  1. Thanks! I'm happy to hear it exists!
  2. Whaaaaaaatttt, there's gluten-free Bisquick???
  3. BiAglut has a store (retailer) finder... Open Original Shared Link
  4. I've had good luck with the Schar pasta-- only tried the penne and the fusilli, but looking forward to others. I tried some other Trader Joe's brands that were awful-- the rice pasta as sticky and not tasty, and the corn made me sick. I'm going to look for the other two brands mentioned-- thanks! Now, if someone would make us gluten-free ravioli, my life...
  5. Hahahaha, this morning glanced at the bread, noticed it was Rudi's, not Udi's. Took a couple of slices, buttered and parmesan cheesed them, and toasted in the oven. Dipped in warm marinara. Yum.
  6. And it's such a relief! Thanks, everyone. My gluteny friends wouldn't understand what it is to not feel like taking a nap all weekend.
  7. The nurse who assisted with my endoscopy gave me a flier for a local gluten-free bakery. It's not exactly close by, but I like knowing it's available if I really get a craving for something sugary and carb-y... and I do want to try one of their artisan breads, for garlic toast.
  8. Great idea. The first loaf I bought, I think I used all of three slices before it went moldy. Keeping it frozen solves that issue...
  9. So far I haven't see Rudi's in my neck of the woods-- just Udi's. They have it at Trader Joe's for $5 a loaf (no thanks) or 2/$7 at Costco, so I bought some at Costco today. I'm not a huge bread eater, but absence makes the heart grow fonder... now I want cream cheese and jam toast!
  10. It's not quite "normal" bread, and I'm not yet used to using it as such... what have you tried to use it for? Is it good as toast, "pizza" base, french toast?
  11. 72 hours off gluten. Yesterday I managed to clean a few things (my house has been a disaster while on my 13 day gluten challenge), and today ran errands. Haven't napped all weekend. Amazing how quickly I start to feel like a human again off gluten... or, how quickly the placebo effect works... I'm just talking out loud. None of my friends ever want to...
  12. I think I know what you mean. I've almost forgotten how much better I felt without gluten. The proof is in my weight gain, bloat, and messy house due to my total lack of energy. My brief foray back into gluten land is over. Had my endoscopy today. The bonus was the nurse who had a sister with Celiac-- she slipped me a flier for a local gluten free bakery...
  13. Aw, thanks! Tomorrow is my last day of gluten, and it feels like a monumental achievement to have been back on gluten for this long (ha, ten whole days? seems far longer). I feel wretched.
  14. Loved reading all these responses!
  15. ravenwoodglass, if two weeks isn't enough, I'm not giving it another shot. I'll just go on my merry way, gluten-free. I'm trying, tom.
  16. Including today, I have eight more days of eating gluten. I've been back on it for a mere six days, and I'm not sure I can hang much longer. I feel like a big baby for not being able to just suck it up. Yesterday I almost cheated by NOT eating gluten. Your experiences with a gluten challenge? Is it just this miserable? I'd feel better to know it wasn...
  17. People keep asking me if I'm enjoying my gluten challenge, and then rattling off lists of things I had better eat while I can. Yeah, it's great fun trying to get through the day with my nausea, distended abdomen, etc., and thank you for making me queasier with that list!
  18. I was wondering the exact same thing and was about to post before I saw this thread. I was gluten-free for a little over two weeks as a "home test," and had to start eating gluten again (for medical testing purposes) beginning last Friday. I am so much more miserable now than I recall being before. I know I was already reaping the benefits of increased energy...
  19. I guess this is a two-part question: 1. Once you figured out gluten was the problem and you'd had some time to look back, did you find yourself remembering symptoms and reactions from long, long ago, and suspect you'd had a gluten issue for far longer than you'd originally thought? And, 2. Did you notice that perhaps you unconsciously preferred...
  20. I was off for about two weeks, on again since Friday. Hopefully by then there will be enough damage (sigh) to register...
  21. Are these the "usual" labs? AtT IgA Ae IgA anti-gliadin IgA anti-gliadin IgG Total serum IgA
  22. I almost didn't go to my GI app't because I've been so fearful of not being taken seriously. But then I did, because who doesn't love specialist co-pays? I told him I was having problems with gluten, described my 1,000 symptoms, and he said, "That doesn't sound like gluten intolerance. Have you been tested for Celiac?" Hallelujah. So I have an endoscopy...
  23. These have been making me laugh. Just being gluten-free for two+ weeks, I heard some of the funniest things. One of my close friends has decided, after hearing my list of symptoms on gluten, that she too has a problem tolerating gluten. She said this while shoving two tacos and a burrito in her mouth. It's amazing how many people think they too have a problem...
  24. I've been eating gluten again since Friday (in preparation for tomorrow's GI visit, and likely, blood test), and I am an emotional, bloated mess. Hate this. Also, my nasal allergies have all the sudden started back up, and my sleep problems. Fatigue. Bleh. Energy level low. Can't wait to not have to do this anymore.
