Beijing the train had squatty potties - that were just holes from the floor to the tracks. I wore flip flops in, and only came out with one. I lifted my foot up and my flip flop fell right off... and on to the tracks. ha! I went in with tied shoes next time.
  7. haha! I looked for the handicapped stall but it was taken so I just went for it. I can imagine my thighs might get mighty tired (or toned!?) if I had to use them on a regular basis.
  8. My experience has been fine. I love the bordeaux. Yum.
  9. I think they exist everywhere but the US - ha! I don't understand the foreign squatty potty love. But yes, it's amazing - go if you get the chance!!
  10. It's to manually flush the potty. The tank on the side is full of water. Squatty potties and I have a long history - we don't get along. haha. It was definitely an experience!!
  11. Well obviously my issue was 2 years old - and the only compensation I got was a $7 meal voucher to use at an airport. The issue I had was on an Ireland-Chicago flight... I called and emailed and tweeted. The flight attendants were rude and customer service via phone was not helpful. They're the only airline that's been like that so far for me, I hope they...
  12. Yay so glad you're feeling better now.
  13. The best part? When the food was good, it was very very good. ...and when it was bad, it was horrid. Ok it didn't *taste* bad - but I did get the wrong meal delivered to me and ate it. Good thing I'd already preemptively took some pepto bismol that day (ah, love gluten-free traveling) and didn't get as sick as bad as I could have. And I had...
  14. Should be interesting. It's sad that our first thought is negative and not positive!
  15. 4 years old but I'm contributing, too - sorry. Delta is the only airline that has given me an incorrectly marked meal. (read about it here: Open Original Shared Link) Their customer service left a LOT to be desired, I was so disappointed with them.
  16. I would think fruit should be pretty easy to find that would be of little risk - at least anything with a skin (cut the skin off and don't eat it?) or rinse it before you eat it? I've not found it difficult to eat fresh fruit when traveling, for myself. I bring lots of snacks and things when I travel - and the gopicnic meals, too. Non-fruit items are...
  17. I drink quite a bit of wine - no wheat in the ones I enjoy. None of the many wines I've enjoyed have been an issue.
  18. All of my bloodwork was normal - bloodwork is NOT a conclusive test for Celiac. You can't rule it out until you have an endoscopy...
  19. I've just ordered some GoPicnic meals - I couldn't remember the name of them so yay for this thread! I love bringing "ready to eat" food with me when I travel so those are perfect.
  20. I pop some pepto bismol pills as soon as I know I've been glutened (if it ever happens before I feel the symptoms) and that will usually take the pain away... and the other less fun parts of being glutened, too! Drink lots of water. It doesn't help with my foggy brained symptoms, but def helps with my intestinal ones. Pepto is not a perfect solution ...
  21. I've had a nodule on my right thyroid for a few years. Many biopsies. Even more ultrasounds. And... nothing. Just keep on monitoring it for now - but sometimes it's just nothing. I hope yours is nothing, too!
  22. I love their donuts but haven't tried their other goodies - I'll have to look for them!
  23. Hmm - I thought the regular Frapp base was gluten free - and the light wasn't? Interesting - good to know. I would really like to see them stop with their BS answers of "it's proprietary" - stating whether an item contains a known allergen is hardly giving away a recipe. I'm a Starbucks addict and not ashamed to admit it - but I'll keep complaining to them...
  24. Aww hugs. I'm sorry. You're entitled to feeling crummy every once in a while - but try not to let it get you down. There are good and yummy things out there that you can have, you just might need some help in finding them. I did a quick google search on "gluten free dairy free ice cream" and came across a number of links! Like this makes me want to go and...
  25. I miss cinnabons. my best advice to you though is to write a business plan and find a solid biz advisor. Most small businesses fail, so just make sure you set yourself up for success. And then I'll stop by.and.visit. if I. Come to town! And Omb typing. On my kindle.is.annoying. I apologize for the.errors!
