ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something
Rachel--24 replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Here's a recent article on that... Open Original Shared Link The way I understood it is that the same strains are found on both continents....including the one they believe is more difficult to treat. In my opinion its more likely that the Americans struggle more because we have heavier toxic burdens....not just mercury but everything else as well... -

Carla, how far is Heidelberg from Dr. W.? Is it close or did you travel? My friend lives 2 hours from Heidelberg. -
Do you have a Whole Foods in your area? All of the packaged meats they sell are free of nitrates.

ARCHIVED Sanity Check: Validity Of Enterolab
Rachel--24 replied to climbmtwhitney's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I just wanted to mention that Enterolab's malabsorption test is just that...a test for malabsorption. It does not in any way identify the cause of the malabsorption.....it does not show that the malabsorption is gluten induced. When I had my testing done they included a list of other possibilities for malabsorption. My Enterolab results were as follows... -
Yes, nitrates are toxic......one of the worst chemicals we have in our foods. Its definately one to avoid. Heres a list of some of the worst ones...you will find nitrates on most lists of additives/preservatives to AVOID. Acesulfame-K - "Sunette"; may cause low blood sugar attacks; causes cancer, elevated cholesterol in lab animals. Artificial...

Ditto to this. Andrea, let her know that she's in my thoughts and I hope she's feeling good soon. -

Nancy....the mercury is in the environment (air, soil, water,). Some areas (like California) have higher levels of environmental mercury than other areas....but everyone is exposed no matter where you live. If you're susceptible to mercury toxicity because of a genetic weakness....then you dont necessarily need big exposures to become toxic. Also, if you... -

Donna, hope all is going well with the surgery today. Andrea.....yup its tomorrow when I get off work. I agree about the regular dentists having lots of mercury vapor in the office. I cant see myself ever going back to one. Whole foods did something to the brownies I was eating. They changed the recipe or added an ingredient (even though... -

Yeah Lisa.....I know exactly how you feel. If I would have known what I know now I dont think I would have ever gotten sick. the only metal I can wear is 14 kt. gold....otherwise any other metal that touches my skin (like on belt buckle, anklets, bracelets, etc) makes me break out in a rash and/or turns my skin black. This was already noticeable... -

Rachel--24 replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
It seems like Dr. W. is saying the same thing as Dr. K and many of the other doctors......the Lyme is where the metals are. Lyme and mercury go hand-in-hand. I do think that it makes perfect sense.....it would be much harder for Lyme to get a foothold without the presence of mercury. Its a very strong immunosuppressant and this creates the perfect environment... -
ARCHIVED Gene Test Results... Worth Waiting For!
Rachel--24 replied to Mother of Jibril's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms

For anyone who is interested in the genetic stuff here is some info. Here is the link to the article. Open Original Shared Link On the page it says that Great Smokies (now Genova) is planning on offering tests for single SNP's.....instead of doing them in panels....in order to make it more cost efficient for anyone just wanting to look at one... -
ARCHIVED The Lyme Disease Thread
Rachel--24 replied to CarlaB's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Me too Carla. I have the energy to do the same things I was doing before I got sick....in that regards I'm 100% (or pretty close to it). I'm the only girl at work who can walk up to the the frozen food case and pull myself up without a ladder (sometimes I have to get on top of the case for stocking)....so I'm definately not weaker because of the illness.... -
ARCHIVED Entero Labs Test Results - Are They Easy To Understand?
Rachel--24 replied to angelaw's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Enterolab cant test you for Celiac....only gluten sensitivity. If you have positive results it does not give you an answer as to what the cause is...is it Celiac or something else? I would recommend having your Dr. order the Celiac panel if you have not yet started a gluten-free diet. Yes....the test results are pretty straight forward and easy to... -
ARCHIVED Bloodwork Negative, Now What?
Rachel--24 replied to julirama723's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I agree with the previous poster. Make sure that you get a copy of your results. Did they test your total serum IgA? That would be important to know because if you are IgA deficient you will have negative bloodwork even if you do have Celiac Disease. -
ARCHIVED Amalgam Removal Protocols
Rachel--24 replied to Lizz7711's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Liz, You've done alot of research and are not taking the removals lightly so I think you'll be ok as far as doing this the best way possible. Some people can definately handle getting them out in 30 days....it depends on the detoxification system. Someone who's already got problems with detoxification and/or a heavy load of mercury is more likely to... -

In addition to the mercury from amalgams I also had a head injury when I was a teenager. I havent had any other "trauma's" and I dont think its coincidence that the infections I have are all focused in that one area....my head/brain/jaw area. -

Thanks Sherry....I'll look at that blog. I didnt know that he was put on a gluten-free diet until I read his blogs! Looks like he gets to indulge during his "vacation" though. He had McDonalds!!!! I am sooooo jealous! EDIT: I read that blog Sherry.....and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Lots of good info. there. I want to be in GERMANY... -
ARCHIVED Amalgam Removal Protocols
Rachel--24 replied to Lizz7711's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I would recommend working with a doctor in your area on the detox part of it because every person is different and people who are sensitive may need a program that is more specific to their own needs. If you were in perfect health and could tolerate anything it would be easier to make recommendations but it can be more complicated if you are already mercury... -

ARCHIVED Amalgam Removal Protocols
Rachel--24 replied to Lizz7711's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I just saw your signature and it looks like you do have many intolerances and environmental sensitivities. In that case alot of those problems might be related to mercury (a strong possibility). If you dont feel well enough at the time of your next removal....dont do it. You dont want to push your body and each exposure can make things worse if you're not... -
ARCHIVED Amalgam Removal Protocols
Rachel--24 replied to Lizz7711's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Is the dentist following the type of safety protocol discussed above? What type of material is being used for the crown? You dont want gold or any type of metal that can react with the amalgams that are still in your mouth (dissimilar metals = galvanic reaction = more mercury exposure). Are you taking anything to help your body eliminate any mercury... -

Rachel--24 replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I'm not sure....I'm thinking no...but anything is possible since we're all so different. Tabasco (Lisa) knows alot about zeolite so maybe if she posts she can let us know. I hope he does have some ideas and I'm actually happy that he'll push a little...but I would definately back off of anything that didnt feel right to me. I could tell that... -
