  1. Laurie, According to Dr. Fine I DO have an active gluten sensitivity which has resulted in autoimmunity and damage. That is why I have been posting in this thread. I did follow the gluten-free lifestyle (just as everyone else here does) and I did continue to lose more and more foods (very rapidly). Where did I ever say that I'm not gluten sensitive...
  2. Judy, I feel that having it come on so suddenly was the biggest blessing for me. I honestly dont believe that I would have had the same will to push forward for answers if I had suffered for many years. Nothing would have been as clear to me and I would have considered not feeling well as normal for me. Like anything else if things are taken away from...
  3. I can only speak of my own situation....but I dont believe that I had damage from years of gluten toxicity. I had absolutely no symptoms.....no GI symptoms and no neurological symptoms. I did not appear to have any issues with malabsorption. People with lactose intolerance will have symptoms because they lack the enzyme needed to break it down for proper...
  4. Gentleheart, I agree that you wont find an answer regarding Enterolab's validity here...none of us will. Dr. Fine may get it right for some people....but certainly not everyone. It doesnt mean that symptoms will never resolve, or that there is no answer to ever be found. There is always an answer...many of us will have to move beyond Dr. Fine's test results...
  5. I just wanted to point out that nearly all fish contain methyl mercury. Some fish contain greater amounts than others. Mercury is toxic and a powerful immunosuppressant. Some people are more capable of excreting it than others (genetics is huge factor). Since you already have health problems and are eating lots of fish....you may want to look into the...
  6. Honestly, this does not sound like something that a LLMD would say. It sounds like something that an uninformed infectious disease doctor would say. Do you know what lab was used for your Western Blots? Was it IgeneX or another specialty lab with a high sensitivity? If not than you are looking at a sensitivity of anywhere from 40% -65%.....which is NOT...
  7. I think any type of relaxation type thing would probably help. I'm not stressed out thinking about it though.....only when I'm confronted with something that provokes that shyness. I'm kind of thinking that if I start doing the tapping technique in order to relieve the stress.....people will think I'm sort of "odd". Well....not that people dont...
  8. I am having some "technical difficulties" with my body. Because of my body's inabilty to clear/process stress hormones efficiently.....I definately have more issues when I'm under any stress. My bucket becomes full and as a result my sensitivities increase. I'm pretty good at avoiding stressful situations and I dont allow myself to get upset over...
  9. Scully, Since you've been on the diet have your symptoms resolved? If your health problems are resolved wouldnt you just want to stay on the diet and continue to feel well? Personally, I think the chances of your Celiac tests coming back positive are pretty slim. Its only a very small percentage of Celiac's who test positive without carrying the main...
  10. Laurie, its not all about me. The topic we're discussing is Enterolab/Dr. Fine. If you are interested in how I ended up on this board, the things I've learned along the way, my diet, etc....you can certainly read my posts. Here is the link to the first one. https://www.celiac.com/gluten-free/index.ph...ic=8182&hl= I started the diet before...
  11. Ummmmm.....what part of my question was in defamation of Dr. Fines character? Where are the studies that Dr. Fine has done which prove this statement to be true? Is he following up on the people who had high malabsorption scores to see if this improved while on the diet? You responded with this.... What's not to understand???? Dr. Fine's statement...
  12. Yes, that was my point....and noone (including Enterolab) was able to tell me how Dr. Fine can be certain that elevated tTG in stool is directly related to gluten in every case. Elevated tTG has been found in patients having no evidence or indication of celiac disease....but who do have other autoimmune conditions (such as Crohns). Why do some people continue...
  13. Your own posts can be found in nearly every thread about Enterolab....so why wouldnt all of these same things apply to you?? Nobody is attacking the people who feel that Enterolab helped them.....why do some people get SO upset when anything negative is said about Dr. Fine or Enterolab?? It doesnt upset me when people post in support of Enterolab....
  14. Laurie, I also meant to point out here that I never said that I dont believe in gluten intolerance as a condition. I believe that gluten intolerance exists (in abundance). Its not the "condition" that I'm questioning......its Dr. Fine and the validity of his stool test. I'm not sure what the conditions in my signature have to do with that?? There is not...
  15. Joe, Interesting post! I had posted a couple years back (when I started having doubts) that my plan was to get retested. I wanted to make sure that I'd been off of gluten long enough and I wanted to compare my results (which werent that high to begin with). There wasnt any chance that I was consuming gluten at all...and I figured that if anything...
  16. YAY Donna!! I'd still like to gain more weight so that I can fit into my pre-broken-body clothes. They are still a couple sizes too big. Ummm....I've expanded my diet to even MORE brownies (have to scrape frosting off though ), lasagne (is that how its spelled?), fried rice, chow mein and various other things. None of it is...
  17. Scroll about halfway down this page for an incomplete list of high dopamine foods. [url="Open Original Shared Link
  18. Sherry, For me food chemical issues are one of the most difficult things to pinpoint. This is because the effects are dose related and the reaction doesnt occur until you've reached your threshold. You can eat several foods which contribute to the total load.....and then you react to the one food which causes your "bucket" to overflow. Next time you eat...
  19. tTG is not considered to be 100% specific to Celiac Disease....it is a marker for Celiac.....but it has also shown to be a marker for other autoimmune conditions. If it works this way in the blood.....why wouldnt it work this way in stool? Thats why I asked Enterolab this very question. Also, I do not have Celiac genes, I do not have Celiac Disease...
  20. If you've been reading my posts its really not that confusing. As I stated many times....I DID believe in Enterolab testing...I DID believe that I was being "diagnosed". His report sure made it sound that way....in fact I CRIED when I got the results back. You can go back to my early posts (2005) and its very clear how I felt at that time. I simply...
  21. Nancy, you learned about Enterolab because I posted about it on another board which you were on. Those posts are still there. I was always aware that Enterolab doesnt diagnose Celiac....and I made that clear when I posted it on that other board. I posted quite a bit of info. about gluten intolerance on that board....I was all in favor of Enterolab for testing...
  22. Where are the studies that Dr. Fine has done which prove this statement to be true? Is he following up on the people who had high malabsorption scores to see if this improved while on the diet? I had high malabsorption which did not resolve after 3 years on the diet. It was not caused by gluten....I have other issues which caused malabsorption to be elevated...
  23. If you reread my post I stated that the information is coming from posts right here on this board....not Enterolab. These posts can be easily found...I've seen lots of them and it was actually the same thing that I was told when I joined this board. When I ordered Enterolab tests I believed that I was getting some type of diagnosis. I know that I'm not the...
  24. I dont think dramatic results are typical....according to Yasko its a slow process. There are alot of parents who do see dramatic improvement but I think its usually more slow and gradual....with setbacks and complications along the way. Its an autism board and I think that some kids (if treated early on) can make dramatic improvements......but I think...
  25. I certainly agree with this. Absolutely, no doubt about it. Anyone reading these topics can see that this is true. I've been here over 3 years now....and it doesnt matter that Enterolab doesnt claim to diagnose anything. People come to this board for answers and over and over again I've seen it told that Enterolab can give them the answer....and that it...
