I don't know the ranges. It starts at .45 but the page cut off the end range. It didn't have a flag on it. Thanks!

Sorry i took a break from the forum for a bit... My TSH was 2.28 and my Free T4 was .91 I spent a few days compiling all of my symptoms, organizing the patterns of highs and lows and went to the doc armed with my own "research". I figured that there had to be a reason for all of the things happening to me. They weren't just digestive but arthritic...

Thanks, I've had my thyroid checked and it was good, I've wondered about sjogren's because I've also been having swallowing, choking issues, but that could also be due to GERD...oh well...

Anyone else have low triglycerides? The clinic always bragged on how exceptionally low my triglyceride count is..."that of a triathlete",..turns out that some research has found low triglycerides can be a marker for autoimmune diseases. Mine runs from the 40's to the 60's. Who would've thought all this time I wasn't a secret Olympic athlete?

I've read the posts of celiacs and other gluten sensitive souls and always thought everyone had it so much worse than I could imagine. I kind of had a "there but for the grace of God" attitude about the multitude of food issues many celiacs face. But I've come to realize that once you have some serious GI issues they don't just go away...sometimes they get...

ARCHIVED Iga Antibodies And Negative Test Results
cindylou7 replied to cindylou7's topic in Dermatitis Herpetiformis
Thanks... I wasn't wondering so I could test again, I had an "ah ha" moment and was looking for clarification. My IgA test results were in the low normal range and my tests have all been negative but I know I react to gluten and have improved bloodwork as a result of gluten-free diet. I'm not certain that the cyst type acne is DH but I suspect it is.... -
ARCHIVED Iga Antibodies And Negative Test Results
cindylou7 posted a topic in Dermatitis Herpetiformis
Can low (still within normal) IgA antibodies affect blood test and skin biopsies? On another note, I've been faithful to gluten-free diet and haven't had any noticeable GI symptoms that would indicate accidental glutening, but I had a breakout of DH on my skin on my arm and a return of what I always thought of as acne on my neck. It's sort of like a cyst... -
I've been gluten-free for several months with a few accidental glutenings. I feel much better than I did before but the accidental ingestions are worse than ever, though farther in between. One of the pluses is the ability to donate blood because now my iron is high enough and another is excellent bloodwork on my check ups. My triglycerides are that of...

ARCHIVED Stress Response Or Accidental Glutening
cindylou7 replied to cindylou7's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Thanks for your replies. I have been diagnosed with IBS, but i think it was stress. It resolved itself rather quickly. If it were gluten related it typically lasts longer than this one did. I think the damage to the bowel makes it so super sensitive that every little thing creates a big problem! -
ARCHIVED Stress Response Or Accidental Glutening
cindylou7 posted a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Has anyone experienced symptoms of a glutening during times of stress without actually ingesting gluten? I feel like I've been glutened, but I have been very careful. I am under a ton of stress and I just can't tell. -
ARCHIVED Gluten-Free Dining At Chinese Restaurants
cindylou7 replied to cdaviles's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
I recommend you make your own. I make a version of Mei Fun with chicken or pork cut into thin strips and cooked in a gluten-free chicken broth, toss in some gluten-free soy sauce, add cabbage, carrots, portobello mushrooms, sliced thin. Soak rice noodles in hot water while cooking. Add shrimp last, season with onion and garlic powders. Drain noodles and... -
Update. Dr says herpes simplex. This one is not related to DH or celiac that he can tell. So previous diagnosis of shingles may be close to accurate. Go figure...

This has happened several times in the last ten years or so, but my scalp starts this painful, burning, tingling pain. Then come the blisters! Ugly and right in plain sight. I always know its coming, but this is the first time I have been gluten free for a decent length of time, that they have made an appearance. I was wondering if I have this to look forward...

ARCHIVED I Have The "what Got Me This Time" Conundrum
cindylou7 replied to birdie22's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I have the same problem with a bloating reaction and I just "know" that I must've gotten glutened somehow. Did I breathe it in? Did the treat that I fed the dog contain gluten and I forgot to wash my hand before eating? Did I get some gluten dust on me (we live on a farm and my husband and kids often come in with cattle feed dust on them and their clothes... -
They look like mine. I'm not a doctor and I haven't tested positive yet. But the blister in the top picture looks exactly like mine do. And if you're like me they crater after the blister pops and look like something on the surface of the moon. Good luck with the doctors!

ARCHIVED Elimination Diet So Far, Is It Gluten Or Wheat?
cindylou7 replied to SandraLAVixen's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I totally get it. You need to know what is causing the problem, but when you don't have enough time between your trials you cannot accurately define the cause. I have more physical reactions to gluten when I have not given my body a rest. And sometimes things that I believe do not contain gluten (although I don't know about CC) cause a similar reaction when... -
ARCHIVED Weird Reaction At Biopsy Location
cindylou7 replied to cindylou7's topic in Dermatitis Herpetiformis
Sorry about that! It is aggravating, literally! Unfortunately, my result came back negative for DH but the biopsy was taken from a site on top of a recently active lesion. I hope your Doctor was knowledgable enough to take the biopsy from the right location. I'm trying to decide if I want to continue to look for a positive diagnosis or just be happy with... -
ARCHIVED Bad Breath, Gastritis, And Dh
cindylou7 replied to cindylou7's topic in Dermatitis Herpetiformis
Thanks I'll add the probiotics back in. I've gotten lazy. I want to ask a dr about h pylori. From what I've read it is a possibility. -
Gluten free of course and I'll see what happens next...

ARCHIVED Bad Breath, Gastritis, And Dh
cindylou7 replied to cindylou7's topic in Dermatitis Herpetiformis
I do eat onions though not always in my salad. The bad breath comes after the food has gotten to my stomach. It isn't the type of breath that you can say "well I can tell that she had the garlic soup today" it's more of a "holy cow, what the heck crawled in and died" It's more of a rotten smell, a dirty fish bowl smell, a dead smell! Okay, I know that... -
Test came back negative. Oh well, I knew it would but still...

ARCHIVED Weird Reaction At Biopsy Location
cindylou7 replied to cindylou7's topic in Dermatitis Herpetiformis
Thanks again Squirming! I keep thinking maybe I'm wrong this isn't DH but something else entirely. And then, I post and realize all my symptoms still match. The skin is hot and red and itches like!&?@(! It seems simple and yet it is so complex! You'd think that the skin sample would surely find antibodies but I know that the odds are not in my favor... -
My biopsy was taken onTuesday from a site that did not have any active blisters (I don't typically get a "rash"). It was taken from a scarred area where I have recurrent blisters. The thing that is strange is that the itching at the site of biopsy and all around it has created an outbreak. The biopsied area is actually oozing like my DH blisters do and I...

ARCHIVED Omg Doctors Are Frustrating!
cindylou7 replied to cindylou7's topic in Dermatitis Herpetiformis
He said that the antibodies should be still present in the skin. My last good outbreak was in July. He took a small sample (about two mm) near the last scarred area. Everything that I've read suggested any testing was more accurate while ingesting gluten. I have significant GI symptoms but bloodwork came back neg after a nearly three week challenge. My... -
ARCHIVED Help For The Itching, Stinging, Burning, Pain Of Dh
cindylou7 replied to squirmingitch's topic in Dermatitis Herpetiformis
I've used tea tree oil too and found relief. Surprised at the post about sun exposure...I thought it was just me! A trip to Hawaii brought out a painful ugly blistering rash on my forehead that everyone could see! Very embarrassing.
