  1. Does anyone have experience to share about corn intolerance and pregnancy? It's my first pregnancy and it's been a struggle. I am VERY sensitive to anything corn-derived and have to get my medication compounded. Being pregnant has been complicated: finding corn-free prenatals (couldn't find any, I'm taking separate vitamins), dealing with cravings on...
  2. Here is what I found on mannitol: "Mannitol, a naturally occurring alcohol, is widely used in the food, pharmaceutical, medicine, and chemical industries. It is currently produced as a 25/75 mixture of mannitol and sorbitol (another sugar alcohol) by high pressure hydrogenation of 50/50 fructose/glucose mixture (corn derived sugars) in an aqueous solution...
  3. Thank you D. So mannitol in your B12 didn't bother you? It's usually made from corn, so I've been avoid it.
  4. Desperateladysaved, would you mind telling me what brand of supplements was safe for you (corn free)? I take some Kirkman Lab's but I am still looking for totally corn free B12. Vit C is not easy to find either.
  5. Thank you Squirmingitch and Kareng for your input! Yes I have been gluten free for several years. My rash appeared after about 2 years gluten free. Contrary to my eczema it always flares up when I eat gluten and sometimes when I eat something processed. Hopefully I'll end up figuring out what it is. But right now I'm pregnant and my rashes are killing me...
  6. Hi! Just a quick question for people suffering from DH. Does the itch/redness diminish when applying a corticosteroid cream? I have always had eczema and have been prescribed Triamcinolone for it. Since last year, I have developed a weird rash on my finger that looks like DH (tiny blisters, extremely itchy). I am wondering if it's really DH or just another...
  7. To respond to your question about corn, I didn't know I was intolerant until I took a food intolerance test. I know these are not always reliable, but in my case it was spot on. Corn is everywhere (think xanthan gum, citric acid, flavorings, preservatives etc.) so it's difficult to pin point a reaction to it. However, since I went corn free I have been feeling...
  8. My mom is gluten intolerant just like me and she cannot have coffee. She's intolerant to it. She has been gluten free for a while and every time she tries to add coffee back, she gets sick. So I think it's possible that you might be intolerant to it. I hope not!
  9. Did you check your vitamins levels and your thyroid? Also make sure you identified any other intolerance you might have. I looked up Idiopathic Central Nervous System Hypersomnia and it feels familiar. I used to think something was wrong with me because I could easily sleep 10 to 14 hours a night, sometimes even longer. I would have an extremely difficult...
  10. Thanks for sharing! I used to have these dreams too where you feel like you're falling. I would never have thought that gluten could affect my sleep like that before I went gluten free.
  11. I just wanted to share two of my weird gluten symptoms and was curious to know if anyone has experienced the same. Before I went gluten free I had recurrent SCARY nightmares, usually involving either water (floods, tsunamis) or violence (somebody trying to kill me, I'm being shot at, and so on) that left me feeling like crap when I woke up. I remember...
  12. Thank you both for your advice. I just wanted to post an update. I found out that I react to some of Bob's Red Mill gluten free flours. I'm thinking gluten or corn cross-contamination. I react strongly to corn, so that might be it. Now I need to find a safer brand, or make my own...
  13. Thanks notme! No, no soy in any of these things. I know what you mean about soy too, I get the same reaction to soy milk (tamari doesn't seem to bother me though).
  14. I am hoping some of you can help me understand what I am reacting to. I have been having mild reactions on and off after in the last two weeks. I get the usual migraine and feel very sleepy and foggy. I have been trying to identify the culprit but I no luck so far. I get these reactions after eating breakfast and figured it has to be one or several of theses...
  15. I am intolerant to gluten, corn and dairy. I don't know if it helps but I regularly eat out at indian, thai or vietnamese restaurants. Indian is a good pick because the dishes "normally" don't contain any wheat or corn and they often have vegan options (sometimes I ask to have meat added to a vegan spinach stew for example). I have reacted only once while...
