  1. That's so sweet, it made me tear up. That's exactly what I'm going to think about!
  2. Thanks, Lisa! I didn't think I was going to be such a chicken about it. I'm not looking forward to the prep, but I'm also nervous about the procedures. My insurance company approved the anesthetic, so I'll be out, but definitely feeling like a scaredy-cat.
  3. Thank you! I'm a little surprised at how nervous I am!
  4. Took forever for my doctor's office to call me back. I just wanted to know how everyone else has dealt with this. It's so close, but I'm so tempted to chicken out. The idea of the procedure is kind of freaking me out.
  5. I am scheduled for Tuesday. My instructions say nothing by mouth after midnight. Does that include water? I don't think I can go without water for 12 hours!
  6. My GI said that 2 pieces of bread a day for 3 weeks is enough. Although to be fair, I'm not crazy about her.
  7. Thanks! I really appreciate the encouragement! lol! I'm still eating it. I can make it to the biopsy. I'm looking forward to not eating it anymore afterwards.
  8. Thanks Lisa & IrishHeart for the feedback. It's scheduled for 11/6. That would give me just over a month of the gluten challenge. She said 3 weeks of 2 pieces of bread a day would be enough... I would like to get it over with. I'm just concerned she won't find any damage from the 3 biopsies and it will feel like a waste of time.
  9. I met with the GI yesterday. I did not like her. She never smiled. She shook my hand while holding a pen. (Seriously, too busy to put the pen in the other hand before shaking?) She felt dismissive after looking at my blood tests (negative). Although she said they did not run the IgA test? So if my IgA is low, the test results would be skewed. ...
  10. FYI, I already have an illegal space heater in my office. I think I would have good logic for my own toaster though! I'm feeling pretty poorly. It feels like maybe a cumulative effect of all the gluten at night -- I'm not really "resetting" in the morning anymore. The last couple of days I've been waking up with the fatigue and muscle weakness....
  11. Well someone on another floor did something wrong -- and the Fire Department came. So today, all toaster ovens have been removed from the building. The only toaster in the building is in our commissary and it's full of gluten. Darn it. I may have to hide a toaster in my office.
  12. I make scrambled eggs in the microwave at work when I get in. First melt butter into a bowl. Then add two eggs, mixed. Cook on high for 30 seconds. Stir well, cook for another 30 seconds. They come out very fluffy.
  13. Thank you for all the encouragement! You have a great weekend too, Lisa! I left my notes at the office, but if you don't mind, maybe Monday I could post the info/questions I'm bringing with me and you could let me know if I've left out something obvious...
  14. Thanks! As long as I don't screw up and only eat gluten at night I get through the day. My consultation is Tuesday. I could never make it without all of you!
  15. **Applauding**
  16. hehehe I couldn't figure it out -- I cheated. One of those quotes is just a copy and paste.
  17. You are the nicest people ever!!!
  18. That's a good idea. I am getting fatter by the day though because I am only eating the gluten at night, and normally my big meal is lunch.
  19. Cool. I have cheerleaders! (Now, what to poison myself with for dinner tonight.)
  20. Thanks! It helps a lot! What a stupid process this is!
  21. I am laughing! And I'm up on keeping up... except the FWIW and KWIM...
  22. That was a great description and exactly how I feel. Only throw in extras like, yesterday I had a 1/2 of a cookie in the afternoon, and then halfway through my commute was unsure if I was going to make it home in time. So I don't know if it was the cookie -- or like Chiana said, a cumulative reaction. What does OP stand for? I'm sure it's really obvious...
  23. That was my thought when I read it.
