  1. First, I am right there with you struggling. Beer tasting has been a part of my life with my husband for.. well.. ever! So, it is especially hard! However, I totally agree with this... As a young adult cancer survivor, who has lost a sister and many friends to cancer, I am truly happy to have good health. ALSO - try to focus on all the...

    ARCHIVED Beeturia?

Thanks. I am not actually concerned with the red urine and stool. More concerned that they indiciate some other problem.
  3. Roasted beets for Sunday dinner. Of course, I am the only one who eats them. So, I had leftovers for lunch Monday and Tuesday. Each day was equivalent of 1 small to meduim beet. I thought pink/red urine and stool (beeturia) was a pretty common thing after eating beets. So, I wasn't alarmed when my urine was a little dark yesterday. This mornin (Wednesday...
  4. Whole Foods does this as well and I believe it is only foods labeled "gluten-free" on the package. They also have a dedicated gluten-free section, which annoys me as some things are in 2 places and some are just in the gluten-free area (like gluten-free oats).
  5. gluten-free Vegetarian No-Processed Soy Low-Dairy Low-Egg here.. So, I feel you on being hungry and not knowing what to make! (omg! no almonds! my life would be so OVER!) Check out this cookbook (allergen and gluten free). http://www.(Company Name Removed - They Spammed This Forum and are Banned)/Welcoming-Kitchen-Delicious-Allergen-Gluten-Free/dp/1...
  6. I am a vegetarian and I travel overseas a lot (not since dx celiac though..). Anyway, the cards are AWESOME! At first you kind of feel like a weirdo, but people really try to make it work for you. Japan and Thailand are the best. They wait staff would just smile, shake their heads, and bring out plates and plates of delicious food. Anyway... The restuarants...
  7. I guess I really think it is due to surgical menopause because I had a "normal to good" bone density before my oophorectomy (at age 32) and 2 years later had osteopenia. I didn't have my celiac symptoms those 2 years. But, who knows. I wonder if my bone density will get better and/or stop getting worse now that I quit gluten.
  8. Thank you everyone who responded! I appreciate your thoughts!! (even though it took me a week to respond.) I haven't heard of anyone else with this symptom either. I have had 4 doctors trying to figure out what my problem was with the tingling. I have appointments with 2 of them next month (for other reasons) and I am pretty sure they won't...
  9. It is more about not hurting the feelings of the people who want to feed me but fail miserably.
  10. Thanks! Anyone else with suggestions on bring food to family dinners?
  11. At work, there are lots of meetings where food is brought in. It was always a pain before being the only vegetarian in the group. Now add the gluten-free and I just tell them to no longer bother ordering for me. Yesterday was someone's birthday and they brought in brownies. The lady was all proud of herself because she bought icecream too so I could...
  12. Also, I see my address shows up in my profile. I REALLY hope that is priviate. Is it?
  13. First, I apologize for the rambling that is about to happen... I was diagnosed with celiac about a month ago. I do NOT have the classic celiac symptoms. My main compliant was random - but annoying - tingling in my body, mostly at night, but sometimes during the day. It took about a year to diagnose, as I had a lot of tests done (no vitamin deficiencies...
