ARCHIVED Question On What To Expect Going Gluten Free
trayne91 posted a topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Hello all. Was wondering what to expect going gluten free right away. I've been gluten free about a week and can say I don't feel as tired as I did just a week ago. However, today about lunch time, I all of the sudden felt tired. Right now I literally feel exhausted and my legs tingle. I don't know if I can expect to feel periods of highs and lows until... -

Thank you so much for your feedback. I suppose I will call the Dr. office and tell them I was positive and ask for him to get blood work done. I am happy to have you say my doctor did something good. He was making me nervous since he told me a lot of things wrong. Glad to know that nothing was overlooked. Sorry, to hear about your diagnosis not... -

My GI clinic just called and said my biopsies confirmed the Celiac Sprue. I am sure I will have a million questions once the initial shock wears off. I guess I just thought it would end up that I didn't have it after all. I had them fax me a copy of my reports. Looks like I got some problems in there: I have increased intraepithelial lymphocytes of the... -

ARCHIVED Endoscopy Photos
trayne91 replied to trayne91's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Thanks. I figured he was taking pics of certain things for certain reasons. I tried to compare on google. I know folds disappear, villi are gone or flat, folds have cut- outs in them ( forget what they call it). To me, my villi look flattened like worms or a mosaic pattern, but I'm not a dr. Decided to ask here if it was for sure a bad spot. -

I didn't get to talk to the gi in the hospital. If I did, i dont remember. They gave me a folder with four pictures in it. what are they taking pictures of? Ggod stuff? Only bad stuff? Is there a place to compare photos? I haven't received my results yet. I can't stand waiting, but am really curious about the photos since no explanation was given to me... -
ARCHIVED I Suppose I Don't Have Celiac Disease

I think your dr. Meant have you seen the gi doctor yet - since the results have come back (not have you seen the gi doctor in the first place). -

I don't know your answer, but I do know my blood pressure is about the same as yours 100/60 and I do not ever have a buzzing in my head. That's not to say it is not a symptom for some people - I don't know. I have had medications that made me feel that way, though, and I got off them ASAP. I have also Had a case of dizzy, lightheadedness, and vertigo... -

Just reading post. Realized I forgot to write that symptom down when giving gi my list. Did a search on the forum and here I am. I am still waiting for biopsies to come back, but I also get on on the edge of my face by my chin that flares up and is sore from time to time. I also recently had one flare up there, my armpit, inside of elbow, and top of wrist... -
ARCHIVED Colonscopy Prep
trayne91 replied to Mnicole1981's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I got Miralax powder to put in Gatorade. It was actually tasteless and good. I was so thirsty anyway from being hungry. However, before I started that I was to take 4 Dulcolax and 1.5 hours I took them I got super bad cramps and threw them up in the bathroom for 15 minutes. I was scared to drink the solution after that, but the the solution went down fine... -
ARCHIVED Scopes Over And Now Waiting.

Iv was a sinch. My veins are tiny and it is usually a chore for me. I don't remember a thing. Prep sucked for colonoscopy. The Miralax drink was not bad, but before that I was to take four docolax and I ended up with cramps and vomiting. Dr. Seen me before procedure. Reminded me he could get rid of stomach and bowl issues and make those feel better but... -

Thank you so much for that. I will. I had a hysterectomy a couple years ago and still have no idea what some of it means. It's good to know there is someone out there that can help me with the medical terminology, etc. Do you think it is really important to get the DPG test done? I don't think I had that one done and he didn't order me any blood work... -

Thanks for that information. I have had surgery in the past and have always made sure to get the reports. I will make sure I get these reports, also, for sure. I appreciate you helping me out. I guess I'll play along and see how it goes. I guess in the long run he knows what to do and how to do it surgery-wise and someone lab-experienced will be reading... -

I have my insurance straightened out now. Got that done last night. I'm actually self-employed and in a low patch right now, and am using a state-wide lower income insurance program right because Blue Cross Blue Shield was killing me with high costs. My current insurance was trying to say I was ineligible and cancelled my insurance on the day of my appt... -
ARCHIVED Getting Confused
trayne91 posted a topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I had a low positive hit on the TTG IGA blood test. I had my first referral GI appt. yesterday. I have done a lot of research in the last 2 weeks. The Dr. wants to do an endoscopy and colonoscopy to check for everything, not just Celiac. I asked about getting a negative biopsy, but having a positive blood test and he looked at me confused. I told... -

I just took a look back at my test. It does look like I need some of the tests your recommended in the complete panel, but I did have more done. Thank you for the full Celiac Panel suggestion. I will make sure that happens as moving forward. As much as I hate seeing something wrong, I do like having answers. My Vitamin D was 17 well below normal range of 30-100. I've been taking 1000 IU of Vitamin D for 2 years now and my test results I got back with the above referenced tests showed my Vitamin... -
Hello all. I am new to this board. I have been reading in the forums and you all seem like a great, helpful bunch. Here's my story: Background - Always seemed to be pretty healthy besides getting tonsilitis and bronchitis a lot. I was diagnosed with WPW symdrome at 17 and since had an ablation and am "cured". In 2006, I developed swelling. I...
